Lake Front Log Cabin with Boat Slip

Didn't want to leave !!

Beautifully decorated, comfortable cabin with amazing views! We loved everything about our stay at this lake front cabin. Doren and family were very accomodating (even put up with my countless emails before the trip LOL) and helped direct us to all activities in the area. They even have assembled a 'welcome' book in the cabin that has brochures, pamphlets, etc for all nearby activities; horseback riding, rafting, rodeo, all the national parks, towns of interest, restaurants, etc. We found all of that information extremely helpful. Cabin was spacious, well designed, clean, modern, fully stocked with essentials that you hate to buy for a week-long trip (ie laundry soap, paper towels, etc). We cooked almost all meals 'at home' in the cabin and ate outside on the fabulous deck overlooking the lake and mountains. Breathtaking views. Cabin has a gas grill for use which we loved! Plenty of room for the kids to run around in the grass outside near the lake and play or fish (thanks for the use of the fishing poles! My son caught 10 fish on our last day!!). On chilly evenings we made a fire in the firepit and had smores :) Sauna was refreshing and downstairs double shower a dream! Everyone loved playing pinball and using all the games in the dining room cabinet (kids loved Uno!). Opened doors and windows every night and could feel the cool breeze - never slept better :) Cabin is in a terrific location - only a short drive into the West Yellowstone downtown area and grocery / souvenir shopping (one right turn for those directionally-impaired travelers, like me!) and the west entrance of YNP. From downtown W Yellowstone, the rodeo and Diamond P ranch (horseback riding) just a few minutes away. Horseback riding right down the road, only a few miles from the cabin on same road (Parade Rest Ranch - amazing views during the ride!). Great to be that close to town area but far enough way to have a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Even before we had to pack up and leave, the kids asked 'can we come back?!' We absolutely hope the answer will be 'yes' !!

Visited in Sept 2010 to go to Yellowstone hiking and exploring every day and it was absolutely fabulous to come "home" everyday to this wonderful cabin. We stopped at a food store on the way home every afternoon and cooked great dinners while enjoying a lake view to die for. The cabin had everything you could ask for! We highly recommend it! It's 20 minutes to Yellowstone west entrance.

We had a wonderful experience at the cabin. We have been to Hawaii and many other places....I can tell this rates right at the top with Maui. If you want a peaceful, beautiful place to stay..this is the place. You won't believe how beautiful the house is decorated and furnished - and the view WOW! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. This place is a 5* plus.

Comments were received from the Paulson Family soon after their Yellowstone vacation. To all the members of the Paulson Family, Thank you so much for your e-mail. I was very pleased to hear your vacation was so memorable. Doren Doren: I wanted to write you a quick note to tell you what a fantastic time we had at your beautiful lake home. The decorations were perfect, the home was very clean and we felt right at home the minute we walked through the front door. The pictures don't do this home justice. Our children enjoyed fishing in the lake at dusk while we watched the gorgeous sunset over the mountains from the deck. The home was about perfect distance from downtown West Yellowstone, which is a fun little town to play in. We enjoyed many days in Yellowstone National Park and also took day trips to the Teton Mountains and Jackson Hole. What amazing country and wildlife. Probably one of the most relaxing vacations I have had. My children even made the comment that this trip beat Disney World by far. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and want to thank you for opening your home to us. If future travels ever lead us west, you can be certain we'll look at renting with you again. The Paulson Family Rochester, MN p.s. Feel free to post as comments on your website.......

June 2008 Our family (myself and my husband, from Illinois, my sister and her husband, from Louisiana, and my brother, from Maine) had the pleasure of being the first to rent the Hebgen Lakeview Cabin. Our week was fantastic! Away from the tourist hubbub of West Yellowstone but only a short drive to all of its features and a wonderful view of the lake. We spent 2 days in Yellowstone National Park, 3 trips hunting morel mushrooms and took a wonderful horseback trail ride with Yellowstone Horseback Trail Rides. It was only a short drive up Hebgen Lake Road to the Johnson Lake Trailhead so it was very convient, the scenery was unforgettable and the wrangler was the best. (I might be a little prejudice, but only a little, since he was my nephew.) We also drove up to the top of Horse Butte one day, which has a fantastic view. We found the people at the West Yellowstone Chamber of Commerce very helpful with any request for information and they had a computer availabe for public use. The cabin was perfect. Competely equipped and stocked with about anything we could possibly want. The little restaurant near by had great buffalo burgers and corn nuggets so we did carry-outs to go with our mushrooms. Also heard they have great onion rings. The rest of the time we cooked or ate in West Yellowstone. The washer and dryers was particularly helpful because we did our mushroom hunting in burned over National Forest land and got a little black in the process! We would highly recommend Hebgen Lakeview Cabin. My brother and sister kept saying I "did good" at picking a place for our family get together. I'd love to go back! We loved our week at the log cabin! It was fully stocked, wonderfully decorated and perfect for our family. The view of the lake and our home away from home was a wonderful addition to our family vacation to Yellowstone. I've stayed a quite a few vacation homes and this one ranks #1 - even the kids were impressed!
