Come and enjoy Tivoli Cottage, a charming, spacious and comfortably furnished summer vacation home situated on Lake James, a beautiful, 1,345-acre lake in Northern Indiana's Lakes Country. It is just five miles from Angola, Indiana, and 50 miles from the Fort Wayne International Airport.

Lovely Pokagon State Park is a short car trip away, and is located on the same basin of Lake James as Tivoli Cottage. The cottage, itself, is located in a peaceful, wooded area on a secluded drive, with ample parking.

Tivoli Cottage has an 18'x19' living room, with ample seating. French doors lead to an 11"x24" lakefront, enclosed porch/family room where you can enjoy watching cable TV/DVD in comfort after the sun goes down while seated on a large sectional sofa, which opens to a queen-sized sleeper. Also, there is a formal table and chairs for dining.

There are two bedrooms, tastefully decorated. Each has a queen-sized bed; with the lakeside bedroom having built-in closets and dressing table. Also, you may enjoy late-night TV viewing in this bedroom.

If you like to cook, Tivoli Cottage offers a clean, fully-equipped kitchen and dinette area to enjoy your morning coffee or tea. If you also enjoy grilling, a charcoal grill is provided outside. Sorry, but you will have to wash the dishes yourself, as there is no dishwasher, but we think that adds to the ambience of a summer cottage.

A 72' dock extends right out onto the lake and has a wide platform for sunning and swimming. It affords room for tying boats if you have your own or wish to rent one from a nearby marina. There is a small rowboat if you like rowing.

Lastly, you can enjoy a great view of the lake and sunsets from a concrete terrace with seating.

If, after enjoying the lake, you wish to explore other activities, nearby areas offer a diverse choice of entertainment: golfing, dining, antiques shopping, bowling, horse-back riding, go-carting, movies, etc. It is a short 30-minute car ride to the Auburn/Cord Duesenberg Museum and the renowned Kruse Car Auction, which is held every Labor Day holiday in September. The WWII Victory Museum is also located in Auburn. Another tourist attraction is Shipshewana, Indiana, an area defined by its Mennonite and Amish communities.

  • Trivoli Cottage was a little bit of heaven on earth. We enjoyed every minute of our time there and didn't want to leave. It is comfortable, cute, quaint and well furnished. We didn't miss the washer & dryer. The clothesline and sun were enough.

  • We loved staying at this cottage. We liked the location of where it was on the lake and also great for taking walks outside and about. The rooms were nice, very clean, we got lots of good use of staying here. We hope to stay again another time but hopefully the weather will be warmer than we came.

  • Tivoli Cottage is a charming rental on Lake James. It is in a great location right on the 1st basin. The owners keep it very neat and organized. We met the neighbors, who were very friendly, as well. When we left, we forgot a few items, and the Andersens were kind enough to mail them to us. We highly recommend them and Tivoli cottage.

  • Tivoli Cottage is positively charming! It is beautifully maintained, well equipped and absolutely spotless. We were able to swim (with our three preschool-aged children) right off the dock. The cottage is located on a secluded lane, and has two great patios (one in front and one in back). The cottage does not have a dishwasher. I thought that that would be a big deal, but it wasn't (not having a dishwasher fits into the "old-school" lake cottage charm of Tivoli). Also, the cottage does not have a washer or dryer. I'm a "wear things once" type of person, so a having a washer and dryer is very important to me. Plus, as mentioned before, I have three children! However, when it was all said and done, I didn't really miss the washer and dryer. It was nice to have a week off from doing the laundry! There is a laundromat close by, but I never even made it there. Just make sure you bring enough clothes to compensate for no washer and dryer. The Andersens (the owners) were knowledgeable, easy to work with and a delight to get to know. We definitely plan to return to Tivoli! We're also recommending it to friends! If you're thinking about renting and would like to contact me, please feel free. I'd be happy to share more about our Tivoli/Lake James experience and give suggestions about fun things to do while in the area.

  • What a lovely cottage! Tivoli has that old school charm, but is meticulously maintained, and has everything you would need for a wonderful vacation on the lake. We used this cottage as overflow for our regular summer vacation to the family house on Lake James. Our friends liked it so much they spent nearly all of their time there!

  • We had a wonderful week in Tivoli Cottage. The setting is quite and private, the lake views are great, and the mature trees shade the site so with the lake breeze we hardly used the AC. The owners were great to work with and promptly answered any questions we had. The cottage was clean and well furnished, and the back porch is a perfect place to hang out at the lake. It's too bad the week came to an end and we had to come back home.

  • Our stay at Tivoli Cottage was perfect! The owners were a delight! The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable. The cottage is very private as well. The concrete patio overlooking the lake was a great place to view the sunsets after playing on the lake all day. Pokagon State Park was worth the short trip for a couple of hours at the beach. Overall a great place to spend a vacation, highly recommended! We will be back next year!

  • We vacationed at Tivoli two years in a row. 2007 & 2008 The home is wonderful! Very clean, comfortable beds, beautiful view of Lake James and has almost everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Owners and neighbors of the cottage are nice!

  • Our stay at Tivoli Cottage was fantastic and we will be coming back to stay there again. The cottage had great windows that exposed the rooms to the fantastic lake breeze and it had everything we needed for a comfortable trip. We swam right from the dock and we caught a number of catfish in the evening. Great experience which really exceeded my expectations. The owners were also very organized and easy to work with. You won't be disappointed. Michael
