Welcome to Blue S'Kai, our white sand beach getaway condo is new to the rental market in beautiful, upscale Cayman Kai. Built in 2005, the condominium is part of Kaibo Yacht Club, Phase II. The condo is painted and decorated in a tropical style, except for the master bedroom, which has a tranquil spa-feel to it. The king sized bed in the master bedroom gives you a view of the beach, the palm trees and the water. The second bedroom has two twin beds and there is a full size queen sofa/sleeper that allows a total of six guests. We have also added a playpen that doubles as a crib. Both bathrooms are equipped with full bath tub and showers. One full bathroom is attached to master bedroom. We have a water cooler with a fresh five-gallon jug of water on your arrival. This means you're not buying drinking water. The kitchen is well stocked with granite counter tops, blender, ice maker, coffee maker and toaster. We also provide a cell phone with a credit of US $12.50 to use as you need to, local or long distance, the cellphone can also be 'topped off' everywhere around the island.
We have really made this an enjoyable condo for all ages, there is a TV/DVD player with cable in each bedroom and in the living room. There are four bikes to use free of charge, 2 adult, 2 kids bikes. We have many board games, cards, poker chips, DVD's, books, a CD stereo, an ipod ready boom box, beach toys, snorkel gear, kids swim goggles and fins and even an X BOX with games for all ages. A pump is provided to inflate rafts and other water toys you may wish to bring along.
Blue S'Kai fits whatever you are looking for in a Caribbean vacation. Perfect for a couples getaway or for a family vacation. During the day your toughest decision may be whether to sun by the pool or to take a deck chair under your own palm tree (watch for falling coconuts). We frequently are the only people on the beach or pool (private).
This is a first floor condo, you step off your patio onto a pristine beach, the infinity edge pool, with a Jacuzzi, is just 20 steps away. First floor is convenient because you (and your kids) can go straight into the condo for a bathroom run, to get towels or to refill your rum drink. Second story units require you to walk to the parking area for access (less convenient). Also there is no elevator.
Kaibo Bar and Grill is next door, they have a casual daytime menu, and an impressive dining menu. They also have a beach volleyball court and live music on select weekends. Dining can be on the beach if you choose, literally, some tables are on the beach, go barefoot. The full bar offers a beach bar atmosphere during the day and a very romantic setting at night.
Just past the Kaibo Grill next door or at Rum Point, you can rent jet skis and kayaks or book a snorkeling or SCUBA trip. Red Sail Sports even has a catamaran with a trampoline on the front. A MUST see in Cayman is Sting Ray City (10 minutes by boat)where you can swim with and feed the gentle Southern stingray. You can snorkel, SCUBA or go on the glass bottom boat for those who don't want to get wet. This is an amazing trip, truly a highlight. Our favorite is going to Sting Ray City and snorkeling off your jet ski with Peter at Fat Fish Charters.
Rum Point is about 5 minutes by bike about 2 minutes by car, another beautiful beach with a swimming area, gift shop, casual restaurant and bar, they close at 5 pm, generally busy. Snorkeling right off the beach is spectacular and close in in several locations around Cayman including the North End. You WILL see lots of fish and starfish snorkeling in the Cayman Kai area.
On our family vacations we have enjoyed horseback riding on the beach and ocean swimming with the horses(also a unique experience, only one company on Cayman swims with the horses). The Turtle Farm has a breeding pond and touch tanks, (where you can pick up a turtle for a picture). In Georgetown, a 40 min drive, you can enjoy duty free shopping, restaurants, and a 100 foot submarine dive. For the skaters and surfers in your family there is also a great skate park (for skateboarders) along with a wave machine. For the person who likes a more crowded environment you can drive to seven mile beach which also offers shopping, restaurants and public beaches. Our favorite time has been on the beach at the condo with the kids or in the evening by ourselves.
Grocery shopping is available on your way to Kaibo from the airport or in advance of your arrival, for an extra $25 plus grocery costs (grocery stores are closed on Sundays).
Relax, escape, enjoy, this is a great vacation that you will want to do every year. Don't forget to bring your camera, you'll want to remember this one.

