Iniskeel (Irish translation: Behind the Sea) is situated at the end of a private, seashell-lined lane. The house was built in 1954 as our family vacation home. It boasts five bedrooms and two full bathrooms; unforgettable ocean views and picture perfect sunsets.
We sit waterfront on the bend in Oyster River with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. The house is just steps to the water, one mile to beautiful Harding’s Beach and approximately two miles to downtown Chatham.
There is a footpath from the home to the town landing. This is a great place to rent kayaks, collect shells, and watch the boats come and go. Kids love it down there. It provides hours of fun and exploration. We have been lucky enough, on occassion, to have a fisherman hand us a just-caught striped bass - talk about fresh!
Bring your boat! For those who wish to bring their boat, it is a great spot. The town landing is so close and accessible by foot. Our driveway can accommodate most boats and trailers.
Also, don't forget your bikes! The Cape has a wonderful bike trail, stretching for miles and miles. If you don't want to bring your own, there are places to rent them in town.
Bedrooms:
Tenants are to supply their own bed linens and towels. If you do not wish to bring your own, the homeowner will happily provide you with a local linen rental company. Mattress pads, quilts, pillows, and extra blankets are provided by the homeowner.

This is a non smoking house and we regret, no pets.
The homeowner can also provide tenants with a local company which rents all items needed for children (cribs, high chairs, boosters, potties, etc.). This is great for families not wanting to lug all of that gear. It is very reasonable and clean.

My Grandfather built this home back in 1954. He summered here with his wife and five children for many, many years. I have been coming here my entire life and feel very blessed to be able to now share this amazing place with my three young children. Chatham has become very special to us. My husband proposed on the front patio of the house, we were married in Chatham, and all of our children were christened at St. Christopher's Church, right in the heart of downtown.
My entire family is hoping to keep this house in the family for generations to come. In order for us to do this we have chosen to share this special place with our tenants. We hope other families make memories here that are as happy as ours.
