Alligator Point is an absolutely beautiful, biodiverse place! We have been to many parts of Florida and I have NEVER seen the shells and animals we saw on Alligator Point. The hermit crabs and horseshoe crabs were HUGE. At low tide, you can walk for what seems like miles! The beach is low impact so you don't have to worry about younger kids, but at the same token, we didn't have any waves for the older kids to boogie board. The only slightly negative is the water isn't as clear but that is a small negative. In addition, you need to wear water shoes. The Heavenly Sunrise was PERFECT! Lots of amenities and room for everyone! It was by far the coolest house in terms of temperatures inside the house. However, if you use a lot of ice, the ice maker cannot keep up so make sure you have a cooler handy to store ice. Lovely house and Ms. Sharon was super quick to respond to any communications.

Owner response: Thank you! Yes Alligator Point is a bio-diverse paradise! It is the REAL Florida! Located between Wakulla and Franklin Counties, in the Salt Marshes, Tidal Flats and Estuaries that were once called "Mysterious Waters" by the native settlers. After a storm, the fine sediment of the upland rivers spills out into the Gulf. This can stir up the usually clear waters of the Gulf for a day or two until the sediment washes further out into the Gulf. Then the waters are crystal clear again...thus the name "Mysterious Waters!" But it is these "mysterious waters" that attract the abundant sand dollars, dolphins, birds, manatees and other sea life that you find along the sugar white beaches of Alligator Point...that make this beach so unique! Bring your kayaks and explore the natural habitats up close!

Words cannot express what a wonderful family vacation we had in your home. We saw beautiful sunrises, deer every morning, all kinds of birds, fish jumping, hermit crabs, gorgeous seashells and sand dollars, etc. The breeze blew every day just enough to make sitting on the many deck areas comfortable. The screened in deck with the ceiling fan was so nice. There was so much room for everyone whether all in the living area or just needing privacy. We did not turn on the tv for three days which is highly unusual for a teenager. We will all treasure the peaceful atmosphere and private beach area. Thank you for all your help and for the ladies who did an excellent job in cleaning before we arrived. You made our family vacation we will alwaya remember! A+++!!

This is a return trip for us. My family is a very active 5 year old, an 8 week old and us two parental types. The house is more than we could ask for. Upon arrival, everything was so clean. It's the perfect location to relax - this trip I knew I would have to spend a good bit of time indoors with our newborn, but with the excellent views, I still felt connected to the beach. This jewel is so comfortably furnished it's like a home away from home. We had great outings to Wakulla Springs State Park and to George Griffin Pottery as well as the Gulf Specimen Aquarium. Enough there for kids to find enjoyable, great relaxation for adults! Thanks! We hope to return soon!!

We had two families stay in the house with 5 kids ranging in age from 8 years old down to a 1 year old. Both families had an absolutely amazing vacation! The accommodations were fantastic, the beach was gorgeous (especially during low tide in the morning) and the sunrises were unforgettable! We saw so much natural wildlife (crabs, fish, porpoises, herons, etc.) and really enjoyed the seclusion of the beach. The water was a comfortable temperature, the beach was very clean and the sand was sugary white, as promised! We even drove into Tallahassee and found some good shopping for a day as well! The Walmart has everything that we needed to make the vacation special and wasn't too far away from the house. We had an amazing week and would love to be back in the future - we're already discussing our next trip to The Heavenly Sunrise!

We had a great time at Heavenly Sunrise. It was just as described, everything was clean and in great shape. The views are spectacular from every room. Me, my Wife, 4 yr old son, 18 month old daughter, and my Mom (Nana) stayed at the house for a week. All the bedrooms are large and plenty of room in the living area for the kids to play. Everything you need was there. Sharon was great also, we ended up calling her last minute and she jumped through alot of hoops to get us in the house. We are so glad she did because we loved it. We saw dolphins playing in the surf, and even 3 manatees playing in the surf at the dock in the state park just down the road from the house. Plenty of great restaurants close by, and you must visit the aquarium in Panacea and go to Wakulla springs for the boat ride and swimming while you're here. We couldn't have asked for more. We definately recommend this house for anyone. Thanks for letting us use your house for the week!

