Beautiful house

Guest: Daniel (Seattle, WA)
Date of Stay: 05/05/12 Review Submitted: 05/15/12

If you're looking for a place to stay in Colorado Springs, stop looking. This is perfect for all but the smallest groups. It's cozy enough for just a handful of people, but it could sleep more than 10 comfortably if you have a big group. Great views, lots of sunlight, nice furnishings, and very conveniently located blocks from the Tejon Street's downtown shops and Colorado College.

Great time at Majestic Mountain Manor!

We had our daughter's sweet 16th birthday party here and the owners really went out of their way to accomodate us by extending hours for an overnight stay & being flexible with numbers, etc. It was perfect for our needs! The kids walked to the park to play, decorated the basement for dancing, and the big dining room looked grand with the cake and all the party decorations. The house itself was wonderful & had a large kitchen. The TV room was comfortable for late night movies. We enjoyed sitting outside on the front porch or backyard. Thanks so much to the owners!

Great place! 16 college students and 3 adventure education instructors enjoyed a great stay here! The location is great for garden of the gods, red rock canyon open space and north Cheyenne canyon where our numerous climbing, hiking and mtn biking adventures took place. The house is also within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Tim and Dawn are excellent owners and went above and beyond to make our stay truly great!! Our group would highly recommend this place! :)

Guest: Na Udat (Louisville, KY)

Stayed with a group of friends for our wedding - this place was perfect. Huge house with lots of space to sleep, a great "hub of operations" for all the wedding festivities for the week. The place was larger, more well-furnished and well-equipped than I anticipated. The location was perfect for getting to downtown quickly, had a beautiful front porch, and was just what the doctor ordered.

Review of Majestic Mountain Manor

Guest: Kristin (Indiana)
Date of Stay: 09/21/11 Review Submitted: 10/03/11

This house worked perfectly for our needs. We held an office retreat there for nine of us women. We had adequate sleeping room and used the living area for our meeting. The location was ideal, walking distance to restaurants and the nice park along the river. We were also a short drive from many area attractions. Everything in the house was clean, and the house was well supplied. We would highly recommend this wonderful place!

Wonderful old house with lots of character but all the modern amenities you need. We had 3 families and had plenty of room. Great location close to restaurants and shops downtown and close to interstate to reach all of the springs attractions. My kids loved the kids room filled with games!I personally loved the running/biking trail right behind the house that looked over the creek and had mnt views while I ran. We will definately go back next year!!

We just spent four wonderful days in Colorado Springs at the Majestic Mountain Manor. The house was perfect for our large group of 12, ages 4-75. The large and well stocked kitchen allowed us to cook all of our meals and save money on eating out. We used all of the rooms in the house and never felt cramped in any way. We especially loved sitting on the porch. The location was ideal for walking to the shops and just a short distance to all of the local attractions including Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, Manitou Springs, Pikes Peak Cog Railway and the Broadmoor. If you're headed to Colorado Springs, this is the place to stay!

This is a cozy, clean home that has been well maintained. It's very spacious and provides privacy for multiple familes to stay comfortably. It is in a convenient location downtown and centrally located near the attractions in Colorado Springs such as Pikes Peak, Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, etc. The owner, Dawn, is very personable. She was helpful in answering our questions and offered suggestions to great restaurants. We would definitely choose to stay here again.

Date of Stay: 07/03/11 Review Submitted: 07/10/11

We found this home on-line, read all of the reviews and decided it was perfect for our family. We were very pleased with our find. Everyooone fell in love with the space and the privacy of their own rooms when needed. The kitchen was the most popular place to be. The house was spotless and felt like we were home. Tim & Dawn were very helpful , everything was just as they had said it would be. We had a little rain a couple of days, but we were able to enjoy the porch- swings and game room downstairs. We know we will be back . Thank you for letting us stay in your home.

Six of us stayed at Majestic Mountain Manor in May 2011 while on a cycling trip to Colorado Springs. It is a well appointed, clean home in the heart of downtown. The owner was very responsive and made sure that we enjoyed our stay in the house as well as Colorado Springs. She was full of very helpful information regarding activities and dining. I would highly recommend this vacation home.

Perfect In Every Way!