My family of 5 stayed here in January - me, my husband, two young adult sons and teenaged daughter. It's our second trip to Grand Cayman. We fell in love with Rum Point on our first visit years ago, and wanted to return to that area. We were very pleased with the condo in all respects. Our daughter is disabled, and it was great for her to easily get from car to condo and condo to beach. The pool was perfect for her too, with easy entry. The condo had everything we needed. We ate in most nights, and loved having the grill. The few nights we ate out, we went next door to the Kaibo Bar & Grill. We thought about going elsewhere (and I'm sure there are lots of good places!) but the food and drink were great, and we loved just walking home. Rum Point was a lovely as we remembered and it was so easy to spend the day there. We arrived late on a Saturday and really liked hiring Barb to buy our groceries for us. We were just able to arrive, and everything was there and put away. John sent lots and lots of information on all the activities available and just general info that's good to know (like the grocery stores not being open on Sundays). We'd done Stingray City on our last trip, so skipped it this time, but it's well worth doing. Places we did repeat (our kids were much younger last time, so had forgotten them) were the Botanical Gardens, and Pedro St. James Historic Site. We enjoyed these a lot both times. New to us were a visit to the blow holes. There's a local man who seems to be the unofficial guide to the holes. He was great! Good knowledge and entertaining too - we just tipped him a bit at the end. We did the bioluminescence kayak tour, and really enjoyed that. We also visited Starfish Beach. It took a bit of looking to find them, but was worth a visit! Don't be put off by the gates and sign at the end of the road that looks like the area is closed off. If you look to the left of the gate, you'll see a path that will take you right down to the beach. Go to the beach party Tuesday night at the Kaibo Bar & Grill - everything is tasty but the Oxtail Stew was my favorite! We travel frequently, and I've never been more pleased with any arrangements - most informative and responsive owner I've encountered, and a lovely condo. I'd recommend for people with disabilities who do NOT need a wheelchair.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, families with young children.

If you're looking for a beautiful location to decompress this is a great place to be! Having lived in Grand Cayman years before we chose this location away from the more touristy and cruise ship infested seven mile beach. The property owners provided a lot of extras including everything you can imagine about where to eat, what to do, how to get around etc. Even though we lived on the island for years we learned about a new a fantastic activity! ( Night kayaking in mangroves and phosphorescents!) Providing a cell phone was a really nice touch, especially on an island where overseas cell charges can hit the stratosphere. The scuba diving was (as always) fantastic ( Go Lobster Pot Divers!) and if anyone goes to the Caymans without visiting Sting Ray City you've not properly visited the islands. We have been there more than 15 times and the experience is always thrilling! So exciting to see our children enjoying it! One tip to share? Get the mudslides at Rum Point ( not Kaibo), they are the best on the island and worth the 5 minute bike ride!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We enjoyed our time at Kaibo. We appreciate the nice touches that John has added to the condo to make it more like home. There are laundry hampers in each bedroom, a local cell phone to use while on the island, wide selection of kitchen utensils and cookware, along with Tupperware for leftovers. We had wanted to be away from the cruise ships and busyness of Seven Mile Beach, but we didn't realize how many of the near-by restaurants and attractions that we had researched would be closed or have limited hours due to it being low season. Needless to say, we drove 597 miles during our week's stay on Grand Cayman, so we got to explore the island. This is a very well-maintained condo on the bay and it has a swimming pool. We would recommend if you want to get away from it all.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband and I stayed the week of November 3rd and had an amazing time. The owner John was very helpful with all kinds of information such as things to do, driving directions, where to shop, dine and so on. The week we stayed was very quiet, many days we had the pool to ourselves and felt like we were in our own little paradise. The condo was exactly as described, it was super clean and very well stocked. Kaibo Yatch Club next door was nice addition, if we didn't feel like cooking and there are many good restaurants within 10 - 15 minutes drive. We can highly recommend this condo, thanks John for the opportunity and we hope to return soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Blue S'Kai was as pictured, right on the beach, very clean and with every amenity you could ask for. The location was just fine for us, as we weren't interested in the hustle and bustle of 7 Mile. Kaibo Yacht Club next door was very convenient for a quick bite and/or a cold drink. The beach at the condo wasn't great for swimming unless you don't mind sea grass, but a short walk away was the beautiful beach at Starfish Point, with soft white sand, crystal clear water and the giant starfish. A short drive away is the famous Rum Point, another great beach that is a little more lively and a lot of fun. The lunches served were excellent, as were the potent drinks. If you go to Stingray City, and you really must, we highly recommend Fat Fish Adventure's jet ski tour. Check out their web-site for the details and video. On a prior visit to Grand Cayman we took a private charter from a different outfit, and while it was fine, it couldn't compare to Fat Fish. The guide Richard was extremely knowledgeable and went out of his way to make sure everyone was comfortable and that they enjoyed themselves. The jet skiing was too cool and at Stingray City Richard even had a stingray named Freckles who came right over to him and let our party hold her, pet her, even kiss her. Great pictures and a great experience for all, even for those who thought they'd be too scared to do such things. We stayed at Blue S'Kai for a week and never ran out of things to do, whether there at the condo or driving around the island. John the owner and Barbara the caretaker were always available if needed and very helpful regarding any questions. I definitely recommend the condo to anyone looking to relax and enjoy the beauty of Grand Cayman.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My wife, son and I spent a great 9 days in Grand Cayman. The condo was great; well-stocked with plenty of towels, beach toys, snorkel equipment, etc... literally it does have EVERYTHING you need; location is superb! Overall we had a great experience with John, the condo is very well kept. We would definitely go again to this place. Thank you John!Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

