We stayed here for 3 nights in mid-March. It was minutes away from the Park entrance, down the street from Coyote Hole - a great gentle hike, down the street from a great pizza place and a natural food store. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub after a day of hiking and the steam shower was amazing! The backyard had a great fire pit we used in the evening along with an outside grill. The decor is thoughtful and artistic, the beds were super comfy, and we loved the outdoor speakers we were able to stream music through. We would definitely stay here again!

Tumbleweeds was exactly what I was looking for in mid week getaway from Los Angeles. The house is absolutely charming and thoughtfully decorated (I loved morning coffee in the backyard). The owner was lovely and a pleasure to meet as well. I highly recommend and the location is great, near Joshua Tree and a great healthy eatery just down the road. It's so much more relaxing than camping in the park. I'll definitely be back.

Your home is far more charming and comfortable than the pictures even suggest! Cool, eclectic, and cozy, the house was absolutely the perfect place to spend the holidays. We were even able to take breaks from bouldering up at the park to come home for lunch, since it's so nearby, and then spend the evenings relaxing by the fire or in the hot tub. Thanks so much!
Owner response:Thank you so much Erin! I am so glad that you had a great vacation and enjoyed the tumbleweed house! I hope to see you back again! enjoy 2011! kris

I stayed with a few friends for 3 nights. I'm from New York City. It was awesome! The beautiful night skies, the hiking in the park was out of this world. Joshua Tree is an amazing magical place. The house was clean, comfortable and it was in a great location. We were close to the park, and the little town. We could walk to go get supplies and if we didn't feel like cooking, there were some great restaurants right near by. The house itself was super clean and cozy, we enjoyed our privacy and proximity. This is a great place to stay when visiting Joshua Tree.
Owner response:Thanks Jeanne, So glad you guys had fun. It was nice to meet you! Hope to see you again!

We had a blast! We spent a weekend at the Tumbleweed house in November. The house was well equipt and cozy. We loved the outdoor fireplace and hot tub. The indoor open fireplace was lovely...and the central heat kept us toasty during the night. We walked to town and checked out the galleries and shopping and loved Ricochet (thanks Rosa) for lunch and good wine!
Owner response:Thank you for taking the time to post Martinus! glad you had fun and found the house comfy! I love ricochet too!

Not up to my expectation. The jacuzzi did not work, plus it is a bath tub size jacuzzi. The couch reminded me of a college days couch, old and dirty looking. And living room couches on front porches are very white trash. I will say the bedroom was amazing, very cozy and nice. I would have liked to have seen fresh tea light candles rather than old used up candles sitting around. It's a good location though, close to town and we loved the Natural Sisters Cafe.
Owner response:The jacuzzi is a two person Jacuzzi.....as shown in the photos. The couch is vintage...I won't lie! But it fits the room perfectly....it does get steam cleaned. The (one) couch on the verandah is a perfect place to catch winter sun. We have tons of tea light candles ready to use....sometimes our cleaners forget to switch them....we will try to remember!

We got to leave the smoggy, frenetic, sensory overloadedness of LA for the clear air, serenity and starry starry nights of Joshua Tree... without loosing the comforts of home. What an amazing home - a dinner by candle light and star light on your deck, hours of laughter (and libations) by the fire, a lazy lovers nap in the hammock. Fabulous taste, total synchronicity of colors and vibes. Cool touches (cd's, reading, environmentally friendly everything! Whitman said "Peace is beautiful" This peaceful home is beautiful and we had a beautiful stay here Gracias!

Went to visit nephew for re-enlistment ceremony and the location of this home was great. Convenient to 29 Palms, the National park and Yucca Valley. You can walk to anything in Joshua Tree. Sunrise view from back porch was spectacular. Nicely furnished and very clean with all the comforts of home. Great getaway from modern annoyances.Hiking was great in Joshua tree park and the soak tub was good for our feet afterwards. Thank you Kristen for creating such a comfy hospitable place. We really enjoyed it!

Great house! We recently spent four nights at Tumbleweed and it was a nice experience. The house was very comfortable for the two of us and could easily accomidate a party of 4. The house had everything we needed and we loved the indoor and outdoor spaces. We also really liked it's proximity to the park and to shops and restaurants downtown. Our favorite was Crossroads Cafe.
