Each year, we look for a get-away for our Christmas to New Year family gathering. The location needs to be one that all members of the family would enjoy from the grandparents to the small children. This year the house we were lucky to find proved to be ideal. There was a very well equipped kitchen so we enjoyed having breakfast and dinner at the house. Because of the size of the dining room, we were able to entertain friends from the area with beautiful dishes, crystal and accompanying serving pieces from the home. Because of the close proximity to the bridge from Coronado to San Diego, we were able to be at most of the touristy sights with 15 minutes . Our three year old grandson loved playing soccer in the enclosed rear courtyard. There were toys for our grandson and a pack and play for our granddaughter. The home had bicycles that we rode around the island. With all of the books that were available, there was plenty to chose from depending on your interest. Even the piano was a highlight for our family. This was a very warm inviting home and the homeowner was extremely helpful and accommodating. This is a dream house and location!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Every year my family makes the pilgrimage from Phoenix to Coronado California to escape the heat of Arizona and to enjoy the beautiful beaches and warm friendly town of Coronado Island. This year was no exception, and we were lucky to find this beautifully maintained historic home on the island, adjacent to the golf course, to call home for a week. Unlike other rental properties we've stayed at where there is just bare essentials, this spectacular property had every imaginable item you would need right on site (Everything from ample Kitchen supplies, Grilling setup on patio, tons of books to read on just about every subject, a gourmet kitchen to cook in with every imaginable seasoning on hand, a formal eat in dinning room, comfortable beds, four bicycles on hand to use, internet access, cable TV, and close proximity to the Golf Course, Glorietta Bay, and the city workout center to name a few.) I would definitely recommend this rental property for any family needing extra room and/or any couples looking for a quiet weekend get away. The home is well maintained, cared for, and very neatly and meticulously kept clean. As with the previous reviewer's comment, it was a very sad day for my family when we had to pack up and leave back to Arizona. Definitely a five star rental property!!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

We have been LIVING in this lovely, perfect, Coronado charmer for almost a week now! We have only 3 days left and I fear that I will be crying while driving away! We brought out own pillows and sheets, JUST IN CASE, as we are used to very comfortable beds with soft linens! What a waste of space in the back of the truck! THese beds are softer then the Del which is where we usually stay! We are as happy as clams here and have been riding our bikes around the island like maniacs. Cooking in the super friendly cooks kitchen and basically pretending like we live here. This is a true comfortable family home and we LOVE it. I hate to recommend it actually as I don't want any of my own future planned visits to get booked up:) ENJOY! We could not recommend it enough. THank you Cassie!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.
