Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2004

Vacation home is owned by an Interior Designer, house is charming and reflects owners love of Marblehead and small coastal towns.

Why the Owner Chose Marblehead

Marblehead has the best of everything! Located on the ocean..Close to Boston, Salem,Peabody Museum, Witch Museums, Cape Ann and more... all so convient to Marblehead.........Marblehead's charm of being a wonderful New England coastal town along with it's shops, restaurants, boating, and water sports offer so much to do...........This particular location is just 2 or 3 blocks away from the downtown shopping area and 2 blocks away from Old Town shopping and restaurant area, and just steps to the ocean and park......of course, the charm of this particular house which was built around 1680!!.....and the wonderful neighbors and beautiful neighborhood make it a great package !!..........Gotta love it!!...I did!!!!!

The Unique Benefits of this House

This house is a bit different than most houses that you will see for rent, the 3rd floor is a seperate apartment, which allows 2 couples or a family and in laws, or family and nanny to all vacation together in the same house and still have privacy. Large fenced in backyard....rare in "Old Town"... allow for a patio area and/or a safe place for children to play in the summer, and in Winter months allow for off street parking......unique to this area.

Location, location, location. What a way to experience Marblehead for the month of June. Home was historically cozy/charming, yet spacious; the yard was a treat to enjoy (my son and dog loved the space); just a hop, skip and jump to shops, restaurants, harbor, Crocker Park, grocery store. Eating in the dining room feels like you are in the Captain's quarters on an old ship - very fun with takeout steamed lobster from Marblehead Lobster Company. Neighbors were incredible, too - very friendly and helpful! Eileen and Kelly (owner and property manager) are the best to work with...so flexible and accomodating! My toddler accidentally broke a window pane, and Kelly fixed it promptly! Beds and linens were very comfortable! As a former flight attendant who has traveled all over the world, I am impressed with this wonderfully historic property!
