Our family of four, plus one elderly grandmother, had a four night stay at the Cozy Bear Cabin. The accommodations were clean and quite comfortable with only two exceptions. The toilet was extremely close to the vanity (mere inches) but this was a minor inconvenience I was willing to overlook. The mattress in the master bedroom was incredibly firm for me, but I'm a princess and they can't possibly please everyone. My husband loved the bed and slept soundly. BTW, the shower head is to die for and there is plenty of hot water. If you love an invigorating shower, definitely try it out. It is fabulous! This cabin will keep any nervous parents of a toddler on their toes by trying to keep the child from climbing the ladders to the two lofts. Our elderly grandmother was not keen on the front stairs after a long day sitting in the car while traveling through the park, but if you have a vim and vigor elderly person this cabin should not be a problem. We will definitely keep this cabin as one of our choices for a future visit and will recommend it to any of our family and friends. Even though it is stated it in the description of the cabin, we were still taken by surprise that YNP is right across the street from the cabin! West Yellowstone is small tourist town with most everything within walking distance of the cabin. If you are tired of sitting in the car from traveling the park then West Yellowstone has copious offerings of activities to explore by foot. You can spend a day or more discovering all that the town has to offer. Management for the cabin was very attentive to our needs. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The Good: Clean, close to everything, comfortable living and dining areas. TV and cable work fine. Lots of sleeping areas. The OK: One old stained (but clean) towel for each person. Luckily there was a washer/dryer to keep them laundered. Wifi spotty. Dim lighting - bring a book lite if you like to read. The Bad: Redone bathroom had the toilet facing the vanity and so close (less than one foot) that it was hard to use properly. In addition, the heating vent for the room was where one would place a foot if using the facility. Very uncomfortable and unusable if you have a disability.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Rosanne thank you for the feedback. I wish you had called us during your stay so we could of assisted with these things and mad eyour stay more enjoyable. Towels - we generally leave 1 towel set {face, hand, bath} per guest but as our signage says - if you need extras - let us know. Some previous guests used bleach on the towels we just bought in the spring but we have replaced these, now. Wi-fi - seems to be working fine. Sometimes the router needs resetting and we are happy to do this. Not sure where the dim lighting is. Each bedroom has a ceiling fixture and table lamp. Plus, if you open the blinds it is very bright in there. This is the first complaint we have received since re-doing the bathroom. Everyone has said how nice the new vanity and tub surround all are. We do not advertise this cabin as wheelchair accesible. It would be kind of expensive and hard to move walls in a log cabin.

Enjoyed the cabin a lot.....the rental person Cynthia was excellent inquiring about our well-being and needs. It was very clean. A call to her produced a new can opener in a matter of hours. The only amenity I hope they add is a clock radio. We were able to grill outside and make dinners in the crockpot. The loft bedrooms are great for kids due to climbing the ladders, and the configuration of the bedrooms filled our needs. We would certainly recommend friends and family. We ate in most nights but must admit that the "Wild, Wild West" pizza place has great pizza. Of course, being right on the boundary of the park is great and that is the main attraction.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

This cabin is very roomy and clean, well-maintained and very convenient for visitors to Yellowstone. It was great for a family....everyone had their space. The only negative thing was that the bed in the master bedroom was not very comfortable. I have let the hosts know about this, and I am hoping that they will be able to replace it. We had problems with the cable, too, but I was very impressed by how attentive the hosts were to this problem, and they made every effort to resolve it. One thing I liked about staying in a cabin in West Yellowstone versus in the park itself is that it was nice to have lots to do in the town of West Yellowstone in addition to traveling through Yellowstone.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.
Owner response: The mattress on the bed in the master bedroom has been replaced. We have not had any complaints since it was changed.
