I cannot say enough good things about our experience at this lovely apartment. It was so centrally located, well furnished and the owners were so accomodating; they had to meet us on the outskirts of town as our GPS kept leading us to a deadend. Follow their directions not the GPS We were there 6 days and would love to have stayed longer in this beautiful city. The view from the Balcony was delightful as well as being convenient to restaurants and shops within the old town. The only negative was the fact we had to park some distance from the apartment. I didn't mind but my 77 year old husband found the walk up the hill a little tiring. they greeted us with a bottle of wine, cookies and even brought us coffee for the coffeemaker. The owners and their apartment were great. Will definitely recommend to all who need a safe, secure and lovely place to stay in Siena.

As soon as you walk into this renovated monastary you feel you are somewhere special, and as soon as you enter the apartment you KNOW you are! Cristina picked us up from the car park outside the walls and took us on what felt like a tour of the real Siena, the back roads full of locals and flavor, and right to the front door of the building. Once we entered the apartment it just felt like home. The living room and kitchen are open and decorated to feel so homey and warm. The bedrooms are comfortable with plenty of closet space, and with two bathrooms you never feel cramped. The kitchen had everything you could ever need, including an Italian coffee maker (which we used constantly). The views from the balcony are stunning, and is where we spent much of our time while in the apartment just watching the local life of Siena and the surrounding countryside. The location is PERFECT! Just far enough away to be quiet, but close enough to everything you would want to see. The Duomo is a 3 minute walk, and Il Campo just over 5 min, meaning that as you wander the beautiful streets of Siena you (literally) just find yourself in Il Campo wondering how you could be so close. The restaurants in the area are amazing, and the people very friendly. There is an Osteria around the corner that is built in an old dungeon and if we hadn't found it on our last night there, we would have been there the entire time! I was there with two of my girlfriends and we never felt unsafe or out of place, even walking back to the apartment very late in the evening. I would highly recommend Casa Siena and want to thank Cristina for allowing us into her lovely home.

The apartment was exactly as we expected it to be and even better. Cristina was very gracious and helpful. The location was perfect...and the escalator to the lower level and parking was literally out the window. (Free parking a bit tricky, but we always succeeded. ) I would recommend doing Siena first, then pick up the rental car to see the Tuscan countryside...which is fabulous. The washing machine and lines to dry the clothing were super...so pack less than we did. Vegetable stand(and inexpensive wine) just at the corner...groceries an easy stroll..10 minutes...tons of shops and restaurants all within 5 minute walks....view from the bedroom lovely...and afternoon sun made it a perfect place to read..I took a chair onto the little balconey and enjoyed the afternoon. We had a great time.

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children (ages 9 and 12). We had a great month in Siena and this apartment was the perfect home-base. We did have a car, which we parked at the bottom of the hill (we parked on the street in free parking but there is also, as noted in other reviews, a paid lot there as well - we never used it) and then used the escalators to get to the apartment (brings you almost right to the door). The location in Siena was perfect also - we walked to all the sites, and also easily to a major supermarket open 7 days/wk (about 10 - 15 walk), the best bread store in town (Il Magnifico - just up the street), and a local fruit and veggie store (across the street) for last minute purchases. The apartment is super clean - 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a nice-sized living room and a kitchen with everything you could need (even a pasta maker which we used often). The owner was friendly, helpful, and an excellent host - they came immediately if there was a problem and it was fixed instantly (we didn't have any big problems so no worries there.) All in all, it was the perfect base for a month in Tuscany...definitely recommend this apartment to anyone.

Owner response: I'm very happy you appreciated so much my apartment and my city in a season that isn't the best for living in Siena (in February). I hope you'll come back again during the spring or the summer seasons to really live all the events that this city can offer to tourists and to Siena's residents.

Our family had a perfect vacation at Casa Siena. Cristina was very friendly and helpful. Key highlights: Within the city walls Next to the Duomo, but off the main street, very quiet. Next to the excellent Osteria del Divo, one of the best restaurants in the city Excellent kitchen, with full compliment of equipment; pots, pans, dishes, coffee maker, espresso maker, large fridge, stove, oven, etc One large bedroom with an amazing view, waking up to church bells One large bedroom with two beds for kids Nice living room with TV and cable Wireless internet, laundry.... Free parking about a 5min walk away, this is a great homebase to explore Tuscany Staying in the city was great, we loved walking through the narrow streets and being close to all the major sights, restaurants, and entertainment. We also stayed in a farm house later in our trip, which was relaxing, but too far from the fun activities.

The location was perfect: we were right in the middle of everything. It was a quiet place with beautiful views from our bedroom windows to a cathedral. The photos were accurate but we were surprised at how big it was. There were 5 of us staying there and we had plenty of room. The apartment was clean and well-maintained. Cristina came to let us in, answer any of our questions and treat us to a bottle of great wine and almond cookies. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone traveling to Siena. The only thing we wished that it had was a phone for local calls. We had to find another way to call for a taxi. Also if there had been any problems, we couldn't call Cristina. At the end of the street was a small grocery store where we were able to get the basics. We were able to walk to the main square, the Duomo and still be in close proximity to the apartment. Another "plus" is that there is a washing machine. Wet clothing was hung outside to dry. It was a WONDERFUL place to stay!!