My husband, 2 daughters, and I stayed here for a week and LOVED IT. View is lovely, and the vibe was mellow. Access to the restaurant next door was very convenient. The property owner and on site manager were so helpful and accomodating - everything was so easy, from directions to the place, tips on groceries & things to do, available items on site (beach toys, pool toys, beach towels, beach bags), etc. Condo is very well maintained ... A/C worked great, kitchen was well equipped, beds comfy, lots of closet & drawer space. We wanted beachfront where we could allow our kids to run and play with limited supervision, and this was just perfect. We felt safe, comfortable and relaxed here, and just loved it.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This rental was very clean, well-stocked with plenty of towels, beach toys, snorkel equipment, etc. The owner had us well-prepared for the trip, including very detailed driving directions from the airport to the condo. The location was perfect... close proximity to great swimming and snorkeling at Rum Point, amazing experience on Bioluminescent Bay tour (with Maui from The Sweet Spot... excellent guide), boat tour to Stingray City, good walk to Starfish Pointe where we found several both times we went. We traveled with our 3 year old and his sleep monitor. We found that we could sit outside the condo in the evenings (even in the hammocks) with the monitor in tow while our little one slept... we were able to enjoy drinks or appetizers walked over from the grill... NICE! Things to note about Grand Cayman in general: ~British island... British driving (opposite side of the car and road from that in the US... can be a bit of a learning curve!) ~The grill at Rum Point already adds in tip (as do other restaurants on the island)... we knew it but still seemed to miss it a couple of times. ~DO bring as much groceries as possible (as John the owner suggests). The prices may SHOCK you! Prices are already higher since most everything has to be imported to the island... but then you must convert the Cayman dollar to USD... ouch! ~Be aware of what your cell phone coverage is or isn't (including data plans)... we sorely missed our internet access while driving about the island though the CONDO DOES have Wi-Fi. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return. The owner was so great to work with, very helpful and refunded our deposit in a timely manner. Thanks again John!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

My wife, 2 daughters and I spent a great week in Grand Cayman. We rented this condo. Cayman Kai is a great. We did not want to spend time amongst a lot of tourist so we decided to rent in this area. The condo was great. The pictures do not really serve it well. It is even better!. My kids enjoyed the beach and the pool being so close. We were able to have breakfast and dinner at the condo and that helped save some dollars. Overall I had a great experience with John, the condo is very well kept. I will go again to this place. Grand Cayman was just superb.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I and our adult son have only high praise for this 2/2 condo on the beach and would jump at the opportunity to rent it on a future trip. It was clean and comfortable and included just about everything that we needed, other than food. (Although we did not take advantage of the service, for a nominal fee, the property manager will grocery shop for you so that the unit will be fully provisioned upon your arrival.) If you're not interested in playing in the ocean, which is just outside the door of the screened-in patio (which is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee and breakfast), a lovely pool is just a few steps to your left. If you're not interested in cooking during your vacation, you can stroll next door to Kaibo Yacht Club for lunch or supper at the beachfront grill (where shoes aren't even required) or for something a little more "fancy," head upstairs for supper. Need a refreshing treat while playing in the sun and surf? Just visit the beach grill next door during the day for a yummy frozen Mudslide. We enjoyed walking the beach all around the complex and the point next door (which appears to be a public beach that is no longer frequented, so it was more uncrowded play area for us), and walking on the street past Kaibo Yacht Club to Starfish Point (through an entrance labeled "Ivory Kai Pt," where everyone disregards the signs warning that it's private property), where while wading through the very shallow water, we saw numerous starfish. To see even larger ones, be sure to take your snorkel gear - they are just a little farther out. No amenities, so bring whatever you'll need.) There were a couple of days that we hung out at Rum Point, which is not far from the condo, and enjoyed lunch and snorkeling. If you're bringing children, there are plenty of water toys at the condo for them to enjoy, as well as all of the pails and shovels needed to build great sand castles. Even though we felt like we were a world away from reality, when we wanted to keep in touch, we were able to do so because the condo has wi-fi. There were some very rainy days while we were there, and those were great days to hang out inside, play Xbox games, watch movies, and just be lazy. The owner was quite generous with details and information, which was very helpful - I really felt like he cared whether or not we enjoyed our vacation at his family's Cayman condo. His ideas and helpful hints made a difference in the quality of our vacation. Two thumbs up!Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
