Once again we chose to stay at White Sands Village (our 4th time) and again found it perfect for our month-long vacation. Our unit this time is one of the smaller ones in the complex as the outside stairwell takes up some of the space, but it was more than adequate for our needs. It has not been updated as recently as some of the other units, but it is quiet and clean and comfortable, and the price is right. The kitchen was well equipped, and the bedrooms were comfortable. The lanai had plenty of seating, and there were 3 TVs. The complex has just updated the pool area to a "saltwater" pool, and it is lovely. The surf at the beach was higher than usual, and the sand was washing away, so we travelled north to find the calmer swimming areas. This is a "central" location, in that it is 4 miles out of Kailua-Kona, but easy access to swimming, shopping, highways, beaches etc.. White Sands does have lots of stairs, even on the same level, so if one needs an elevator, be sure to confirm that your unit is easily accessible to the elevator. We will alway reccommend this complex to anyone who may be thinking of going to Kona.

The White Sands condo was perfect for our visit to Kona. It is across the street from a great white sand beach and just down the road from Kona. We took advantage of the trolley that stops next to the condo to go in town. The condo was very clean and spacious and we loved the beautiful deck overlooking the garden. Thanks again!

My husband and I rented this condo for our 'escape Canadian winter' getaway, and we couldn't have been more pleased. It is not a luxury unit, but it is so inviting and comfortable that we hated to leave. As stated, the condo is fully equipped and ideally located. We loved the fact that we could walk across the road to Magic Sands Beach and spent lovely hours there just watching the boogie boarders and the waves. Most days, we found the waves a bit too large for us to enjoy swimming (this is typical of the winter season, we are told), but we wouldn't have traded the beach for anything! The proximity to Keauhou Shopping center made it easy to buy groceries, drug store supplies, go to a movie, or enjoy the restaurants there (the Thai place is quite good!). We also loved that we were so close to Kahaluu Snorkel Beach Park...like swimming in an aquarium! The condo made a terrific base for exploring the entire island, and we were fortunate to have the time to do so. It is an easy drive to the beaches of Kohala coast, or south to Captain Cook, and while you could do a day trip to Volcano National Park, we would recommend staying overnight there to explore that wonderful part of the Big island. The unit itself was clean and very comfortable. Both bedrooms have excellent beds (this is important when staying longer!) and the kitchen lacked for nothing. The lanai was well set up with a table and chairs where we ate all our meals, as well as a settee and extra chairs so we could sit and read. The location of the unit, in the back building away from the road noise and pool hubbub was perfect for us...it felt private and peaceful all the time. We chose not to use the AC, and found that the floor fans combined with the lovely breeze from the screen doors to the lanai made it very comfortable. There were lots of towels, including beach towels, and loads of little extras like a cooler to take to the beach, beach chairs and an umbrella, all of which we enjoyed. Jonathan and Marjorie were excellent to deal with, and we would highly recommend this condo, whether staying for for a week or a month! You will not be disappointed!

We had the pleasure of staying in your condo for a month. The location was great. Walked over to Magic Sands many times. Snorkeled at Kahaluu. Your location is so convenient. Just up the street for shopping or into town for a night out. We also enjoyed seeing the parrots across the driveway in the afternoon. Would gladly stay with you again and hope we have the chance to do just that. Also the location of the condo overlooking the grounds made it so quiet it was wonderful. Thanks again. Warren & Alycia

My friend and I stayed in the welcoming condo along with my toddler daughter in the summer of 2010. A lovely time was had by all. The condo is in a perfect location. We couldn't have asked for more than to be right across the street from the ever so wonderful White Sands Beach. Everything else we wanted and needed seemed to be 5-15 minutes away, too -snorkeling, grocery/drug stores, farmers markets, and lots of great eateries. Add to that the condo had essentially all needed amenities, and not only was this a beautiful, tropical vacation, but a hassle free one as well. Having a toddler in tow, this was greatly appreciated. We used the kitchen daily and enjoyed our breakfasts on the lanai, which has a very pleasant view of trees, flowers, and a tennis court. Pretty birds come and go. The nice view made this condo all the more special. The owners of this condo are so gracious, as well. We really liked all the recommendations they provided us for places to eat and other things to do. They came in real handy for those, "Where should we eat today?" moments, or the "Where's the drugstore again?" question. I trust you will enjoy your stay at this wonderful condo in beauiful Kona.

We had a great stay at the condo. Everything was met our expectation. We will get back to stay again when we go to kona. It was like the home away from home, the vacation home. Thanks Jonathan and Majorie for sharing your vacation home with us.

We had a great time in Kona and staying in Jonathan & Marjorie's lovely condo. It was very well supplied with everything we needed to thoroughly enjoy our time there. People were very friendly in this complex. Everywhere we went people would say "How do you like Jonathan & Marjorie's place?" We felt quite at home here and it was very hard to leave. Thank you, Jonathan & Marjorie for allowing us the use of your lovely home.

