Papa’s Woods is high atop a dune with views of tall trees all around, and just down the road a bit is a private Lake Michigan beach. The cottage is new, but boasts the look and charm of an old woodsy cottage.
Papa’s Woods has perfect accommodations for at least two families, each with their own suite. The main living area contains a fabulous modern kitchen with eating island, dining area and laundry. A cozy gas fireplace warms up the living room, and the “tree house” sunporch is the best place for reading, eating, or playing cards. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a full bath. The master bedroom contains a king-size bed, and the second bedroom has four built-in twins, perfect for the little ones! The lower level also has a master with a king-size bed, and a second bedroom with a daybed (2 twins). The lower level also has a fun rumpus room and a huge covered deck with glorious views of the woods. The deck provides for outdoor eating or relaxing after a fabulous day in the sun.
Walk along an endless beach or sit on your private deck. This private beach association, on extensive wooded property, offers the use of tennis courts, playground, and an inlet boating lake is only a short walk away. Numerous bike trails and two State Parks are very close. The fun towns of Holland and Grand Haven are minutes away, with great shopping and restaurants! The cottage includes a dishwasher, laundry, grill, cable TVs, and DSL. June through August rates range from $2200 to $3750 per week. Executive rental, Fall/off-season week/weekends also available at a lower rate. No pets or smokers please.
Papa’s Woods has everything you need for a fun-filled or relaxing week at the beach. Everything from beach toys and chairs to linens and beach towels are all provided.

Our family of 5 stayed at "Papa's Woods" in July. The home was beautiful and well-equipped - We had one rainy day - and were able to enjoy the board games and video library provided. The cottage is spotless and beautifully decorated. The neighbors are friendly. It is located close enough to town you can pick up forgotten items - but far enough that it is definitely an escape from reality. We are planning our return for next summer. :)
Recommended for:Sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We had a mini family reunion with my parents and my brother's family from Washington. The home is well laid out. We did family dinners and the kids loved sitting at their own table in the sun room. My dad spend lots of time sitting on the deck and enjoying his book. There was also a lot of time spent on the private beach (picnic lunches, late afternoon boogie board sessions, after dinner dips, volleyball games, and s'mores). The golf cart made it easy to bring down coolers and it was so nice to be able to leave our beach gear on the beach for the entire week. We also took family pictures on the beach (great back drop)! Owners were responsive and pleasant and even returned left items to me via the postal service.

We found Papa's Woods to be even more than we expected. Beautiful setting in the woods, modern amenities and easy access to Lake Michigan. Every thing in the house was very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our meals on the deck and in the sun room, gazing out at the beautiful forest scenery. We had a peaceful, relaxing vacation. Will definitely return!

Very Special Place. Being an East coast guy, I am totally amazed at the beauty and charm this spot displays. It reminds us of the Cape, Nantucket and Maine all in one. The house is first class. The air conditioning was a huge plus with warm temps and the smore forks were perfect for the evening beach fireside dinners. Papa, if watching from above, would have enjoyed the great fun we all had here

Beautiful Home. Wonderful time with our daughters and son in laws and 4 grandchildren. The beach was incredible, so relaxing. Had lots of laughs watching the 4 toddlers play in the sand for the first time. Papa's Woods is beautiful

Beautiful Weather, 80's and Sunny. Lot's of time on the beach. Picked blueberries, visited downtown Holland and Grand Haven. Lot's of quality time with family, grandparents.The kids especially loved the bedroom with 4 beds and the big tub!!
