"As Good As It Gets" - A perfect "10" cottage only 4 years old with front covered porch, rear screened porch, and a lushly landscaped yard with a picket fence.
A VERY short walk to Frangista beach (4 minutes and your toes are in the famous Emerald Waters) with the neighborhood pool directly behind home. You can sit on screened porch and watch the kids swim at the uncrowded luxurious large pool. This charming cottage has 11 ft ceilings and all hardwood floors. The owner is an interior designer and has left nothing unattended - you will be pleasantly surprised by the tasteful vintage decor. Colors are soft and relaxing and no detail has been overlooked including high quality bedding. You will be charmed by the iron beds, cotton quilts and vintage linen fabrics. There is a large LCD TV with surround sound in the gathering room and 2 flat screens in bedrooms as well as DVD on each. There is a queen bed in each of the bedrooms. There is also a queen sleeper sofa. Dream of sleeping under the stars? Then the canopy daybed on the screened porch is for you!
You will feel as if you are staying at a Five Star Luxury Bed and Breakfast. The master suite, named La Jardin Suite (the garden suite) has soft pistachio green walls, hydrangea wreath, garden statuary, wrought iron accents, yellow toile cotton quilts and beautiful accessories. It is refreshing and relaxing and perfect in every detail. The smaller suite, named La Petite Suite, is decorated with a Country French cotton quilt and bedding, black iron bed and black distressed furnishings. Beautiful original oils and limited edition prints complete the pleasing ambience of this room.
The kitchen is fully equipped so if you prefer to donning your apron instead of waiting in line at a restaurant, everything you need is there including stainless appliances, a new Bosch side by side fridge with ice and water in the door and and new stainless ceramic top range.
The gathering room is something out of a magazine with it's slip covered furniture, original oils and vintage touches. The large oval table in a distressed red finish will seat six.
The walk to the beach is about 200 yards (very very short). Your toes will touch the beautiful white sands of the Gulf in minutes. And we have included an all terrain stroller that handles chairs and ice chest for ease of travel. You cross Scenic 98 which is not busy. It also has speed bumps all along the road and at the private beach access, there is a crossing button you push to start the crossing flashers. Although we have wireless internet access, you can also walk to the corner to "Bad Ass Coffee" for internet access and a great cup of java. If you are not familiar with Scenic 98 location, it departs from hwy 98 at the Destin Commons Mall and comes back into 98 at Silver Sands Outlet Mall (shopping mecas). This is the road where Pompano Joes and Destiny By The Sea is located. The beaches are uncrowded due the abscense of high rise condos in the area.

Why the Owner Chose Frangista Beach
For years I have driven by the charming cottages of Frangista Beach and dreamed of owning one. The pastel colored cottages and picket fences so close to the beach won my heart. Many I had looked at over the years were larger than what I cared to manage. We had just sold our beach front condo when this cottage at Frangista came on the market. I didn't have to think twice. We hopped in the car, drove to Destin and wrote a contract the first day. I love that it is out of the really busy traffic hustle of Destin, yet positioned between the Destin Commons Mall and Silver Sands outlet mall (sorry, I love to shop). Also, there are many great restaurants, grocery stores and fun things for our family to do and just steps from those sugar white beaches.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
I love staying somewhere clean and well maintained - where items are replaced when need be to retain that new look. The colors in the cottage are so relaxing. Everyone comments on how restful it is. I love sitting on the screened back porch and hearing the water fall in the large pool located directly behind the cottage. It is so relaxing. When we are ready to head to the beach, it is just a few minutes walk. I enjoy having a private beach that is not wall to wall people. It is not crowded at all.

Hi and thanks for inquiring about our cottage, "As Good As It Gets". This is the 3rd rental property we have owned in the Destin area and we're thrilled to leave the condo market to obtain a charming cottage so close to the beach. If you wonder why we have such great comments from our guests, it is because I am an interior designer and my husband used to build. We take great pride in excellence and knowing we have made our home a fabulous destination for our guests. We have always had a high rate of returning guests because of our passion for creating beautiful properties. Also, we LOVE being able to vacation in such a great place ourselves so there is a bit of selfishness involved! I own a small custom cabinet business in Franklin, TN just outside of Nashville. We have one 11 year old daughter who loves the beach and horses. Someday we hope to retire to our cottage as it feels we are pulling into "home" when we cross the Bay Bridge (well, at best, maybe WE can be the snow birds occupying the cottage during the winter.
