Located directly on the beach in Playa Hermosa, only 20 minutes from the Liberia Airport. This villa is part of a one of a kind luxury beach complex, Sol y Mar. Rentals on the beach in Costa Rica are difficult to find and at best rarely modern and new. Here you have the best of all worlds. Newly constructed and completed in 2007, this luxury villa is 2400 sq ft with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. Only the finest materials were used in the construction. .
There are only 12 total units in the complex thereby assuring the discriminating renter the exclusive resort atmosphere unavailable in other complexes. At your door step you will find one of Costa Rica's finest 'Blue Flag' beaches. One mile long, Playa Hermosa is rarely crowded. With every conceivable water activity at you beckon call PLEASE don't forget that Hermosa is the closest beach community to 3 National Parks and the Arenal Volcano. Sol y Mar is one of a kind rental property providing you and your companions a vacation to remember!
Walk to the beach is only 90 feet. Soundproof construction assures the renter of undisturbed privacy while inside the villa. There is a large terrace to enjoy the views, have a meal while cooking on the built-in stainless steel grill.
The complex pool is two tiered. Waters cascading from one level to the other. There is a whirlpool for relaxing. Both the whirlpool and pool offer unobstructed views of the Bay and the greatest sunsets that you will ever see.
A dozen restaurants, several within a few minutes walk, can be found in Hermosa.
Beachfront Golf: As with all Beachfront Properties Rentals, Renters of Sol y Mar will have golf privileges at Papagayo Golf and Country Club at reduced rates. Daily space is limited to 4 rounds of golf and subject to availability. See your Beachfront representative for further information.

My wife and I, along with our two young adult children, vacationed at a Sol y Mar rental condo at Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica in July 2010. The accommodations were peaceful, relaxing, comfortable and excellent in every detail. The staff of Beachfront Properties were very courteous, prompt and attentive to every detail. Nothing was overlooked. The location was excellent for shopping, sightseeing and touring. The beautiful views of the ocean and beach from our porch every morning, as well as the Pacific sunsets, were spectacular. Mealtimes on our porch as a family with the sounds of the surf and the many tropical birds in the background were especially peaceful and pleasant. We all eagerly look forward to a return rental at Sol y Mar at some future date. We would not change anything about the accommodations or the service.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We just spent a great week at Sol Y Mar on Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica with our two married children and one 3-year old grandson. The condo was just a nice as pictured on the website. The furnishings were quality and yet durable choices so we didn't have to worry about damaging anything. It was very clean when we arrived. The deck area is spacious and we enjoyed having breakfast outside as well as the ocean view from the chaise lounges. A great grill is built-in here also. Our concierge quickly replaced the gas when we realized it was empty. The pool is on the smaller side and 4 foot depth only. But it was perfect for us and our grandson. The beach is very nice and right at the front of the property. Neither were ever crowded with people which we liked. Bring beach umbrellas if you have them as they are not provided. Both prior to our arrival and during our stay, Beachfront Rentals and Management quickly responded to our questions or needs. Restaurant prices are less than in the US but any American made groceries are about twice as high. Next time I might pack cereals, crackers, snacks etc. in a duffel bag to bring with us. We definitely will consider returning to Sol y Mar. It provided us with a wonderful stay where we could combine fun in the sun at the pool/beach and guided tours exploring Costa Rica.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We just returned from a family trip to Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Sol y Mar is new and by far the most beautiful place to stay in Playa Hermosa! Security is provided so we all felt safe, and the condos are decorated so beautifully. The walkway to the beach is absolutely beautiful and the view of the beach is unobstructed...you can see the beach from the condo! We will definitely stay at Sol y Mar again!