My family and I rented The Heavenly Sunrise for the most memorable and relaxing vacation we have ever had, the listing of the house is completely accurate down to the smallest detail. The home's ammenities are above and beyond, we cooked all our family's meals in the fully stocked kitchen, what a treat not to have to eat out for a week and to sit down and eat as a family. The photos listed on the home's website are an exact representation of the home you walk into when you arrive and it is everything we imagined and more. The house is everything I could possibly want or need in a vacation rental, private, quiet location with views that cannot be rivaled, beaches to stroll day and night without the worry of crowds, plenty of opportunity to teach your children about the great outdoors in an environment they do not live in, and the peace and serenity to sit back, relax and enjoy God's splendor. The owner of the house could not have been more helpful, all my questions (and there were many) were answered completely and in a very timely manner, a true delight to correspond with and rent from. We intend to make this home our go to spot for all of our future family vacations. While staying at the house we visited Wakulla Springs and took the river boat ride that is amazing, and we also visited the Gulf Specimen Lab, which my children absolutely loved, where else can you actually touch creatures from the Gulf of Mexico and learn about their habitats and bring in your own specimens off the beach and have people explain what these items are and their place in the eco-system. Our favorite family moment at the house was watching the dolphins fishing the sandbars in the morning as we ate our breakfast and if we were very lucky they would come back and visit during dinner. I cannot imagine a better vacation for our family, we love to take long walks and enjoy nature's beauty and this vacation home affords many opportunities to partake in these activities. I highly recommend this home to anyone who is looking to relax in one of the most beautiful settings available, enjoy the most amazing sunrises imaginable, bask in the Florida sun on some of the most pure beaches I've ever had the pleasure to visit, watch dolphins and pelicans fishing the Gulf, and just enjoy yourself immensely. No hustle, no bustle, no crowds, no deadlines, no hurry, NO PROBELM! This vacation home delivers in a big way, you won't ever regret spending one moment in this wonderful place.

This beach house is AWESOME! We have enjoyed going there many times. We appreciate the wonderful house, great location, peaceful area...it is great for all of our children who span from 7 to 20 years old. Working with the owners is always a pleasure...they are very accomodating. It is a great get-away...not in your typical touristy areas. We love it and will keep going back!

We spent Winter Break at the Heavenly Sunrise. It was heavenly! It was very quiet - like we had the whole beach for ourselves. We had beautiful weather all week (better than 9 inches of snow at home). The house was beautiful - just like the pictures. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped. We spent hours on the beach with the kids. We loved the Aquarium, Poseys and the Funky Fiddler in the cute little town over the bridge. I will be telling my friends and other family members about this great place.

Wow! What an awesome week! We were looking for an adventure - something different - and we found it. Uncommon Florida! After several calls to the owner of the beautiful home, we decided on the Heavenly Sunrise - and I'm glad we did. She was very helpful, and because of her suggestions, we had the BEST vacation ever. She told us all about the MUST SEE places to go. We kayaked Chairs Creek and the incredible Wakulla River, we went to the 43rd Annual Appalachicola Seafood Festival, we went on the glass bottom boat ride at pristine Wakulla Springs, ate at Poseys, roasted oysters on the grill at the house, hiked through the trails at the State Park, photographed the incredible sunrises and butterflies, visited the Florida State Capitol, saw an FSU game and walked for hours on the private white sandy beaches surrounding the home. I've never seen Florida like this before. When each day ended, we relaxed in the comfort of the home - where every detail was addressed, from the well stocked kitchen, to the beautiful decor. All the comforts of home - and then some! All of the beds were very comfortable and you could really watch the sunrise right from your bed each morning! Words can not describe the views from every room - even from the kitchen sink while you wash dishes! WOW! We have already booked our vacation for next year!

Owner response: As a native Floridian, I have spent many years enjoying the incredible beauty and adventure that this area, called The Forgotten Coast offers. WE are so grateful that it was "forgotten" by all the condo and commercial developers, and the State and Federal governments stepped in and bought all the remaining land in its pristine condition to preserve as State and National Parks and Wildlife Refuges. Most people never see the salt marshes, the native wildlife, or the sand-dollar covered unspoiled beaches of "The Real Florida." I'm glad that you were true adventure seekers. There is still so much that you haven't done - like explore the crystal clear sinkholes, seine for shrimp, kayak with the Manatees, go scalloping and check out the "Downtown Get Down in Tallahassee. You also must come back for Mule Days - unfortunately it is the same weekend as the Appalach Seafood Festival. Ahhhh decisions - decisions! I've already reserved your week next year!

