This “LA Cabin" sleeps 8-10 and is located on all-sports 570-acre Lake Ann at mouth of the Platte River with plenty of shade to enjoy the breeze and a fabulous porch to enjoy beautiful summer evenings. This is a unique "up-north" getaway with a 168’ of shoreline and a private boat dock. Bring your own "toys" or have a pontoon boat, fishing boats, trampolines and jet skis delivered to the lake for you by private companies in the area. The owner has provided (4) kayaks, a canoe, and a 16’ fishing boat for your use as well.
The cottage sleeps eight to ten comfortably, with two bedrooms and three king size beds on the 2nd floor, and a double bed with a futon available on the main level. On the main level, there is also a full living room with a large leather couch and two chairs. The kitchen is also overlooking the lake, a bedroom with a full bathroom and laundry room with a half bath is at the opposite end. Dine in or on the large deck where you can have a picnic with the kids or spend some quiet time reading. This deck always has a lake breeze to make this a favorite gathering place. This home is equipped with new appliances and has been decorated with North Cottage-style furnishings.
The lower lake level has a very large space equipped with a ping pong table. This is the perfect room for enjoying TV, playing board games, or preparing for tomorrow's fishing trip.
Head down to the water, take your boat out and enjoy a fun-filled day fishing in this beautiful lake, or just capture the sounds of the summer as you take a quiet canoe or kayak ride at sunset around the lake. The large grassy lawn (80' x120') is great for playing badminton, tag, Frisbee toss or just sunning. At the end of the day sit around the fire pit and plan your next day of fun.
Scenic Lake Ann is just 12 miles from downtown Traverse City, and about a 20 minute drive to Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. It is also ideally located just 10 minutes from Interlochen Center for the Arts where you can enjoy many summertime concerts by well-known musicians. There are over 27 golf courses in this area, and there are over 18 wineries in the local area to enjoy. Stay once and you will make visiting Lake Ann an annual memorable event for all the family. Bring your friends for early spring fishing, discount golf at all the courses, and of course, enjoy the spectacular beauty of the area in the Fall. During the winter, there are numerous snowmobile trails close by, with cross country skiing and hiking only about a mile away and Crystal Mountain's downhill slopes are 20 minutes from the cabin.
Walk, ride bikes, cross country ski or snowmobile throughout the Lake Ann area and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Stop in at the Village of Lake Ann and eat at the L.A Café or order a Country Side Pizza. John and Sandy's General Store will have anything else you could possibly need.

It is so peaceful, yet close to many ammenities. There is also wildlife, a beautiful lake, and a lovely home. I can't wait to retire up there someday.

My husband and I have been visting the area since we honeymooned on Duck Lake 18 years ago. We have rented homes and cottages in the surrounding area many times. We have discoverd that we like staying in Lake Ann the best. It is in the middle of everything, so day trips into Traverse City, Lake Michigan, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Crystal Mountain Coaster or any of the other numerous activities are easy and fast to get to. And this by far, is our favorite rental home. It is very spacious and it did not feel like we were tripping over each other, like some of the places we've stayed in. This house is very neat and tidy, has very comfy furniture and we enjoyed making meals (in doors and out) and eating on the deck. Even though we had never been kayaking before, we really enjoyed the kayaks and went out in them any chance we could. There was even a child size one that my 11 year old could use. The peace and quiet of this place is just what we needed after a hard day at play. The sound of the birds kept us entertained as we were trying to identify some of the calls we have not ever heard before, like the loon. We even had an owl perched in a tree over the deck where we sat. We hope that one day we will be able to return to this beautiful, peaceful place to make more memories with our kids.

My husband and I have stayed here four or five time now...and we love it!! We initially rented in the summer for our bike trip and then came back in January to snow shoe and cross-country ski. There are trails within a short walk (5 minutes) that go for miles. The owners are very easy to work with and have made our stays very enjoyable. The recent addition of wifi has made life easier for me as a business owner since I can do a quick check-in on how things are going at the office without having to leave to go into town to a coffee shop. Our dogs love it too. We usually cover everything in sheets when we get there so they don't scratch anything up (the couches in the house are leather)...but they LOVE visiting the cabin (especially when they get to see the deer that are just outside the window!!).
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, sightseeing, families with young children.
