  We are cottage homeowners at Hidden Dunes also. We were bringing friends from North Carolina to stay with us at Hidden Dunes. We rented this property for our friends to stay in. The experience was a good one from the initial contact with the owner through VRBO and throughout the stay. Would highly recommend this property.

  We loved this cottage. It had everything we needed for a party of 5. We never came up short on towels, which is a big item for us. The water compartment on the coffee pot was clean, which is another deal breaker. . It had plenty of kitchen items for us to use. We love cooking a lot of our meals and everything was there. They even had beach towels in the laundry closet for guests. We didn't need them though because we had brought our own. As for as changes, I would have liked to have had a map of Hidden Dunes when we arrived. I heard there was a beautiful walking path. Also, the people below us had dogs that barked in the middle of the night and early morning. We would definately stay in this unit again. 5 STARS

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

  Owner response: Thank you so much for the wonderful review. Your suggestion of a maps in the condo is an excellent one. We have one in the guest book but I guess not everyone looks at that plus a map that you could carry with you would serve everyone better. Excellent idea and I will be getting on that right away. As for the barking dogs, this puzzles me. I've asked several renters before and after your visit and no one has heard dogs barking to the extent that you report. I know the owner does have 2 dogs but she uses bark collars on them. This is a second home for her and so she isn't there all the time. I don't know what was different the week that of your stay but I will post the number for security so that if it ever occurs again, my guest can call security (24/7) and they will take care of the problem immediately. I'm so sorry you had to put up with that. Thanks again for your truthful review. Your suggections are good ones and I hope I've taken care for them for you and any future guest.

  Stayed at this particular condo during May of 2012- best condo rental i have stayed in at destin!!!! the freshly updated kitchen was immaculate and the the slide open screen window from the kitchen to the balcony was perfect for outdoor eating. whenever i travel to destin, i will be renting this unit and no other!!!

  We enjoyed our stay in this condo. This was our first experience with VRBO, & the owner was very helpful & answered my e-mails promptly. The condo was clean. There was plenty of room for our family of five, including three teenagers, to spread out. Great kitchen - well stocked with cooking/serving utensils. Pass thru window from kitchen to nice screened porch with ceiling fan. Large entry is nice with the tile floors, especially going to & from beach & pool. The master bedroom is big with walk-in closet & large tile shower in master bath. Our boys enjoyed the loft room with a double bed for each & their own bath. There's even a privacy curtain to close if off from the downstairs area. Our daughter had her own room with a bath right outside in the hall. The in wall medicine type cabinets in all the baths were great for storing toiletries. Hidden Dunes is a nice, clean resort with shaded walkways & a pond. It's a short walk from the condo to the larger pool. The tram to the beach (in season) was great; we never had to wait long after calling. Grocery stores & Wal-Mart are nearby. Very comfortable condo & great, quiet resort area. We didn't want to leave!!

  My family has stayed at this condo for several years now and we just love it. It is upstairs but the plus side to that is the screened in porch which is nestled amongst the trees. This is so peaceful for early morning and evening or anytime really. The porch overlooks the clay tennis courts. The kitchen and master bathroom are newly remodeled. We are so comfortable here and look forward to our next visit. The crystal clear waters of the Gulf are only a short walk away or you can take the tram to the beach if you prefer. Outlet shopping is only a few minutes down the road. We consider Destin a piece of heaven on earth. Enjoy your stay!

  Our family has stayed at Hidden Dunes many times over the past few years, and it is our favorite vacation spot in the Destin area. Although this was our first time staying in this particular cottage, it will certainly not be our last. The cottage was just as pictured. It was very spacious, and could easily accommodate 8 - 10 guests. The kitchen has beautiful granite countertops and nice appliances, and it is equipped with everything you need. The beach is just a short walk from the cottage, and a shuttle is available for those who prefer to ride. The beach access is private, and chair/umbrella service is available. The Sea Dog Grill is located at the beach access, and it is open most weekends during the peak season. The cottage is just around the corner from one of the pools, and it backs up to the tennis courts. A pond is also located within the complex, and children love to take a little time out here for fishing. In addition, the cottage is very close to many local attractions. It is less than one mile to the outlet malls and Baytowne Wharfe as well as other restaraunts like Vin Tij Wine Bistro, Bayou Bill's, and Jordano's Pizza; and it is just a short drive to Destin Commons and Big Kahuna's Water Park. It doesn't get much better than this...
