Amazing Vacation Destination!!

My husband and I stayed at Vista Del Mar to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We were there for 12 days and never lacked for something to do. We were very happy with the condo and the pictures we had seen of VDM didn’t do justice to the beauty of the place. We had everything we needed! We stayed on the 4th floor in a 3 bedroom condo and the view was breathtaking. One of my favorite things to do was to sit on the patio which overlooked Half Moon Bay and just soak in the sights and sounds of the ocean as well as the beauty of Half Moon Bay. We could see the Rays and Turtles in the water from the view from our patio. There were so many things to do and all within walking distance or a bike ride away (you can rent bikes there). We ate lunch and dinner at the La Buena Vida Restaurant & Bar. The bar is very unique with swings for seats. The food is wonderful and prepared just the way you like it. The staff at the restaurant and bar was very helpful and informative. We rented snorkel equipment at the Akumal Dive Adventures and then headed to Yal Ku Lagoon to snorkel. It was amazing and so much fun. My husband also snorkeled in Half Moon Bay right outside our condo. The reefs are beautiful with lots to see. You can also contact the Dive Shop to go scuba diving or fishing and they’ll arrange to take you out in their boats. We also loved the fact that we could shopping for things like milk, bread, eggs, etc. in the convenience store which is very close to the condo. There are little shops across from the La Buena Vida Restaurant that sell gifts like silver, shirts, hats, blankets, hand-painted pottery, and lots of other stuff. This made shopping for our family and friends back home very easy. They have beautiful stuff. All in all, we had a wonderful time and are looking forward to making this a yearly vacation spot. You have to see it to believe it!! We would highly recommend Vista Del Mar!!

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car.

Vista Del Mar is fabulous! Great place for multiple ages and activity levels.

Yes to all of the review tips and guidelines. There is a really nice about 4 miles south of Akumal that I would recommend. We went to Aktun Chen this time and were very impressed. This was our sixth stay at Vista Del Mar.

Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car.

This was our sixth stay at Vista del Mar. We wouldn't think of going anywhere else. The condos have the best location in Akumal. We love how quiet Half Moon Bay is, even though we go during one of the busiest times of the year. There is plenty to do in Akumal, and tons to do in the area. The staff is the same every year, they are wonderful! We love our week at Vista del Mar.

I must give heartiest of thanks to the staff at Vista del Mar. We stayed for 3 nights in total - the last two in one of the 3-bed condos - during the New Year's celebrations. From the moment we arrived to the time we left, we were treated like guests in the truest sense of the word. The eve of New Year's, we were surprised to be met at the door of the condo with a bottle of wine, courtesy of the hotel. I don't believe that has happened at any other hotel I've spent the holidays, and it was a lovely gesture. The condos were clean and spacious, and the sight and sound of the sea was a welcome respite to my New York City self, as well as the others in the family who were also grateful to have such a wonderful, comfortable accommodation in such a beautiful, relaxing setting. I will most definitely recommend Vista del Mar to friends in the future, and would happily take the opportunity to visit again.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Vista Del Mar. We were impressed with the great service; very clean rooms. I think they even ran to Sam's Club to get brand new egg crate pads for the beds in the second bedrooms because I mentioned they were a little uncomfortable last year. Thanks so much to the staff for doing that. We all slept very well. My husband forgot to bring reading material, but found a very good book in the condo. I appreciated the office letting us store our luggage and change in the back room when we had a late flight out. The Vista Del Mar location is perfect. Just close enough to walk back and forth between the main bay area if you didn't want to drive and also close to the La Buena Vida Restaurant. Speaking of the La Buena Vida..... they sure have improved their service and especially their margarita's since last year. Much better !! The band that played during the full moon party was one of the best I have heard in the area. Fun!! We did miss the massage people. Last year they set up right in front of the hotel, but I didn't see them this year. Maybe they were busier. We will definately be back and will recommend the property to others.

Hi, Heidi and Joanne, We had a wonderful time, as usual. We also want to say how we noticed this time much more abundance of wildlife (birds, fish, turtles) this trip, and can see how the ecological center has really had quite an impact on the area. Wonderful work. Also fewer/hardly any stray pets. Good work done by all. We'll look forward to returning next year, but we'll reserve EARLIER this year! Take care, Allison & Dennis