What a great vacation! We can't wait to come back again. We spent a week in October at this lovely home. Blue skies, blue water, white sand, 80 degrees and butterflies everywhere. We have young children and teens and this place was perfect for both. Our 3 year old twins splashed in the surf for hours every day. During low tide, there were tidal pools between the many sandbars where the water was less than knee deep so our small children played without worry. Even at high tide, the surf remained calm. The teens rode bikes through the many bike trails and kayaked in the calm ocean and through Chairs Creek in the state park. The beautiful butterflies were everywhere. The park ranger told us that they stop over for a few months in the fall of every year on their migration south for the winter. What a blessing. They would land on us, while we laid out at the beach each day! The home was clean, well maintained and beautifully decorated. The beds were comfortable and the decor was very beachy. There were plenty of family movies, books and games. The kitchen had more pots, pans, appliances and dishes than I have in my own kitchen at home. The owners thought of every detail. We loved going into town to eat at Poseys...home of the best fried shrimp and grouper sandwiches I've ever eaten. Most days we would stop at My Way and purchase fresh seafood caught daily, and bring it home to cook on the grill. Every evening, we sat out on the deck and watched the shooting stars while we listened to the surf, The mornings were incredible. The home is aptly named...the sunrises were HEAVENLY! I loved waking up to see them from my bed every morning. Each morning brought a more beautiful sunrise than the day before. We walked to the State Park everyday, where we would watch the birds from the wildlife viewing pavillion over the salt marsh and check out the daily catch on the fishing pier. I never knew there was a Florida like this! It was like we were millionairs that owned our own private island. We had the whole beach to ourselves for the entire week. We can't wait til next year to come back again. Thank you so much for opening your beautiful home to us!

Owner response: Thank you for taking care of our home. We love this place too. We tried to leave bikes for our guests to enjoy, but they would rust before the season ended. The salt air, while refeshing, is relentless on metal objects like bicycle chains. I'm glad you thought to bring your kids bikes with you. We welcome you back anytime!

We spent a gloriously relaxing week at The Heavenly Sunrise. It was everything we needed, and more than we could have hoped for. Comfy furnishings, plenty of bedrooms to have the grandparents come for a few nights, and a pristine, uncrowded beach for exploring and adventure. Our son is 3, and we were worried about keeping him entertained, but those worries were unfounded. The nearby town features a small aquarium that provided hours of educational entertaiment, and nearby is Wakulla Springs that was a great half-day trip, including a delicious lunch in the restaurant inside the on-property inn. Plus the beach and the great supply of beach toys! We have great memories of a truly wonderful family time together in The Heavenly Sunrise.

Don't be fooled by the Pictures and the Description. Upon my family vacation arrival on 10/3/2010 we found the home a mess and refused to stay! The home furnishings looked like something you would pick up for trash beside the road. They where covered with water stains and broken. The couch and loveseat were torn and sewn together with what looked like fishing string. The bed linens where stained. The steps leading up to the living area from ground level didn't look like they had been cleaned in years. The wall and doors through out the home was stained with filth and also with holes that had been unprofessionally patched. The Washer and Dryer was covered with rust and scratches. The Dryer was propted up with Wood. The refrigerator crisper drawers had been shattered sometime in the past and taped back together with clear tape. Blinds in the bedroom facing the neighbors to the east were missing but were leaned up against the wall. Personel items found in the master suit dresser drawer from God Knows Who! The outside shower wall was broken out with a big hole and weeds growing up thru the shower stall. The dust throught the home was not for someone with allergies like us. The wall decor was broken and coverd with dust. Some of the outside structeral walls and ceiling had cracks through out and we didn't know if the home was safe to be occupied. The outside of the back of the home was covered with mold not for someone with allergies like us. and least, but last the outdoor gas grill of the home was something that words I don't think could ever decripe. "Rust Bucket" Don't be fooled and have to pay for your vacation twice like we had to.

Thank you for letting us stay in your awesome beach house! We woke up today and were like - LOOK! Look at the dolphins! Did you see the dolphins! Dolphins! - and we saw the dolphins...and it was good! It was enjoyable to have our Bible-reading on the beach and in the sitting room where God spoke to us through the gentle ebb and flow of the waves. We enjoyed the telescope very much! The only negative experience we take away from this amazing place are the bug bites, seeing as we can all play connect the dots on our arms and legs. The beach itself was amazing! We built a noteworthy sandcastle, fortified with shells of the fallen enemies of the crabs - how inhabiting our moats and city walls. -Comments from The Heavenly Sunrise Guestbook on the coffee table

We had a fabulous time at The Heavenly Sunrise. My two boys loved all of the wildlife in the area (Black Bears, Bald Eagles, Dolphins, Deer...we even saw a white squirrel in the park!). The close proximity to Bald Point State Park was great. We biked there daily and lauched our kayaks from there and the beach right in front of the house. Wakulla Springs S.P. was about 30 min away and was great! A very inexpensive boat ride down the river offered a LOT of wildlife viewing. My Way seafood in Panacea had great fresh grouper and shrimp (among other things) to purchase and take home for dinner. All in all....it was a great trip.

