Breathtaking Views!

Stunning views...peaceful...relaxing...comfortable. What a lovely cabin in a beautiful setting! This is a great place to unwind and relax. Plenty of room to spread out and the cabin was clean and ready for visitors. Deer and turkey wandered through the yard the second day of our visit... what a treat! Will definitely be back! :)

Modern enough to be luxurious and charming enough to feel like a true mountain cabin. It was spacious, very well appointed and spotless! The views were spectacular. We will be back!

Great Secluded Place with Family

Guest: Eric & Deidra (Kansas)
Date of Stay: 05/26/11 Review Submitted: 06/19/11

As usual, pictures can't do justice to the view off the front porch; it's truly gorgeous. My family had a great time in this spacious cabin as well as exploring and hiking in the surrounding acreage. It is very secluded and gives you a sense of being alone, but yet provides all the amenities you would expect in a place in town. We were able to buy groceries and everything else was conveniently provided in the cabin. Having a washer and dryer in the cabin also saved on having to pack so many clothes; leaving room for the fishing poles! We stayed for a week and enjoyed several of the local attractions. The Royal Gorge, hiking trails around Westcliffe, fishing at Lake Deweese were all within 30 minutes of the cabin. We also took some day trips to horseback ride at Mt. Princeton, Pikes Peak, and Cave of the Winds. There were also multiple opportunities for us to raft nearby, but our youngest was a little small to raft on this trip. Our family made some wonderful memories while staying at this getaway. Thank you John for sharing this wonderful blessing with us.

My cousins and I stayed here last June and had a wonderful time, Just like staying at a good friends house. The view is spectacular and the home is comfy. A little drive through the valleys and dirt roads is neat in itself. Thanks again to the owners for letting us use your home. We rafted the Royal Gorge

Excellent Stay

Stayed here with a few friends in order to raft the Royal Gorge and to just get away and relax. The location itself is secluded and beautiful. The views were breathtaking and at night you could see a thousand stars. Looking forward for another getaway perhaps next year.

Awesome Mountain Retreat

Guest: Lisa (Arvada, CO)
Date of Stay: 07/26/10 Review Submitted: 08/05/10

Our brief stay at this lovely mountain cabin was a highlight of our summer vacation. It’s wonderfully secluded and private, yet easily accessible. It’s a perfect setting for rest or romance and offers everything you could hope for in a mountain getaway. The view of the Sangre de Chirsto Mountains from the front porch is breathtaking. You can sit on the rockers or cozy swing and watch the birds as they feast from the various feeders. You can walk or hike around the acreage and explore a fabulous mountain environment. The interior of the home is immaculate. The kitchen and dining room are open and inviting. There are plenty of condiments in the fridge and cupboards, so you only need to bring your basic food items. There is plenty of room and all the comforts of home for a classy, clean and relaxing respite. We are hoping to be able to visit again. Our stay more than met our expectations.

Summer Vacation

Guest: Harker Heights (Harker Heights, TX)
Date of Stay: 06/10/09 Review Submitted: 03/31/10

We (7) family members stayed two nights last year as we traveled from Durango to Royal Gorge and then to Colorado Springs on vacation. The cabin is secluded and only 20 minutes from Royal Gorge. The kids (4) were able to explore the surrounding rock outcroping and had a blast...much better than stuck in a hotel. We used the grill for a cook out and being able to get caught up on laundry (washer & dryer) was nice. The mountain view is just like the picture on the web site. This home was my favorite part of the trip.
