Skiing and snowboarding at Monarch, Copper Mountain and Ski Cooper! Spend a winter holiday in the beautiful Rocky Mountains!
The Inn Between is a beautiful log home situated on 5 acres within 3.5 miles of the town of Buena Vista. The home has an "open design" that is roomy with a great kitchen for cooking, and a gas grill on the deck just outside. The deck has a hot tub facing Mt. Princeton to the south and several of the 14'rs in the valley are visible from the decks. The master suite has its own deck, a walk-in part stone two-faucet shower AND a deep soaking tub with great window views. Two bedrooms on the main level share a bath and also have wonderful views, all are comfortably furnished. The living room has a television for viewing movies, leather couches and floor to ceiling windows.
Visitors enjoy short drives to historic Leadville to the north and "artsy" Salida to the south. Summer activities include hiking fourteeners, whitewater rafting, fishing in the Arkansas or in the high mountain lakes and plenty of places to explore. Winter visitors bring your snowshoes, skis, and sleds for the kids! Ski areas such as Monarch, Ski Cooper and Summit County are an hour or less away. Salida offers live theater at the Steamplant and lots of wonderful galleries.
It is hard to beat this wonderful place to get away and enjoy the peace of the mountains and gaze at the stars after a great day outdoors. Sit on the deck and read in the sun, or soothe your muscles in the hot tub at the end of an adventurous day.
Buena Vista is truly a great place to visit at the base of the Collegiate Peaks Range whether it is summer or winter or Inn Between!

My husband and I recently had the opportunity to travel across country and spend our first "alone" vacation since becoming semi-empty nesters. We drove to Colorado from Pennsylvania. We chose this home first, which landed our vacation in Buena Vista. We are so very glad we did! The home is simply gorgeous and Tom and Larkin are the perfect owners to work with. The home is centrally located to many outdoor attractions, is immaculate and well stocked. Yes, as one reviewer noted, there are several closets, etc that are locked...so what! The owners certainly have a right to keep some of their personal belongings in their own home! I felt very taken care of by Tom and Larkin. The hot tub was ready upon our arrival, the home was recently cleaned and emergency phone numbers were provided in case anything went wrong. The views from this home are astonishing! It only added to our delight when we could watch all sorts of wildlife from the rear deck. Thank you Tom and Larkin for a most amazing journey. We plan on coming back just as soon as we are able!

Our family for the second year in a row stayed at "The Inn Between". The home is beautiful. We love sitting in the hot tub watching the stars twinkle at night, very magical! You can tell this home is lovingly cared for by the owner, it's a stunning piece of property! But! He treats it like he lives there. Alot of locked rooms and closets, not a very inviting feeling. The living room has soaring windows to take in the incredable views, yet he has the second and third level windows covered in blinds ( these blinds were not in place in 2010). You could not open the blinds. Sitting in the loft you had no view of the mountains. Zero cleaning supplies, broom that's it. We were given one towel for each person, one wash clothe for each bathroom. Though the home is worth staying at once. Staying there twice, we all decided to look for a more inviting home for our 2012 Colorado vacation.

My Husband and I brought our kids and my parents from Virginia to stay here for 2 weeks 8/14/2010 - 8/28/2010, 9 of us. My parents and I are Colorado natives that live in Virginia now. Most of our family lives in the Denver metro area so this place was a perfect location for vacation and visiting family in the city. The pictures do not do this place justice the views all around this home are awesome. This home is a work of art in its design, construction and decor. Every day one of us would discover something new we hadn't noticed the day before. We had family visit us from Denver while we were here and they all wanted to know how they could stay here, so I gave out lots of referrals. There was so much to do within a short drive, hiking, swimming (hot springs), fishing, zip lining, kayaking, horseback riding, shopping, sightseeing you name it we tried to pack it all in. Recommend a trip to St. Elmo as a nearby attraction, beautiful drive getting there. My Father was diagnosed with Cancer (treatable, not terminal at this time) last fall and this was a very important vacation for us. He is 71, still works 80-hour weeks as a truck driver. This was a temporary sanctuary for him and my mother to relax, enjoy the wildlife and the quiet. He really didn't want to leave the house so he mostly stayed home and read books. Having a bedroom on the main level was perfect for them as steps are difficult. I was thrilled how much they enjoyed just staying at home. Tom Thank-you for sharing your home with us, I am sure we will be back since this place now holds such a special place in hearts and memories now.

We stayed for two weeks and kept pinching ourselves because we couldn't believe how beautiful it was in the house as well as outside the house. "Log Cabin" is not quite accurate! More like "Log Castle"! It was roomy and so nice. We knew this would probably be the last vacation for a while since we will be putting kids through college the next 9 years. Thanks for providing such an awesome place!

My husband and I stayed here in mid June 2010 and had the most fantastic experience. Beautiful home, incredibly well kept, rental process was easy. The views are so very memorable, and it is a quiet, relaxing place to enjoy your vacation. The house is decorated so beautifully, making one feel quite at home. The house's location is central to so many things to do - downtown Buena Vista, hiking, rafting, Hot Springs, etc. Our time spent in this home will never be forgotten.

My family stayed in this home in June of 2009 just prior to my husband, my son and myself all deploying to Iraq for a year. We were leaving our daughter and new son-in-law behind in the states and were looking for a place to get away from it all and concentrate on making some memories before we left. We were not disappointed, the home was incredible, the white water rafting was awesome and we were able to escape the future for a few days. Everything was easy. My coments are arriving late simply because I have been so busy being deployed. I woulddefinetel like to include this place again in the future.

What a beautiful "Home away from Home"! We had a fantastic stay in Buena Vista and this home definitely was a big part of that! We had everything we could possibly need! The views from all sides of the home were absolutely beautiful and the local wildlife was very fun to watch! The owner is so great to work with (Thanks Tom!). We will definitely be back!! Nicest house I have ever rented in the mountains. If you stay anywhere else in Buena Vista, you are making a mistake. Perfect deck for relaxing, cooking out, and hanging out in the hot tub. Amazing views from deck and all windows in the house.

6/4/09 We loved this cabin, we all had plenty of space, and the views and weather were picture perfect!! Rafting with the KODI outfitters topped our list of great things to do in Buena Vista! What a great place to get away from it all!! Thanks again, the Alfreys, Tulsa OK