Guest: Happy Family (Houston, Texas)
Date of Stay: 04/21/11 Review Submitted: 04/25/11

Our group of 5 included parents, high school son & college age girlfriend and grandparents. Everyone loved this house! We were in CS to attend son's college sport tournament at nearby Colorado College. This is a beautiful big house that caters to everyone's needs. Each room is large and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is big enough to prepare a large meal and the breakfast table became a warm place to visit and play games. The multiple living areas make it easy for people to spread out as they want (college kids downstairs, adults upstairs). The swings on the front porch were perfect for relaxing and visiting. We hosted the college team and parents (~ 30 people) for dinner at this house and everyone was comfortable and commented on how great the house was. We really enjoyed taking the provided bikes on rides to the downtown shops and to Colorado College. The house is lovely, well maintained and the owners great to work with. We made a lasting family memory and will definitely return.

9 friends (all of us from Colorado Springs!) gathered for a time of fun and fellowship. The Majestic Mountain Manor welcomed us with its warmth and beauty. The house was clean and well maintained and Dawn, the hostess, was wonderful to work with. We loved the living areas and the fun of setting fabulous feminine tables in both the dining room and kitchen areas. The weather was beyond perfect in January and allowed us to enjoy the front porch! We were close to home but it felt like we were far away - which was perfect. Much laughter and living was done in our time together. We WILL return!

Majestic Mountain Manor is one the best appointed homes we've stayed in. The photos on the site don't do justice to the living space available. The kitchen is really well appointed, and was stocked with all the dry goods we needed to get started the first morning. The gathering multiple gathering rooms allow everyone in our large family (five children, four grandchildren + nephew's family) the space they needed. The house is located conveniently close to down town, to walking paths, and to access to the interstate. I will definitely be staying here when we return to the Springs if the house is available.

Date of Stay: 12/22/10 Review Submitted: 01/03/11

We stayed at the Majestic Mountain Manor over Christmas 2010, the beds were incredibly comfortable with really nice linen. Dawn had gone to a lot of trouble decorating the house for Christmas, the tree was lit up when we arrived and even the bathooms had Christmas towels! As we were travelling with our 18mth old we had booked a crib and highchair etc and Dawn had organised all this to be set up before we arrived. She had also stocked the tv cabinet with kids videos and had some of our sons favorite foods in the fridge for us-I cannot speak highly enough of what a wonderful host she was. Stay here.

We planned a last minute trip to the Colorado Springs area and stumbled upon this gem. The location was perfect and the house looked like it had some character. Boy, did it ever! The pictures don't begin to describe this home. Wine cellar in the basement to top it all off! It's in front of a park, so if you're looking to get in a little exercise on your trip you can go out back and jog next to the stream/river and park. Excellent restaurants and nightlife are walking distance. Pike's Peak is just a few miles away. Dawn (owner) was a pleasure to deal with. Stay here, you'll be pleased.

Guest: Dustin (Bloomington, Indiana)

From the first step into the house, we knew we made the best choice possible. With three floors, a large kitchen, a relaxing front porch, and super comfortable bedrooms, we all had a great experience staying here. From the beginning, the Rickerts made reserving the property simple and everything was exactly as promised. We took advantage of the house's downtown location to walk to restaurants and to the downtown park. And even though the house is close to everything, the neighborhood is quiet and comfortable. This house will be a the very top of our list of places to stay next time we're in Colorado Springs.

We used the bicycles for a glorious ride along Monument Creek.

I had a group of 15 people stay at this house for 3 days. We all thought it was nice to stay in a house that was so old and so clean. (old things have history) The amount of room in the house was beyond expectations. The location of the house was also perfect. We could walk to the bars and clubs within just a few minutes and we had easy access to I-25, Manitou Springs, Garden of th Gods, Pikes Peak, Air Force Academy, etc. We would definitley rent this place again.

What a great experience at "MMM" ! Everything was perfect for gathering our families for our daughter's big wedding day in C. Spgs. The house is super convenient to downtown. It is very well equipped for eating, sleeping and gathering to talk. The kids loved the games, DVD big screen and sidewalk chalk art. The quaintness of the house took us all back to a more relaxed, civilized era. Very clean, owners easy to work with. Very special experience! Hope we can do it again sometime.

