A CHARMING AND EXCLUSIVE 19TH CENTURY COUNTRY HOUSE Lovely, antique country house standing on the crest of a hill with a spectacular view of surrounding hillside vineyards, near the small medieval town of Otricoli. Broad, sweeping lawn and swimming pool enclosed by olive trees. Comfortably and elegantly furnished. The owners can organize for the guests who are interested, visits and wine tastings in their Winery (5 minutes walking from the house) LOCATION - 70 Km from Rome and close to all the Umbrian artistic towns:
- Orvieto and its cathedral (61 km) - Assisi, the city of St. Francis (50 km) - Todi, a medieval gem (60 km) - Florence (210 km) - Perugia (100 km) - Viterbo and its natural thermal baths - Rome (70 km) - Amelia (40 km) An area with a great culinary tradition, a wonderful variety of foods and drinks (wine, cheese, cured meats and hams, olive oil, pastries…) and fantastic eating places, both simple and gourmet (Vissani's, the most highly-rated restaurant in Italy, is only 40 minutes away).
The garden, with its lawn surrounded by trees and flowers, is graced by a particularly beautiful sky in July and August. Many villages hold typical rural festivals the whole summer long. In September you can take part in our grape harvest. October is perfect for the thermal baths of Viterbo with their natural hot springs. Our country house has been home to us for years. We have restored it with loving care and furnished it in an elegant country style. We love it so much we want to share it with others. We live in Rome where we work and go to school (our family consists of an ophthalmologist, a pediatrician and two students), but we own a farmhouse and vineyard not far from Santo Iolo. We hope you'll visit us and have a taste of the wine we make in our own Winery.
