The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

Whether you are a family and need to spread out or a couple who desires a quiet, romantic getaway, our comfortable and pet-friendly cabin is the perfect destination. We are located between Josephine and Jackson counties, and central to so many activities throughout the Rogue Valley. A short, beautiful drive off the I-5 will provide the much-needed relief from the fast pace of the city. Being removed from the city lights makes star-gazing second to none and at 2000 feet above sea level, we tend to get snow in the winter. Come and create your own memories in our cabin in the woods.

Owner's Map of Rogue River

We absolutely love Southern Oregon and all it has to offer throughout the year. We are located on 10 beautiful acres with 2 houses. With so many friends and family who have stayed with us on their way through the area, especially since we are only 15 minutes off the I-5 interstate, we decided to share this jewel with others who are visiting the Rogue Valley. Staying here means you will get the chance to meet Larry King...Live! He's not the guy on CNN, but a fantastic mechanic who LOVES to ride quads throughout our mountains. Kat has worked in the healthcare documentation industry for over 35 years. We're animal lovers with 2 dogs, 2 cats and a horse.

We stayed at Rogue River for a week 4/28/2012 through 5/6/2012. We were there for a visit with my wifes aunt and uncle who reside in Medford, but wanted a place to stay close enough to visit them and see some of the sights around the area. We managed day trips to Crater Lake, the Redwoods and the Northern California coastline, as well as of couple of animal parks north of town. We all enjoyed playing catch with the two dogs and feeding Cricket the horse. For the price of the cabin you can't find anything in the area that comes close. . We have to say, we enjoyed the cabin and the views around it so much so, that we would certainly consider a stay there again if we should return to this beautiful area.

Very nice place. Quiet with very comfortable beds. 6 adults fit very nicely, not at all crowded. Great kitchen for putting together a nice feast. We would stay here again. Not very close to anything, but very scenic. About 2 hours from Crater Lake. The owners are on the property, so are available for any questions. They have 2 very friendly well behaved dogs.

What a wonderful find!

We have rented several vacation cottages in the Oregon area and this is by far the best experience we have had to date. From the moment we met Kat and Larry and saw 'the cabin in the woods' we knew that we were going to have a great stay. The cottage and absolutely everything that you could wish for to make your stay unforgettable. The ambience of its situation, together with family pets of 2 dogs and a horse, plus visiting deer and rabbits and the friendliness of our host and hostess will keep us coming back for many more visits. Now from a guys view. 1. Put away your GPS and Map Quest. The directions to the cabin was right on. Not once did my wife tell me to stop and ask directions. 2. I drive a mid size class A motorhome, and I need at least one of everything in it I have at home. I don't know if the cabin had one of everything, but it had every thing I needed. More TV stations than you can watch, games galore for you and the kids, plus videos, if nothing on TV. Want to take a walk in the woods, you are already there. This will always be our number one stop when in southern Oregon. Maggie & Glen Hakes

A Wonderful Place to Stay

Guest: Reed & Suzy (United States)
Date of Stay: 08/09/10 Review Submitted: 08/13/10

Our extended family (3 couples + 1) just returned from a delightful stay at the "Cabin in the Woods". It is a very comfortable and peaceful place to stay. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipted for our needs. We enjoyed the outside seating area for morning coffee and bird watching. We saw a herd of elk in a meadow on the way up the hill and every trip out from the cabin (by car or by foot) always included a least one deer spotting! This is certainly a spot we would love to return to in a future visit to the Rogue River valley area.

We are very happy with our stay at the "cabin in the woods"!! The cabin is all it's advertised to be...in a beautiful wooded setting, very clean and nicely decorated to make you feel at home. And we had fun walks on the property with the owners two (very friendly!!) dogs keeping us company. I would recommend this cabin to everyone wanting a peaceful night's sleep!

Loved it....

We took our family up to the Cabin in the Woods and we love, love, LOVED IT!! Everything you needed was right there...it was a home away from home. My boys (12 and 1 1/2 years old) LOVE the property....Crikett the house, so loving and fun, even my baby was feeding him and giving him kisses! As for the doys; they love to play ball and "watch" over everything. Kat & Larry- THANK YOU for sharing your home!! We can't wait to come back!! Thanks Jamie & Mark and boys

Nice, quiet cabin

Guest: Jolleen (Humboldt County, CA)

Plenty of space for 2 adults, a teenager and a toddler. Cabin had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the blue couch & chair were comfortable. The horse and the dogs were the biggest hit with the kids. They loved feeding carrots to the horse and throwing the ball for Rusty the dog. Also lots of space outside for the little one to run around - very helpful after a long car ride. Very quiet and relaxing spot and nice, friendly hosts!

This was our second time visiting the cabin and it won't be the last. If I only had a 7 letter limit my comment would be "AWESOME", but since I get 3000...here goes! The cabin has everything you need or want. Fully furnished, I felt like I was at home. The property, well...spectacular. The now doe, same fawn as our first visit had returned to snack on some corn. Rusty has a new playmate and the cats think they're dogs! Cricket had an apple or two. I can't decide if the 10 mile quad ride to the towers or the 25 mile ride to Uranus was better! The endless views of mountains will mesmorize you, the smell of the pines will enhance you and you'll want to make this your forever vacation spot. Kat & Larry are the "hostests with the mostest" and without them the cabin in the woods, would just be a cabin. Thanx again...see ya next trip, maybe our 2 year anniversary party!! -Linda & Karen Fox-Acosta, San Diego, CA
