Charming contemporary house on 2 tastefully landscaped acres in prestigious neighborhood at East Quogue-Quogue border. You can reach beautiful quiet Southampton town’s open ocean beaches by a relaxed bike ride (15 min) or drive (5 min) through Quogue mansions area. Or sail, canoe or windsurf at nearby Shinnecock or Peconic Bays (5-15 min drive). Enjoy hiking and birdwatching at nearby Quogue wildlife reserve, with children's zoo and Nature museum. Or spend an afternoon visiting the North fork wineries, located only 15 min away. There are several golf courses within a 30 min driving radius.
Dine at a large variety of restaurants within 30 min radius in Quogue, Westhampton, Southampton, or Sag Harbor. There are many antique shops in the area and various shopping centers within a 20 min driving range. The quaint East Quogue and Quogue villages are ideal for biking or walking; there is a very attractive library in Quogue with free movies, internet and various community activities (children book readings, classic movie discussions, yoga classes, etc).
We prefer to rent our house to families or to responsible adults over 30 years old. No GROUPS or PROMs, please.
The house has a fully maintained clay tennis court and a 20x40 heated pool on a large, recently built mahogany deck. Its main floor boasts an elegantly renovated kitchen with wood cabinets and stainless steel appliances (european-style refrigerator, stove, wine cooler, 2 dishwashers), next to the living room with cathedral ceiling and wood-burning fireplace. The main floor has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms including the Master suite with kingsize bed and jacuzzi, the Junior Master suite, third bedroom and a study or fourth bedroom with fast internet conection. The second floor has 2 additional bedrooms and a full bathroom. The fully developed basement has an entertainment center, fussball, games and 2 additional bedrooms with a bathroom. The house has central air conditioning, a baskeball area and a 2 car garage. There are several bikes for use by the renters. Upon request, additional photos of all rooms will be sent by email.

- Property is located in Fox Hollow Road, a residential street with beautifully kept contemporary houses, at the border with Quogue. The advantage of East Quogue is that the properties are 2 acres (compared with 1 acre at Quogue). This, combined with with woods and plenty of reserve (unbuilt) areas around provides a calm, uncrowded environment. All house windows have a nice view of trees and garden.

Why the Owner Chose East Quogue
The Quogue area attracted us because of its elegant simplicity and its peaceful, quiet beauty. Yet it is only 15 min away from the more busy Hamptons scene (e.g. Southampton) with plenty of art museums and quaint restaurants. The easy access to the artistic scene at Sag Harbor (only 30 min away) and the North fork wineries (15 min) is also an attraction to us. Finally, access from New York city is much easier than for the rest of the Hamptons !
The Unique Benefits at this House
We are dedicated gardeners and take pride in having constructed a beautiful garden. We enjoy biking to the Ocean beaches in Quogue and watching the sunsets and the special light in the area. We also enjoy participating in community activities, e.g. those organized by the Quogue library.
For best use of the landmarks A-P, please zoom in and out. A is the location of the house on Fox Hollow Drive. Riverhead-Quogue road is the border between Quogue (left) and East Quogue (right).
A wonderful reserve with Nature museum on lake with ducks and geese, children's zoo, lake and quiet hiking trails among woods. Great for bird watching
A 10 min bike ride along shady Old Depot road leads to Quogue main street with mansions and 9 hole golf course. Only 5 more minutes to ocean beaches.
Surrounded by elegant mansions, this wonderful library organizes many community activities (movie groups, art exhibits, yoga classes, children activities). Free movie rentals.
A 5 min car ride ride or a 15 min bike ride takes you to Dune road, with gorgeous views of the bay, restaurants, a salt-water nature reserve and several public beaches.

Reach Shelter Island using a ferry from near Sag Harbor. Nice houses and restaurants with bay views. Ferry to Greenport takes you to wineries and completes a circular tour.
Set up in very nice countryside, the wineries offer wine tasting. They are accessible from the west through route 25 or from the east through ferries from Sag Harbor and Shelter Island.