We so enjoyed the unique, immaculately clean house that felt like home. Everything we needed for a home away from home was there. The house was in a great location. We could easily come and go to all of our destinations. We would gladly come back again and highly recommend staying at the lovely house. We visited the Pioneer Museum, Olympic Training Center, Manitou Springs, Air Force Academy, Wolf and Wildlife Preserve, and many other sites and ate at several downtown restaurants such as The Famous and Mackenzie's Chop House as well as brought home Old Chicago Pizza. All the food was great! Thanks Dawn and Tim for making the house available for rental. It was great being in a home instead of a motel room.

What a wonderful house! We meet our family in Colorado Springs over the New Year's to celebrate Christmas. The house was complete with a tree and decorated for the holidays. Everything we needed was available and we prepared all our meals at the house. A portible crib was even available for the youngest member of our group, and the bedroom on the main floor was perfect for our 80+ year old grandmother with it's own bath and no steps. There was plenty of room for everyone and we loved the antiques throughout the home. We all had a wonderful time as a family and appreciate being able to stay in such a unique home.

Dawn and Tim: There were 10 of us (and the two dogs) It was just perfect in every way! The noisy young people could stay up all night in the kitchen playing cards and the tired old people could go to bed and not be disturbed. The Christmas decorations added just the right touch! Nobody got lost coming in or bumping around the town. We had a great ceremony at the Academy, great visiting at the house, great site seeing for those that hadn't been out west in a while. My sister and brother in law from Atlanta flew in, stayed the last nite by themselves and walked the neighborhood - more rave reviews!! The house is a great gathering place, Lots of room for everyone, beautifully decorated, just terrific!! Our thanks and best wishes for the holidays. Your house was 'four stars', perfect. Thank you again for letting us rent it for the December Air Force Academy graduation week. Best - Carla

We had an absolutely wonderful time at your home. One of the highlights of the trip was sitting around the fireplace and having extended family playing guitar and singing songs they had written. A warm wonderful time. (That night alone made the manor all worth it.) The wedding was beautiful and we wouldn't have changed a thing. We appreciate the attention to detail and loving care put into the manor. It is beautifully decorated. We discovered the games in the chest in the kids bedroom and our kids played a long game of monopoly, laughing much too loud into the wee hours of the morning. A great time had by all. Thank you for providing such a lovely home away from home for us all.

My daughter's wedding was the first weekdnd in October. My rather large family couldn't all fit into our house in the Springs, so we thought we'd give them the second best place in town to stay. I think they got the better deal. The house is large and roomy and so interesting. All the little nooks and crannys (especially the wine cellar) were the talk of the wedding. They all said they would stay there again in a minute.

We rented the house from the 9th of July until the 25th of July for a combined family holiday. My husband and I decided on Colorado Springs because of the many activities for both adults and children. We had 6 adults and 2 children the first week and 8 adults and 3 children the second week. We all enjoyed the house, making it work for all of us. The location is ideal for the proximity to restaurants and parks. The kitchen is very well supplied. We had a lovely time while we were there. One excellent asset is the availability of the owners' daughters to babysit. Our grandchildren had a lovely time and did not miss us at all!!! Not to be missed---Michael Garman's Magic Town in Old Colorado City....

This was our 10th USAFA Parents' Weekend & we've finally found a home that works for our large family! The location is convenient to USAFA, shopping, & recreation. The home itself is set up very well to serve large groups easily. From the family-sized kitchen & plentiful beds, to the bbq, bikes, ice chests, etc that are available for use, it is obvious that the Rickert's put a lot of thought into providing all of the conveniences of home for their guests. We even had enough towels for everyone without having to do laundry! We had an awesome time together & look forward to coming back next year. "Wow", "beautiful", wonderful", "I miss it already". These are some of the comments from my family who stayed at your home for my brother's surprise 50th birthday party. He lives in Colorado Springs and had no idea we were all going to be there. The perfect setting for the surprise was your beautiful home. We come from a large family and finding a place that could accomodate all of us is a task. We were all able to be together, instead of being housed in some sterile, uncomfortable hotel without the kind of "warm" feeling that is so appreciated in this type of situation. Your home provided us the opportunity to take control of some of the food preparation necessary since one of the nephews has severe food allergies, and the bar-b-que setting was right up our alley. You home was close to some interesting places for both adults and children. All the comments received after our trip there have reflected the happiness it provided us being together, the convenience of the location, the comfort and coziness of the rooms, the abundant space, and the overall feeling of warmth your home had provided. We all agree, that if we have any future get togethers, in or around Colorado, we will absolutely be contacting you again for a possible stay in your beautiful home. Thank you for making lifetime memories for all of our families. We had an incredible time there...Barbara, Austin, Texas

