The property is beautifull. We enjoyed the pool, outside kitchen and pavillion. There was a big storm and we relaxed under the pavillion and grilled lunch, it was amazing. Our daughter is 7 and she learned to drive the golf cart, she had a blast. We also enjoyed Sam and Molly, my daughter wanted to take them home. The property is only approx. 20 minutes from Jekyll Island and the ocean. We also went to Savannah. We hope to return... Thank You for a Wonderfull Stay!!!

My family enjoyed 7 nights at this charming cottage during Spring Break and loved every second of it. The kids never grew tired of riding the golf cart, fishing, swimming, jumping on the trampoline, the zipline, and really bonded with the two sweet doggies. They immediatley took to Bob, which is strange because usually takes a while. It is the owner's genuine kindness that they picked up on. The cottage is beautifully decorated and has everything you could possibly need. I loved the kitchen, we cooked every meal just about. My son has never caught so many fish before, it almost seemed magic. I could just go on and on....

Such an amazing place to take a break from life! Bob and Eleanor are the most accommodating hosts you could possibly ask for. They make sure you have everything you need throughout the stay. Such a nice secluded private place. So peaceful and so many trails to explore. If you like dogs, Sam and Molly will give you all the love you want/need. They led us around the trails showing us the right path. :) it was great. Will definitely go back! If you have the time, do not hesitate, it is so worth it!!

My husband, daughter (age 13) and I spent 3 beautiful nights here in mid-August. We were winding down from driving through Virginia and NC and wanted to delay our arrival home to Florida. Our only regret is that our time was so short because there was so much to see and enjoy in the Rawls' paradise. The cottage is spotless and beautifully appointed - you feel like you are the first guest to stay there. The kitchen was huge and had everything we needed. My daughter was thrilled to drive a golf cart for the first time, and Molly was happy to ride along with her. The lake and river offer perfect beauty and solitude. We drove over to downtown historic Brunswick (recommended), but did not have time to visit the beaches or other sights as we enjoyed the property so much. My daughter loved the huge swimming pool, so each afternoon we relaxed by the pool while she played and then we cooked dinner at the cottage. We never even thought of turning on the TV. The hosts, Bob and Eleanor, are the most gracious and kind people. They give you complete privacy, but we wished we had more time to spend there so we could enjoy getting to know them better. As others have said, Molly and Sammy, the sweet labs, are adorable. If you are an animal lover, you will be so happy for their companionship, but if not, they are not intrusive at all - perfect hosts! The weather was great, low humidity and cool evenings and mornings. This was just a perfect retreat and we will hopefully be back someday. Very highly recommended! Thank you again!

Great family friendly place. Very relaxing. The hosts are wonderful. Our family had a blast with swimming pool, fishing, canoeing, skeet shooting. Kids had fun w\golf cart that was provided. Grocery\dollar store 5-10 min away. Beach 25 min away. Would highly recommend this place for families\couples that like something relaxing and enjoy nature. Cabin fully equipped with all your needs. Only negatives for us--sulfur water and spiral staircase to the 2nd floor. Other than that --perfect! We will definitely return!

We just returned from our stay with Bob and Elanor, what a great time we had with them, the dogs, and enjoying there little bit of heaven. Everthing was as expected and anything you could need was there and waiting for our arrival. The property is to die for and the golf cart lets you see it up close and personal. Molly and Sammy were our guides and protectors for our whole visit. If you long for the quiet and closeness that only nature can provide, you owe it to yourself and family to visit this property. We feel like we just added to our list of close friends because of this vacation. The pool and kitchen area is beyond description. Resort setting and we had it to ourselves.

Thank you Bob and Eleanor we had a wonderful spring break vacation! We relaxed, did some swimming, fishing, drove around the property in the golf cart and visited St. Simons and Jekyll Island. Daniel misses the doggies and asks when we will return, I told him very soon. We definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking to get away from everyday life and reconnect with family and nature. Your place is a gem and so are you both!

