Great weekend getaway at the Lake

We love coming to this condo & have returned every summer with our family,including our young son. The owners have updated much of the condo & it is kept very neat & clean. It is warm & welcoming as well as being easy to get to, close to the outlet mall, restaurants, & the lake! I really appreciated the book made by the owners to welcome the guests & inform them about the condo, its amenities & things to do nearby! I have & will continue to recommend this property to friends & family. Can't wait for our next Lake vacay!

Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with young children.

We had a great time and really enjoyed the condo. It looks just as it does in the pictures and was very inviting. Has a great pool and was close to the outlet mall! Would definitely recommend to others!

Compass Pointe has done a nice job on the outside, but the inside of this condo hasn't been updated with the times. The seating on the furniture was awful! My son had to literally sleep sideways on the pull-out bed, as the rail in the center made the bed rise and one corner of the foot-end of the pull-out bed was ripped, causing the tiny mattress to literally fall thru towards the floor. There is only 1 ceiling fan in this condo, which is strangely located in the kitchen. Our first impression was an awful smell, which seemed like someone had cat's in the unit for some time. We had to go purchase candles to attempt to get rid of the smell. The stove is very old and the 1 time my wife tried to fix breakfast on it, the skillet was tilted very badly, so we nixed breakfast in for a trip to McDonalds. The sliding blinds in one of the rooms were very cheap and didn't block any light in the morning time. The toilet scrubbing brush was under the bathroom sink, literally touching the towels, so we had to wash them prior to use. There was a mixup on the dates of use, of which I will take part blame for, but when I was unreachable, as I was out on the lake all day, he began literally cussing on my voicemail thinking that I was trying to avoid him. This is a lake property and I can't believe anyone wouldn't take that into consideration. I paid $300 more for this unit than my family members did for the same time frame, so I would suggest looking around. The view from this unit is also not great. It directly looks at the Lands End Condo's and has no lake view whatsoever. I was also charged $25 by the owners, as we accidentally locked the key in the condo and the maintenance guy had to come open the door for us. According to the C.P. office, we may or may not have been charged for the fee, as the maintenance guy was still on site. I was charged by the owner, so who knows if he was really charged or not. And after all of that I discovered that the window in the kitchen wouldn't close all the way to be locked, so I could have just sent my son in thru there to unlock the door for us. If we had only knew! My family and I visit this area every year and this was our first stay at Compass Pointe, but I assure you I will offer plenty of free advertising going forward for this unit.

Owner response:While there is some truth to this reviewers comments, I.e. the property has numerous updates throughout but it was not a total rehab therefore some items like our appliances are older, there is only one celing fan in the unit located in the breakfast area, and we do front Lands End, etc..., I must say that I believe this review to be a bit unfair.  Unfortunately, as the reviewer mentioned, they would not leave the unit when they were scheduled. After several attempts to enter the property by our cleaning service and several attempts to reach them by phone we had to go the property to get them to leave so that we could accommodate our next renters that were checking in that afternoon.  Once we meet with the reviewer they pleaded that they had small children and no place to go, this put us in a difficult position as we had guests ready to check in and begin their vacation.  Therefore, we allowed the reviewer and their family to stay an additional night at a discounted rate while making other arrangements for the new guests.  We did the best that we could to try and accommodate everyone and it's unfortunate that despite all our efforts the reviewer still feels the need to post such a harsh and what we believe unfair review.  We greatly enjoy our condo for family trips to the lake and believe it to be a warm and inviting place to stay and relax.

Recommended for:Age 55+, pet owners.

Compass Point Condo

We really enjoyed staying at the Compass Point Condos. The condo was very clean, and very nice. Only a few steps to the condo and there was parking very close to the condo. The condo had a new high quality washer and dryer, everything we needed in the kitchen. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very spacious. The pool was great and well kept. The Outlet Mall was very close. Restaurants were close. Listing photos were accurate. It was a quiet place. My friends and I would like to make an annual trip every year, and we would recommend the Compass Point Condos.

Great Condo

Very nice condo. It was just as the pictures show. Clean with everything you could need. Pool in the complex was very large. Location was great, it was easy to get too. Near outlet mall, and main route to everything else. Would stay here again and recommend it to others. View from patio was disappointing though.

Have vacationed at the Lake over the years and this was a great place for family. My kids loved the pool, we had a hard time pulling them out to do all the other things the area has to offer. Great location and the condo was perfect for a family of four. We'll come again.

The place was great. Clean and comfortable unit with two full baths and nice patio area. The complex pool is great! This unit is very close to the mall and several restaurants/bars. Hade a great time, would definantly recommend it!
