Come enjoy a lakefront home on Bald Mountain Lake in Lake Lure, North Carolina. Bald Mountain Lake is a 65 acre private lake just north of Lake Lure. If you enjoy peace and quiet but still want outdoor adventures such as swimming, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking, then Bald Mountain Lake is for you. A jon boat and a 4 person paddle boat are included in the rental to help you enjoy the area even more! The house is also within Rumbling Bald Resort. This resort has homes on Bald Mountain Lake, Lake Lure, and the surrounding mountainous areas.
Lake Lure was selected as one of the ten most beautiful man-made lakes in the world by National Geographic. Lake Lure and Bald Mountain Lake are nestled in the serene setting of the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. You will discover the magic and bounty of nature in this wondrous canyon known as Hickory Nut Gorge. Other surrounding areas include Ashville that has a great farmers market and the beautiful Biltmore Estate, and Chimney Rock that has a great park with hiking, waterfalls, and quaint shopping. Black Mountain, Bat Cave, and Rutherfordton are also close by so there is lots to do. Major motion pictures filmed here include Firestarter, A Breed Apart, Dirty Dancing, and Last of the Mohicans.
The iso-thermal belt provides enjoyable climate and four season splendor year round. For the "active life" there are scenic attractions, outdoor sports, water sports, fishing and hiking. For the "simple life" relax and lounge on one of the decks overlooking the lake, on the screened porch or maybe even on the balcony at tree tops level watching swimmers, fishers, curling up with a good book or maybe just enjoying the view. We ask all our visitors to feed the birds with the supplied bird food to keep our friends around as well.
The house is within Rumbling Bald Resort and includes all the amenities such as golf, tennis, fitness center, spa, indoor/outdoor pools, child's play area, private "beach area" on Lake Lure, several restaurants, as well as a sunset dinner cruise. You also have the option of renting boats to explore either lake as well.
The home is just steps away from the driveway so it is accessible to all. Come in and enjoy the great open floor plan with views of the lake and mountains through three full sliding glass doors with screens. A great way to bring the outdoors in during a beautiful day. The family room has an incredible stone fireplace with gas logs and a comfortable sitting area with a TV/DVD. This floor also has a dinning area, kitchen with great views, master bedroom with a queen bed and a second bedroom with a queen bed and bunk beds. Both of these bedrooms have their own bathroom. The large balcony off the family area is partially covered with a comfortable large hammock and outside dinning area.
The downstairs has a third bedroom with a queen bed and a fourth bedroom with 2 twins. There is a full bath, laundry room and another refrigerator. Kids will also love their own play area downstairs with a Flat screen TV with theater DVD system. There are lots of toys, games, movies, books to be enjoyed by all.
Spend the days swimming in the lake straight off the dock with a five step stair type ladder that makes getting in and out of the water easy for all. Or just run and jump off the dock for lots of fun. We have ski belts, rafts, and noodles available for your swimming fun and safety. Don't forget the jon boat and four person paddle boat for daily adventures that include wildlife viewing, fishing, or just a lazy cocktail stroll around the lake.