WOW.... that says it all!!! We only had 2 days there but we wished we could have stayed forever. We went during my 11 year old son's Spring Break. He loved everything about this property. Molly and Sammy (dogs) must be the best dogs EVER. They followed us everywhere. My son loved taking them for rides on the golf cart. The lake is full of fish. My parents went along with us and loved spending time fishing. Bob and Eleanor were the best host. Bob made sure we had fire wood for our nightly outdoor fire, fishing rods/lures, tour around the property, etc.... If you are planning at trip to Waycross you must stay here. I miss it already and I just left today. Thanks Bob & Eleanor for your hospitality!!!!!!

It was truely a blessing that we found this property to stay at. We were looking for a getaway for our family with two teenagers. We wanted a place where we could spend quality time together with no internet and video games...just good family fun and this is the place! I wondered what the kids would think especially my teenager daughter, but both my son and daughter were begging us to stay longer and I wish we could have. The owners Bob and Eleanor were just like family the moment we meet them, they make you feel so welcome, are so accomodating and will just do anything for you. We had the best time fishing, I think we fished all the lakes but one and got to eat what we caught. Bob even taught me a new way to clean fish. The big lake was beautiful especially at sunset while sitting in the jon boat in the middle of the lake. We loved hiking the many trails and making new ones.....Bob showed us a new trail to the small lake and taught us about the plants and wild life in the area. They have two of the sweetest dogs that would follow us on the trails ...it was like having your own personal escort. We loved the beach area they have on the river. We all had a blast skeet shooting and target shooting and just riding around the property on the golf cart taking in the beauty of nature. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who just wants to get away and needs some peace and quite or families that would enjoy some bonding time with many outdoor activities. They have a beautiful pool with full kitchen too! The cabin is so nice and has a huge kitchen so we cooked a lot while we were there, my parents who are retired came for two days and loved it also, wished they could have stayed longer. Thank you Bob and Eleanor for such a wonderful experience and sharing your beautiful cabin and property for others to enjoy!!!

If you want to explore the Satilla River and have options with your kayak, this is the place. Easy, easy & Beautiful access with beach front river side and all the quaint lakes on the property. Early morning walks through the trails with Sammy & Molly as the best canine "guides" you can have; although Bob & Eleanor did much more than just show us around - Hospitality above & Beyond. Cabin had everything we needed and we didn't have enough time to get to all the amendities. Day trips to Cumberland Island to see wild horses & swamp were special, but we would have been just as happy staying "home". Grilling, bon-fire, star gazing & great conversation added to the peace & tranquility at night. There will be many return trips in our future -- Next time I'll fish, Hidden Lake. Bob had our bait just waiting for us...I just ran out of time. Can't thank those owners enough for making my family's winter break.

A million thank-yous to Bob and Eleanor Rawls for our perfect Thanksgiving retreat to the woods! We have talked for several years about finding a place like this to spend Thanksgiving with God and nature. We found it at the Rawls property. The exceptional and endearing hosts are the secret ingredient to this recipe for family bonding and renewal. The cabin is the centerpiece of this wonderful landscape. The sunlit kitchen is huge making Thanksgiving preparations a breeze. Hiking the trails, trolling on the lake fishing, golf cart around the property, and other outdoor activities our family loves were all made possible by the Rawls. Our college-age son and daughter in high school were smiling for 3 days and both stated this was their best Thanksgiving EVER (and that's without their wifi)! We will be returning as soon as possible.

My husband and I came to The Property to celebrate our 10yr wedding anniversary. As beautiful as the pictures are, they do not do this property justice. The cabin is gorgeous and the ammenities are superb! It is so peaceful and serene. We loved the boating, fishing, trails and swimming in the fabulous pool. Cooking and eating in the outdoor kicthen by the pool was so much fun. This is not only a great place for couples, but for a family too. We are definitely coming back. Bob and Eleanor really took care of all our needs. They are the most wonderful, sweetest people. Not only do we have a great vacation spot to come back to, we now have a great set of friends that we will cherish forever. Thank you Bob and Eleanor!!

My wife and I were looking for a nice quiet family vacation where we could spend a lot of time with our two young daughters (9&5). We loved the freedom to walk or drive the cart around the property. The girls loved to ride in the boat with the trolling motor and caught their first fish with a lure. They were amazed at how big the big mouth bass' mouths were! Each day we cooled in the pool and enjoyed the pool area where we grilled. The whole family loved dinner out at Blueberry Hill restaurant. Bob and Eleanor were wonderful hosts!

