The Coyote Hole House was great. The location was right off the main road leading the JT Park, which my wife and I spent most of our time in. Kris, the owner, has created a tasteful, simple, comfortable home that was a pleasure to return to after a full of day of hiking, climbing and exploring. All the basic necessities were provided for us to relax and unplug. We especially enjoyed using the hot tub under the stars and a sit in the steam shower with a fresh espresso in the AM (we felt very spoiled). We will certainly be sharing this location with others and will be returning again in the future.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This place is a gem!! Close to JT Village (Natural Sisters, Crossroads Cafe, Pie for the People, etc.) AND on the road to the most scenic entrance to Joshua Tree National Park (West Entrance, the best entrance hands down). But what I really love is the layout and the design, so comfy/cozy, modern luxury done just right (seriously, the spacious shower-steam sauna alone deserves its own review!!). The yard is private and perfect for lounging as well. A fun home base for any Joshua Tree vacation.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our experience ( a mom with a gaggle of girls) was nothing short of extraordinary. There is a favorite line of poetry from David Whyte that says "to feel abandoned is to deny the intimacy of your surroundings"; Kris has created a very intimate space that is soothing in its simplicity and yet thoughtfully provides just what one needs to feel cared for. I highly recommend this home and look forward to coming back and staying longer to sink more deeply into the nourishment of the landscape and the comforts of this nurturing space.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This house is simply perfect. It's clean and well maintained with a mini-gourmet kitchen, comfy beds, large bathroom with steam shower, hot tub, wifi internet, Netflix, etc. I also love the modern/minimalist architecture. The location is fantastic, near the entrance to JTNP and within walking distance of the best restaurants in town. The owner is very friendly and responsive. From now on I won't stay anywhere else.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed here for 3 nights in mid-March. It was minutes away from the Park entrance, down the street from Coyote Hole - a great gentle hike, down the street from a great pizza place and a natural food store. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub after a day of hiking and the steam shower was amazing! The backyard had a great fire pit we used in the evening along with an outside grill. The decor is thoughtful and artistic, the beds were super comfy, and we loved the outdoor speakers we were able to stream music through. We would definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, girls getaway.

Tumbleweeds was exactly what I was looking for in mid week getaway from Los Angeles. The house is absolutely charming and thoughtfully decorated (I loved morning coffee in the backyard). The owner was lovely and a pleasure to meet as well. I highly recommend and the location is great, near Joshua Tree and a great healthy eatery just down the road. It's so much more relaxing than camping in the park. I'll definitely be back.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

Your home is far more charming and comfortable than the pictures even suggest! Cool, eclectic, and cozy, the house was absolutely the perfect place to spend the holidays. We were even able to take breaks from bouldering up at the park to come home for lunch, since it's so nearby, and then spend the evenings relaxing by the fire or in the hot tub. Thanks so much!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much Erin! I am so glad that you had a great vacation and enjoyed the tumbleweed house! I hope to see you back again! enjoy 2011! kris

We had a blast! We spent a weekend at the Tumbleweed house in November. The house was well equipt and cozy. We loved the outdoor fireplace and hot tub. The indoor open fireplace was lovely...and the central heat kept us toasty during the night. We walked to town and checked out the galleries and shopping and loved Ricochet (thanks Rosa) for lunch and good wine!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for taking the time to post Martinus! glad you had fun and found the house comfy! I love ricochet too!

I stayed with a few friends for 3 nights. I'm from New York City. It was awesome! The beautiful night skies, the hiking in the park was out of this world. Joshua Tree is an amazing magical place. The house was clean, comfortable and it was in a great location. We were close to the park, and the little town. We could walk to go get supplies and if we didn't feel like cooking, there were some great restaurants right near by. The house itself was super clean and cozy, we enjoyed our privacy and proximity. This is a great place to stay when visiting Joshua Tree.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Jeanne, So glad you guys had fun. It was nice to meet you! Hope to see you again!
