We invite you to stay at "The Retreat at Lighthouse Beach". Our oceanfront vacation home is perched uniquely on a vista with a breathtaking view in almost every direction! Lounge in casual comfort while viewing the Cape Arago Lighthouse and ships, barges, and fishing boats crossing the bar into Coos Bay and Charleston. Enjoy watching the surfers "catch a big one". Train your binoculars on the wreck of the New Carissa, visible from the spacious sunny deck. Beachcomb on Lighthouse Beach at low tide, which is easily accessed by our private stairs.
When you are ready for entertainment, the quaint fishing village of Charleston is only 5 minutes away. You can stroll along the piers, venture onto the sand at low tide to hunt for clams, or go crabbing from the docks (crab rings are provided). The beautiful gardens of Shore Acres State Park are 5 minutes away in the other direction. Marvel at the variety and colors of flowers in the historic former estate of Louis Simpson, one of the founding fathers of North Bend. Travel a few more miles down the coast to see and hear the sea lions at Cape Arago State Park.
The cities of Coos Bay and North Bend are only 15 minutes away for shopping, museums, and a variety of restaurants, as well as the Mill Casino. A 30 minute drive south takes you to the city of Bandon and the world-famous Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.