We absolutely loved our stay at The Property. Our only complaint is that we were only there for 2 nights and that wasn't nearly long enough. There was so much more that we wanted to see and do while we were there, but with the fish biting (and subsequently lots of fish to clean) there just wasn't time. We definitely want to go back and explore more of the trails, the other lakes, the river/sand bar beach, etc. The pool is gorgeous and has an open-air pavillion next to it that has a full kitchen as well as a large gas grill, several tables and chairs, and 4 nice lounge chairs by the pool with a big umbrella. The main lake is pristine and there was a jon boat with an electric motor and battery as well as a canoe and paddles. They have all the fishing tackle you need as well as life vests, cushions to sit on in the jon boat, backup battery, fish cleaning station with knives, scalers, skinners, outdoor shower, etc. We just couldn't believe all the "extras" that come along with this rental. Having the golf cart to ride around on was also very nice and the cabin itself is very charming, clean, and very well equipped with anything and everything you could need. We just could not have been happier that we stumbled across this listing and decided to go for a visit. We are already looking at the calendar to plan our return trip. Thank you to Bob and Eleanor for being such great hosts, for sharing your private pardise with us, and we look forward to seeing you again sometime real, real soon.

What an awesome Spring Break! We decided we needed to take a road trip this Spring Break with our three teenage girls, so I got on the internet and started to look around. I happened onto The Rawls site and knew it was perfect for us. At least it was perfect for what my husband and I wanted to accomplish during break;) You see we have 18, 16 and 13 year old daughters. Each do their "own" thing and don't spend much time with each other, or mom and dad. Our oldest is graduating this year and we didn't want to waste the 'last chance vacation' on a commercialized public place. 'The Property' was the perfect site. The girls spent every chance at the beautiful private pool. We cooked out at the pool kitchen and sat in the sun. Each of us read at least one book, we didn't even notice that the world was still running around us. My husband and I fished almost every morning and evening. Each morning the two adorable Property dogs, Sambo and Molly, would come to the cabin door to get the girls to take them for a ride in the golf cart. Boy, do we have cute video of that! We were close to Savannah and St. Simmons island so we took day trips. Savannah with the girls and then St. Simmons alone with my husband. It was very relaxing! Bob and Eleanor are the most wonderful hosts. If you want an evening fire, Bob will start it. If you need a new battery for the boat, its already there because Bob anticipated it. Eleanor knew all the shopping spots for the girls and was a wonderful hostess. Initially, our girls didn't think going to the country would be a good spring break but by the end they didn't want to leave. I think we could of left our youngest and she would of fit right in. We left recharged and much more connected. Thank you Bob and Eleanor, we'll be back!

Our family was very comfortable. Our son fished daily and when he caught fish, Bob, one of the owners was so helpful. He brought us tools to clean the fish and a scale, so the fish stories would be a bit accurate. The cabin was comfortable, well appointed and the pool slide made a great hit. All in all we had a terrific time and would certainly return if we come back to Georgia. Eleanor and Bob are fabulous hosts.

We just got home less than 6 hours ago and are still wearing the smiles and feeling the calm we experienced at The Property. Our weekend getaway with our 8 year old daughter was just what the doctor ordered. An absolute tranquil setting and just the right amount of things to do! We loved boating on the lake - the pristine beauty was amazing! Taking the golf cart down the Travis Trail was a blast. We tried our hand at fishing (unsuccessful but loads of fun!). We enjoyed watching our daughter's excitement of feeding the fish and playing with the dogs. Of course, we could not leave a comment without mentioning how much fun our daughter had at the pool (especially the water slide). Bob and Eleanor made us feel so welcome! We are already looking at our calendar to plan our next visit. Thank you, Bob and Eleanor, for making such a sweet time possible.

We just returned a few days ago from The Property and we're already planning our next visit. A beautiful place, with so many things to do. Fun for the whole family. My husband enjoyed the fishing, my four year old was in heaven in the playroom, my 11 year old never wanted to leave the pool, and my 15 year old had a blast driving the golf cart. For me, the best part was Eleanor and Bob. They quickly became very dear to me. Highly recommend!!