This apartment was an excellent choice for us (retired, active, well-travelled couple). The photos and description on the web are accurate, no surprises. Location perfect, a few steps from the rear of the Duomo, another block to the Campo (main square). Property owner very helpful, but not intrusive. We used public transit to visit nearby hill towns and sites - no problems; also some very nice walks close to the center of Siena itself (look for walking leaflets). Loved Siena, loved this apartment, would do it again in an instant.

Owner response: The apartment is located in downtown Siena. The apartment is a first-floor in an ancient three-story townhouse within the walls of Siena. Located halfway between the Duomo and the Basilica of San Domenico, the apartment offers views of the Basilica from both of its bedrooms. From the apartment, a 5 minute walk leads to the Duomo. Piazza del Campo is within a 5 minute walk. From the apartment you don't need a car to visit nearby Florence or the many Chianti hill towns between the two cities. Both La Lizza and San Domenico squares, within a 10 minute walk, offer frequent bus service to a multitude of places within and beyond Tuscany. If you have a car, the nearest parking lot is half a mile away. An automatique elevator arrives to the parking just to the apartment.

We spent six nights at Casa Siena between Christmas and New Year's Day. The apartment is ideally located. It's only steps from the Duomo and Il Campo and had everything two adults and two children (8, 10) needed. Our host, Cristina, was exceptionally gracious. She picked us up at the nearby parking lot, drove us up to the apartment and - after a quick explanation of essentials - left us with a bottle of Chianti and the local almond cookies. Overall, an excellent experience!

We had a fabulous time at Casa Siena! The location is perfect, only 3 blocks to the Duomo and one block to the escalators which take you to down to the parking lot outside of the city walls. Cristina met us at the garage and drove our luggage into town which was really nice. The apartment itself is in a beautiful old building, the furnishings are lovely and each bedroom has its own bathroom. We enjoyed cooking at home a few nights during our stay and really appreciated having a fully stocked kitchen. The coffee and amaretto cookies were a great touch, and just a small example of Cristina's excellent hospitality.

I spent three weeks at Casa Siena last spring and loved it. The apartment was comfortable, attractive, extremely clean, felt very safe and was filled with character. Cristina was very helpful, both before and during my stay and welcomed me with wine, bottled water, and cookies particular to the Seina region. The apartment was in an wonderful area of town, convenient to the main city square and other major sites. I hope to return to Siena and will definitely stay in the apartment again.

We highly recommend Casa Siena which we recently rented for 6 nights. The apartment is large, well equipped and located just a couple of blocks from the Duomo, but still on a very quiet street, in a quiet building and with a great view. It is roomy and decorated with a number of personal items, including posters from previous Palio races won by Selva, the contrada where the apartment is located. We parked in the Santa Caterina parking lot just off of Via Fontebranda the first few nights, but thereafter found free spaces right on Via Fontebranda. There are a series of covered escalators between the Fontebranda and the street the apartment is on, which was very helpful when going back and forth to the car. Cristina was wonderful to correspond with and made us feel very welcome in Siena when we met her after our long flight from Chicago. We also enjoyed the ricciarelli (soft almond cookies) Cristina left for us in the apartment and bought some in Siena to bring home as gifts. We would definitely rent the apartment again if we returned to Siena.

We have just returned from an 8 day stay at "Casa Siena" and can recommend it as ideal alternative to hotel or pension accomodations. The location of the apartment is ideal, and the "landlady", Natalie Cristina, is a warm friendly and helful hostess. The apt. is generously sized, and fully equipped to do some meals if you can drag yourself away from the fine restaurants near at hand. Highly recommended! Ed and Gina Drucker

This was our first European apartment rental and we were extremely pleased. The apartment was wonderful for our stay in Siena. It is ideally located to give easy access to the whole historic area and not too far from parking. Parking is down the hill, outside the city wall, but there is a six-stage escalator to take you there and back. We enjoyed meeting Christina and her lovely daughter, who welcomed us warmly with gifts of water, wine, and ricciarelli. What a nice introduction to the area! The apartment is furnished as though Christina and her family still lived there -- everything you need and very clean and comfortable. While in Siena we used train and auto for daytrips to Florence, Assisi, and other towns and enthusiastically recommend 'Casa Siena' as a base for visiting Tuscany.

Casa Siena was perfect ! Our Hosts Christina and Marco were very helpfull and accomodating. The appartment is perfectly situated in the heart of siena just 2 minutes walk from the main square, just far enough to ensure a nice, quiet spot with an amazing view. The appartment was complety spotless and our 8 yr old son and 9 yr olds daughter were very happy to find that their room was furnished with kids sheets and plenty of simple toys and games which made them feel comfortable and at home. We arrived very late at night and were greeted by Christina who drove us to the appartment ( from outside the walls ). We were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of water in the fridge, a great bottle of local Chiante wine and some fresh local baking which was a real nice touch and showed us their commitment and passion to ensure we felt welcome and comfortable in what was their home before their young family outgrew it. We have no complaints, thought it was a great place, in a perfect location and very good value. We wish Christina, Marco and their kids all the best and hope to return someday !We hope this unit is available for your dates and highly recommend it ! The Thomas family, Lantzville BC, Canada