The condo was very large and beautifully maintained. Everything that one would want on a vacation was readily available and the office was very helpful. It certainly would be a place to stay again if we are on the Kona side of Hawaii. Thank you.

We had a truly memorable vacation at Jonathan and Marjorie's. The condo was cozy and conveniently located. We were on Magic Sands Beach in seconds! Kona is spectacular, and White Sands Village is right at the heart of it. The staff at WSV was warm and friendly, and the accommodations were great. When we can go back to the big island, we will be sure to contact Jonathan to see if the condo is available. Jonathan was great to work with and we got our security deposit back very promptly. I can't say enough good things about our trip and our experience! Mahalo!

Really enjoyed staying at White Sands. Relaxing and homely! Big Island is great and this is an awesome place to base yourself from - great beach opposite! Only MUST is a car because its about 10 min drive from main drag, which is really the only downside as you cant just potter into main part of Kona!

We spent an exciting week at Jonathan and Majorie's condo from September 12 to the 19th, 2008. The personal service provided by the owners, sharing their favorites list and checking to see if all was well was greatly appreciated. The condo was clean, comfortable and well stocked with everything you forgot at home. We loved the great location, close to everything but far enough from the main street to enjoy the songs and sounds of the birds. We are already making plans to come back and share the beauty of the island with family members. We would recommend this particular rental as an exceptional place to feel at home while exploring all the delights the island has to offer.

We had a terrific stay at Jonathan and Marjorie's place. It was quiet, clean, comfortable, and directly across the street from a beach where we snorkeled daily and saw sea turtles. The condo had everything we needed-- laundry, boogie board, even tennis rackets-- and was plenty spacious for us and our friends (4 of us in total). Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Thanks for everything!

Marjorie and Jonathon, We had an excellent time in a great place! Thanks! Perfect for the 3 of us. White sands beach is AWESOME. I love body surfing and got a great taste there. The cove near the 4 mi. marker, for just a walk away, had some great snorkeling with fine reef-age, coral, fish, and lava tubes. We definitely like being away from the Kona scene in town. Jameison's is all nice and romantic, but our dinners and breakfasts on the lanai had us feeling so "at home". All that great affordable fish from KTA and all that ripe tropical fruit from the Farmer's Market. (2 weeks here didn't hurt either). Made some friends by the pool, especially our 7 year old son, who loved mixin' it with the locals, too at the beach. All clean and comfy, Hanapa'a, as dey say. Hope to book again ... Soon! Matt

We had a really great holiday thanks to Jonathon. The condo was really great, with all the things we needed to make it an easy trip. It was comfortable and had great access to the beach and downtown. Jonathon gave us great tips and we used all of them including where to shop, eat and snorkel. The whole experience was great! Can't wait til we can return.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful, comfortable and incredibly well supplied condo. The location was perfect for all activities on the big Island and there is a snorkeling/swimming beach across the street. The staff on the premises was helpful and informative. The spacious rooms have an elegant yet homey feel. The Lanai opens out from the Master bedroom and also from the living area. The unit's location is very quiet and the designated free parking is a huge bonus. The pool area is large and inviting. We hope to return.

We had a wonderful time. The condo is very nice. The location is ideal- right across the street from White Sands Beach, just down the street from fantastic snorkeling and not far from downtown. It was a great family vacation. We wished we could have stayed longer.

JONATHAN, YOU HAVE THE BEST LOCATION OF ANY OF THE CONDO COMPLEX'S. RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM WHITE SANDS BEACH IS THE BEST PLACE TO BE. ALSO, IT'S A REALLY NICE UNIT THAT HAS ALL THE COMFORT'S OF HOME, BUT IS EVEN BETTER THAN HOME. WE LOVE TO WALK ACROSS THE STREET TO JAMIESON'S FOR A SUNSET DINNER. IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER. THE BIG ISLAND IS OUR FAVORITE AND WE WERE SO GLAD WE CHOSE TO STAY AT YOUR PLACE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WHO IS THINKING ABOUT RENTING IT. WE HAVE STAYED THERE TWICE AND ARE HOOKED! We had the most fabulous 10 days on the Big Island and can't tell you how much we enjoyed staying in your condo. It was quiet, very comfortable and nicely decorated, and had all the amenities we would have wanted. The office staff were very nice and helpful too. We were amazed at (what we considered to be) the condo's perfect location -- right across the street from a great beach and a wonderful restaurant, just down the street from the best snorkeling bay on any of the islands, and away from the traffic of Kona. We explored as much of the island as we could, from Kilauea to Waipio to Pololu Valley, but also just enjoyed being lazy and hanging out by the pool. We were so sad to leave, but had a romantic last- night dinner at Jameson's at sunset. It just doesn't get better than that. Looking forward to going back -- very soon! Thanks so much for everything.
