We just returned from a week in Cheryl’s beautiful home on Beech Mountain. What a great place! It felt like we were in a showroom for a furniture store with all the perfect decorations and furniture. Extremely comfortable. My wife's favorite area was the upstairs den with the fireplace and comfy sofa looking out the huge windows. Everything you needed and more was available in the kitchen. Every deck had comfortable furniture and the hot tub was the best we have ever seen! This place is super! I give it 5 Stars.

Our family stayed in your home January 2 - 5th 2012. What a wonderful getaway! We have 2 sons, the youngest in his last semester of college. We brought them and their girlfriends for a ski/snowboard week. The trip was glorious! The house was well apportioned and perfect for the not-yet-married crowd, having enough beds and baths to accommodate. The multiple living spaces provided opportunities to spend time together or separately. I personally enjoyed the upper living room with its L-shaped sectional sofa overlooking the mountains and slopes with the Christmas tree and fireplace a warming welcome. Great place for reading! We had 6 inches of snow the first night and temps were -37 on the slopes the first day. You would never know it - we were warm and toasty inside. The house is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood near the resort. It was just perfect. We all had such a wonderful time - and feeding the family was no problem with the excellent kitchen provisions. And if your guests should need it - we found the local hospital very friendly and efficient. One girlfriend was injured by another skier and needed a knee x-ray. We were in and out in 1 1/2 hours and experienced no waiting. We had such a wonderful time - I only wish we could have stayed longer. So very blessed to spend our last remaining holiday before our children leave the nest with you. You made our stay peaceful, sweet, and very very happy. Thank you for opening your home and faith to us. As a Children's Minister, I was very needful of your hospitality following a very busy holiday. God Bless you always.

Joe and I had a wonderful week at your beautiful home, the "Heavenly Hideaway". Everything was PERFECT, even the (deverse) weather, SNOW in October, what a treat to wake up to! On our first night we were delighted to see four deer in your backyard! This became a game or quest to gets some pictures of these regal animals, which was harder than it seems. Everytime Joe and I open the door to sneak out, all we would be able to get was their white tail ends, The last morning of our stay I became more determined that ever, I even considered crawling on my hands and knees, but thank goodness there was no need. One on the does stood perfectly still for me, I was able to take serveral GREAT pictures of her at very close range (maybe 10 ft)? I would be remiss not mention how beautifully decorated your home is, especially the Christmas decorations! All the of wants and needs were well taking care of, you thought of everthing! The only thing that was missing was our son, who is in the Navy in San Diego and who LOVE to be here in the winter, especially for snow skiing....Anyway, thank you soooo much for our beautiful memories! p.s. One more thing, Joe and I especially LOVED the hot tub after a long hike on the trails. The radio station that it was set on was from our era, the "Oldies but Goodies"! We sang along like we were back in our teens and early twenties....Those were the days ;D Blessings to you and yours, Trish and Joe

I am a bit late in writing this, but wanted to make sure I commented on our recent stay at your beautiful home. It was a perfect place to celebrate our anniversary and a much-needed getaway. We loved the elegant and comfortable furnishings, and the Christmas decorations were gorgeous. They put me in the Christmas spirit early this year! We loved the Bibles located through the home and they reminded us of the true reason for the season. The kitchen was very well stocked, and we ate in most of our meals. We've rented several different homes in the area and never encountered one that had so many staple food items stocked in case we needed them. So much detail and thought has been put into this house and into the comfort of those who are staying in it. The top of the line hot tub was a daily treat - it was very windy during our stay and we had to keep fishing leaves out of it, but it just added to the mountain experience. My husband thoroughly enjoyed using the grill, and I enjoyed having him do the cooking! We could not have asked for a better weekend or a more beautful place to spend it. Thank you so much for making our weekend special!

It is always wonderful for my family to meet here! This place is always immaculate and convenient to all the area attractions. My personal favorite is the Jacuzzi on the back deck and also the hammock. We will continue to come year after year for the fall colors and the most wonderful place to stay!

SNOW - OCTOBER 1-2

We booked your beautiful home in hopes of seeing the fall foliage while visiting The Land of Oz Annual Party but instead we got SNOW! What a perfect home to enjoy the first snowfall of the season looking through the many windows and staying cozy and warm by the 3 fireplaces. Our kids and grandchildren enjoyed your home as much as my husband and myself. It was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. We felt at home the minute we stepped inside the door. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to enjoy your home while we experienced one of the closest to perfect vacations we have had in a long time....

Spring Break

Me and some friends rented this comfortable get away cabin for 3 nights and 4 days and I was amazing. They have everything you could possibly need to feel at home. The owners were very nice and helpful. The cabin featured things that you wouldnt find at other rental properties and the decor was outstanding. The area was very peaceful and comforatable for the mood. If I had to say one bad thing about this property, it would be: "We hated to leave". This property would be a great recommendation for any family. The cabin is big enough for a family but small enough to keep everyone together and enjoying each other.

This was the nicest house we have ever rented. Every thing was top notch. The house is decorated beautifully. The beds and lines were so comfortable. We loved seeing the deer eating in the front yard. We definitely will be renting this house again. Our children enjoyed skiing and we feel very blessed to have found this home. We had a wonderful time. The cabin was just perfect with our two grandchildren and grown children. Having the 3 levels allowed everyone to have some quiet time and then get back together for games. Thanks for the opportunity to stay at your home and we will definitely like to stay again

The Thomas family would like to say "Thank you" for a perfect White Christmas! We arrived on the 23rd with snow covering the trees, etc while the roads were clear. However, beginning Christmas Eve night, it snowed & was still snowing when we left on Monday morning, the 27th! We had over 2 feet of snow & it was absolutely GORGEOUS! You...r home is so beautiful, elegantly warm. Everyone enjoyed the fireplaces, wonderful views and your Christmas decorations were just perfect! Scott & I were especially excited about the decorations because of our house fire & being displaced, unable to decorate our home. We loved the Bibles placed throughout & definitely could feel God's presence. Thank you again for sharing your home with us. In the summer of 2009, during one of our 100+ degree days, my best friend from college and our families decided we wanted to go to NC after Christmas and hopefully see a little snow. We began searching websites for a rental that was large enough for both families to sleep and roomy enough not to get on each other’s nerves. We knew we wanted to be near the ski slopes so we could at least see man made snow but have enough to do inside of the home just in case it was too cold for our Florida blood. From the moment we saw the pictures of this gorgeous home we knew we had found our vacation “castle”. The owner’s, Cheryl and Roger Gilliam, were fabulous to work with and this vacation far exceeded our expectations. The home is everything the pictures show and more, it is beautifully decorated with every possible amenity you could imagine and has a warmth about it that makes you feel at home. The location is ideal for winter activities, skiing, sledding, ice-skating, etc. We were blessed to have more than 3 feet of fresh snow while we were there and the owners provided two sleds that allowed us to enjoy every waking moment playing outside this home and around the neighborhood. After playing outside all day their hot-tub was the ice cream on the cake. It was invigorating soaking in the hot tub with snow surrounding us but also a little surreal realizing we were not freezing. We will definitely come again and would recommend this home to everyone we know. This was, by far, one of our best vacations we have all had together and we thank the Gilliam’s for everything.

The only thing higher in Beech Moutain is the level of luxury and class this home offers. We were in the area for road cycling and the area exceeded expectations and to come home to such a comforting home always made that last climb doable. We'll be back!

What a vacation property! This home is first-class and appointed with wall-to-wall luxury. From the inside to the outside, the decorations and attention to detail make you feel pampered and ready to enjoy everything the mountains have to offer. Only two regrets, not getting there earlier...and having to go home.
