  My family and I have been visiting Kiawah Island for over thirty-five years. We have rented multiple facilities from private owners and also the resort. Based on our frequent family recreational visits and several visits for business, I can say with confidence that this rental package provided the best value of any we have experienced.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

  We had a wonderful stay in this cottage. Everything was very comfortable and we had a good time watching the wildlife in the lagoon.We stayed for a month and really hated to leave. The beds were very comfortable and the cottage was well equipped. The owner was very helpful and available by phone if we needed information. Everything was very clean and well maintained. We visited a nearby plantation as well as a tea plantation and of course Charleston several times. Lots to do in the area as well as on Kiawah.

  We rent every Thanksgiving on a different SC beach for family from out West. This was our first time on Kiawah. The house was in impeccable condition - the cleanest and best-equipped of any we've rented - and the amenities the most generous. Upon arrival, we noted one minor repair, called it in, and ResortQuest was there w/in a couple of hours to fix it efficiently and cheerfully. Very impressive service overall. The house is a gem, comfortably and attractively furnished and very well laid out. When the weather cooperated, which was often, we were able to take advantage of the beautiful screened-in porch and deck overlooking the lagoon. Evenings were cool so we got good use out of the fireplace, too. Comfort level of the home was outstanding. Couldn't ask for a better location, which allowed us the pleasures of both the wooded parts of Kiawah but a short 5-minute stroll to the beach along a path where one sleepy alligator had taken up residence. All sorts of birds, too. The house was even nicer than described, and the owner was delightful to work with, offering us much very useful advice about local restaurants, shopping and services. We'd happily return to this house and recommend it highly.

• Amazing Kiawah Beach house

  This is the second time we have stayed at this property. We have been coming to Kiawah for over 20 years. We rented this house because of the 4th bedroom and 3rd bathroom--perfect for our family of 5 plus my mother! The cottage is in a wonderful location, on the lagoon and very private. We enjoyed watching the alligators from the screened porch. The bike path is directly behind the house, so getting to the pool or the beach is a quick 2 minute bike ride or 5 minute walk. The house itself is lovely. It's very well maintained and it is very comfortable. My 3 sons also enjoyed the fact that there were TVs in the bedrooms, which made bedtime very easy! I would also like to add that dealing with the owner has been a delight. They clearly put a lot of thought into making their house a home and we hope to rent the cottage for 3 weeks next year instead of 2!

  I brought my family (wife, daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren) to Kiawah Island expecting to have a fun stay -- and my expectations were exceeded in a big way. The cottage on Sparrow Pond is wonderful. There was plenty of room for all of us in comfortable accommodations and a view from the screened patio at the back that was to die for. We spent the entire week watching alligators swim by (at a safe distance), enjoying the skimmers (a water bird) streaking across the pond, and playing with the kids. The cottage is a 5-minute walk from The Straw Market which offers a boardwalk to a beautiful, uncrowded beach and about 5 minutes the opposite direction to the community pool. I recommend that renters either bring or rent bicycles for the entire stay. That was our preferred mode on transportation on the Island. (Rented from Seaside Cycles - great price - and they deliver to the cottage.) The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful and added to our pleasurable vacation. Nearby restaurants were a little pricey, but the food was wonderful.

As a side note, it is very close to the pond so if you are traveling with small children they will need to be supervised closely while outside.

  Excellent home for the family being together. Bedrooms are accommodating for letting the kids have their space, and the living space is central and convenient for all to be together. Lots of deck and screened in porch space for catching sun during the day. Minutes from the beach also!!!

  This was a great place to spend the Thanksgiving Holiday!! Very quite and relaxing!! Only two complaints - need another shelf in the oven and the trees are too close in the driveway (we hit one! LOL!)!!! Would reccomend this to anyone to stay! Comfty furniture, screen porch was great, and everything we needed was there! Would rent again!

  My 3 sisters and I get together once a year for a "no husbands, kids, or pets", sisters getaway. This year we chose Kiawah Island and Sparrow Pond! We had an absolutely wonderful time! The cottage was clean and roomy with plenty for us to do. (When not giggling ourselves silly!) There were board games and decks of cards for those late night gab fests! Every kind of utensil you'd ever need. Of course there were TV's and videos, but we didn't use them. We seemed to entertain ourselves! The paved walkway is right behind the cottage. We took a quick walk to the beach from the community pool, (which was heated perfectly for October!) Lots of lighting for those late night returns. We were right on the pond and saw white herons or egrets, while dining on the screened porch, or having a cocktail on the outside deck! You'll have to try this lovely cottage. The owners and staff are top notch! We would definitely go back there again!
