RECENT REMODEL - New deck & log siding
Our lake home is a beautiful year round home with a cabin feel but all of the amenities of a home. The home features knotty pine interior with wood floors and a large natural stone fireplace in the center of the cabin. The great room is 2 stories with a wall of windows facing the lake. The outside of the cabin is log.
Inside there are 4 bedrooms with the master bedroom (Queen) and guest room (2 twins) on opposite sides of the main level. Upstairs there are 2 more bedrooms, one with a queen log bed and the second "kids" room with 2 twin beds and a trundle. The loft area is open for extra sleeping or relaxing. There is also a sun room on the main level with a single hide-a-bed.
The property is 450' of lake shore frontage with a huge sand beach in front of the cabin. The water is crystal clear all summer and the elevation is very gradual so it's ideal for children. We have a long dock that can be used for fishing or just sunning. There is also a fire pit on the beach with double swing chairs so enjoy the evenings outdoors. A pontoon boat and kayak are included in the rental. We also have beach toys and bikes for our renters to use.
Shell Lake is a 2600 acre lake known for it's clean water & sandy beaches. All of the usual lake activities are available. There is a public landing in town so you can bring your boat along.

We rented this house for a week in July 2009 and were extremely impressed with not just the cleanliness of the property, but with all the amenities included -- everything was supplied, we just needed to bring clothes, swimsuits, toys for the grandkids, and, of course, food. Having a washer/dryer on site was wonderful, especially with 4 grandchildren! The kitchen was fully stocked with all cooking utensils/pots/pans, etc. There were 6 adults and 4 children and we had plenty of space to sleep and play. The grounds are level so lots of yard games are possible. The wonderful beach area is sandy and shallow so was very safe for our grandkids to play. The adults enoyed the enclosed hot tub. I have raved and recommended this place to many of our friends. I am trying to arrange for several couples to rent this house next spring for several days.

I have rented this cabin for a women's working Board retreat and a get away with another family. Both times it served our purposes beautifully. We sat in the great great room in front of the massive stone fire place talking and planning for hours. The layout is spacious and modern so that taking care of the daily meals is a pleasure. I would highly recommend this cabin and plan on using it again.

I rented this cabin twice. Once for a women's retreat and once for a family vacation. Both times it was spectacular. The water is clear with a nice, flat sandy beach. The cabin has all the comforts of home and more. We comfortably had 8 people and still had lots of privacy. The town of Shell Lake and nearby towns of Spooner and Rice Lake have good restaurants and fun shops. I would certainly recommend this cabin.