We had a WONDERFUL time at the Mountain Majesty Manor. We had just 8 of us so we all had plenty of space. With the three levels, there was always a place someone could go to be on their own. The kids thought it was a great house for hide and seek. The kitchen was very well stocked, making it very easy to prepare meals. It looks like it would be a great place for Thanksgiving or Christmas. We were attending our 8 yr old son's Regional gymnastics meet at the Olympic Training Center (he is now the 2009 Region 9 Champion!). The house was very convenient; just a couple blocks to downtown (and Starbucks) and about 1 1/2 miles from the training center. We hope to be back next meet season if not sooner.

We loved the house and the proximity to downtown Colorado Springs. The house was wonderful and met all our needs (10 people) as we shared the time with best friends and family celebrating the marriage of oldest son of friends. Family were welcome and enjoyed visiting after the wedding. The home is warm and atmosphere rich. Owners were considerate and met our needs quickly and in a professional manner. My wife and I look forward to staying again during our next visit to Colorado Springs.

What a wonderful time in a great house! Our son had a December graudation from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. We flew into The Springs (great, small airport!)from various places "out East"-PA, MD, CT. Mostly "hung out" in the large, comfortable kitchen-cooking and talking, playing a few games and enjoying a beverage. Nice location. Poor Richards, and the bakery/cafe accross the street from it are recommended. A wonderful time in a house/home I would highly recommend! Thanks to the owners!

We simply could not have found a better place for our 30th CC reunion ... not only for the 8 of us who stayed there, but for literally dozens of friends who dropped by from time to time over the three days. We'll book it RIGHT NOW for our 35th in October 2013! Thanks a million.

This house is perfect for a gathering. I chaperoned ten 17-19 year old girls for a week and we found all the amenities for our needs which ranged from ironing suits, wireless internet, playing tunes on our Ipods, to baking cookies. The old charm of this historically house with all its different spaces was perfect.

I recently hosted a gathering of 9 college friends (from all over the U.S. and London)in Colorado Springs and we were lucky to have found Mountain Majesty Manner. The location was great-centrally located to all of the attractions as well as close to downtown. We walked a few minutes to restaurants. The house is large enough to spread out but also provides gathering places such as the kithchen and living room. Dawn and Tim were very nice and accomodating. I highly recommend a stay at this well-maintained, comfortable home.

My family stayed in this house with 2 other families and our stay in Colorado Springs couldn't have been better. The house is wonderfully located, in walking distance of restaurants and in driving distance of many, many attractions. The house is very spacious and very well equipped. I would definitely stay here again if/when we head back to Colorado Springs.

Our two families had plenty of room and much enjoyment in this house. It is quiet at night and central to everything to do around Colorado Springs. Highly recommended!

We had our entire family vacation in Colorado Springs at this home and it was fabulous. The house was big enough that we were not stepping over each other all day long. It was also conveniently close to all the sightseeing locations and the shopping. If we ever need a place to stay in Colorado Springs, we will certainly stay here again! It was absolutely phenomenal.

My 3 brothers and I with our wives had a week long reunion here. What a lovely old house in a world class location!! Our first night we walked one block to the Pike's Peak or Bust Rodeo Parade. And it is a one block walk to the park with tennis courts, bicycle trail, and resident red fox! There is a whole summer's worth of activities within a 10 mile radius of this house. Nice kitchen, formal dining and the decorations make the house feel like a home. Great value for the money!!

Ok...So all I really have to say is the house is WONDERFUL!!!...I doubt that any other house can really compare in the area. It is everything and more than we expected. So if you think the price is too much, just wait until you get to the house! You will find your money's worth and more by the time you leave.
