Spent a wonderful week at Misty Mountain. Fall colors were wonderful; weather was perfect; cabin design, decorations and amenities were warm and classy. We found the cabin so amazingly clean, it didn't have a "rental" feel. We look forward to a return trip in another year or two.

Beautiful country up here. Enjoyed the hot tub & stars. They just put (a new) hot tub outside. we did some fly fishing and hiking. We love the remote location. The rocking chairs were fabulous, listening to the rain, candles burning in the lanterns. Very comfortable beds and furniture. Cozy cabin atmosphere even in the summer.

This has been a wonderful first time trip to the High Country for our family. Our favorite adventures were: Hebron Falls hike! Tubing the Watauga River Getting to the Blue Ridge Parkway via a very bumpy dirt road in Foscoe! Hiking down to Linville River "Plunge Basin" to see Linville Falls Experiencing Grandfather Mtn & crossing the swinging bridge! The cabin was so nice for our family. Rocking on the front porch and feeling like we were in a treenhouse. Pool table and xbox a great reprieve for the kids after a busy day out. Hot tub is a nice touch, the picnic table on the deck was fun for the kids!

We loved your beautiful home! It is so cozy and adorably decorated. It truly was a lovely place to spend vacation. We fell in love with this part of North Carolina and hope to be back! Thank you also for allowing our dog- it was fun to have him along!

This place is perfect for a quick getaway from the "busyness" of daily life. Only 2.5 hours from Charlotte. You can't help, but relax when you get here. Rocking in chairs on the backporch above the treetops was fabulous. We even got to enjoy the rain out there. It sounded like we were in a rainforest. The view is beautiful. It's really peaceful and secluded, yet close to everything. Perfectly located for daytrips like hiking in state parks, tubing on lazy rivers and biking down the creeper trail

Forget the beach house, this serene mountain escape was simply heavenly. Get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Bring the kids. Reconnect with friends. Get away for a week or a weekend in this cozy, roomy retreat we hope to revisit again and again.

We just came back from our third trip to this wonderful cabin. This time we brought friends to join us. Everyone had a GREAT time. The cabin works so well for families. My kids played pool and X-Box while the adults enjoyed the quiet back porch. Then we all enjoyed a relaxing soak in the jacuzzi. While up in this area, we went on the Virginia Creeper trail, conveniently located only 35 minutes from the cabin. I would highly recommend this adventure. We also went tubing and hiked the Blue Ridge Parkway. Thanks to Gene and Kim McCarthy for such a beautiful place to stay!!

We really enjoyed sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs watching the sun go down; listening to the birds and natures sounds; watching the planes leave their vapor trails in the evening sky on their way across the coutnry; and if you wait and watch closely, there is a point in their arc across the sky, only for a few seconds, when the setting sun behind the mountains will illuminate the plane in front of the vapor trail! It looks like a star streaking across the sky! an amazing sight! we enjoyed our stay

Thanks for sharing your cabin with us. The three of us enjoyed the peace and quiet each everning after full days of hiking and fishing. My son (8) enjoyed sleeping in the comfy upstairs bedroom, especially the rainy night we had! He loved the Candy Barrel store at the Mast General Store. He also caught us dinner one night at Grandfather Trout Farm. He just loved that. His parents loved the views and hiking. thanks again for a great Memorial Day weekend.

Just what the doctor ordered! Although only two hours away, we felt as though we were far away from schedule, phones, fast pace, etc! Loved the fires in the fireplace and the wrap around decks. It was very easy to move in and quickly feel like home!

We enjoyed our 3-night stay in Misty Moutnain. We had great weaher and we never had to adjust the air or heat...just took the mountain breeze as it was. We love the natural wood in the cabin reminding us of all the pine wood finishings in our home. Thanks for sharing.

Jackie and I had a wonderful 2 days up here. From a guy that does not relax much, sitting on the porch and just enjoying the stillness was real speacial and calming. Getting away like this was what the two of us needed and I really think your cabin just made our get away something we won't soon forget. Just love how it's furnished as well. Thanks again guys.