Our family decided at the last minute that we wanted to take a vacation to the beach during Spr. Break. I went to work on the "net" and googled tons of houses. I'm GLAD we decided on yours! It was exactly what we were looking for! We played on the beach, rode bikes to Bald Point, went canoeing, rode the boat at Wakulla Springs - you must eat at Savannah's Family Restaurant-rode to the lighthouse, and most importantly, spent time doing nothing but relaxing as as family. We are so blessed by the Almighty, it often times takes my breath away! Thank you for sharing your blessing with us. -Comment written in the Heavenly Sunrise Guestbook on the coffee table

Hi Sharon - We had a GREAT time at the beach. The house was the perfect size, very comfortable, and we thoroughly enjoyed being there. It felt like we had our own private little island. The views were amazing, although I only saw the sunrise once as I couldn't get up early enough!! Needless to say, the others enjoyed the view that early in the morning and the weather was fantastic! Even though we were there a week it felt like a short time. Thank you again for accomodating us as we had a wonderful time! Take care....Katerina Gavalas

We stayed at the lovely beach house for a week. It was great. We chased crabs and caught lots of hermit crabs. The kids loved it and they played continuously in the sand. While swimming in the day, you can find a ton of sand dollars. At night the water pulls back so you can go hundreds of feet out, almost looks like you are walking on water. We visited the Cherokee Sink and it was a blast. The docks were so fun to jump off of and the water was beautiful. This is a great family get away. We look forward to coming back and staying again.

Our large family spent a week at your lovely home. We had a blast! Our young children had a reat time searching for crabs. Aneighbor dog came by daily to play with the kids. Some of us spent the afternoon at St. George Island and visiting Carrabelle. We loved Cherokee Sink and spent 2 days there. Old Joe was a fun history lesson and Posey's seafood was delicious. We hope to come back next year.

You have a beautiful beach house. We have enjoyed every minute spent here. The view is breathtaking. We have walked many miles up and down the beach and have taken over 1500 photos. We had the pleasure of seeing the dolphins on many occasions, as well as the graceful pelicans as they fish. I could not have dreamed a better vacation for my family. Thank you for the use of your wonderful home. I hope to visit again in the future.

Thanks you so much for the use of your home. Our family enjoyed every moment. The weather was wonderful and the 4 boys made many memories during our week. The highlight had to be the dolphins, coming right up to shore. Thank you again. We hope to be back again soon.

Our experience at the Heavenly Sunrise far exceeded our expectations! I visited the home for one week in March 2008 with my mother and my 3 young kids. The home, the beach and the surroundings make for a perfect and relaxing family getaway. The closest little town, Panacea, is quaint and lovely while providing for your every need. This is a wonderful property, we have already passed this jewel on to our family, friends, neighbours and colleagues! A 10 star holiday for rest and relaxation. A piece of heaven on earth!

We were "lucky enough" to spend New Year's week at Heavenly Sunrise with extended family. The sunrises are heavenly--you can see them from every room, jump up and begin exploring or roll over for more rest. The home is well designed for privacy for all guests. Great area. My brother-in-law from Pennsylvania sat on the beach every day and said, "Can you believe it--it's December and I'm sitting on the beach. ... Can you believe it--it's January and I'm sitting on the beach! Everyone enjoyed their time at the Heavenly Sunrise.

We have visited Heavenly Sunrise on many occassions and will continue to choose this beach house for our family vacations in the future. The house is beautiful, new and clean. Its location is a perfect place for a private, quiet vacation...for an individual, couple or family. We rarely see anyone on the beaches (in the fall). It's as if we have the beach all to ourselves. We homeschool and have found plenty of educational activities very near the house (more than you can do in one trip). The water is calmer in this section of the gulf and great for children. We recommend this beach house and beach location to anyone.

Thanks you so much for a wonderful relaxing week with my children and mother. We were so grateful to escape the six foot snowbanks and the minus 20 degree cold. Your home is stunning and the beach is fabulous. What a gem you have!

Visitors from PA, Maryland, Indianana and Tallahassee enjoyed a week in winter at the beach. The beauty of this part of the world came through on warm days, cold days and normal Florida days. A great chance to explore, relax, to learn and remember.
