San Marcos Pass has recently been declared one of the most scenic highways in the country and has been designated as a national scenic corridor protected from billboards and commercial development. The drive to and from town is spectacular. Additionally, West Camino Cielo is the route of several "cloud tours" from Santa Barbara, that bring visitors up out of the summer fog on their way to the Santa Ynez Valley Wine Country. The mountains are an amazing experience from another time. But if it gets too quiet, The Chumash Indian Casino is just over the hill. |
