We had a very relaxing 2 weeks in this condo - it is quiet & peaceful yet close to all amenities (grocery shopping, farmer's market, restaurants etc.). The bed was very comfortable & condo in general was very well appointed. We have been to Hawaii many times & have never seen so many whales - great sunsets too! The owner's are very welcoming & helpful - we would not hesitate in recommending a stay here.

I can't say enough about the beautiful Condo that we were lucky enough to stay in RIGHT ON the beach. Kathy was a joy to work with, don't hesitate to rent from her. We have been to Maui more times than I can count and always rent a Condo. This Condo has EVERYTHING you could ever even think of needing. It was spotless and beautifully appointed. We saw more whales from the beautiful Lanai than we did on our usual whale watch tour. I can't say enough good things about this beautiful piece of paradise. We will be staying at the Condo again on our next trip to Maui. Mahalo

AWESOME CONDO!!

We had a wonderful 4 nights here. The view is fantastic, and is located on a great part of the island! We snorkeled right in front of the complex, saw whales from the balcony, and cooked fantastic meals and watched the sunset most nights! Walking/running every AM on the adjacent boardwalk was a great way to start the day. Groceries, snorkeling gear rental, right across the street. The condo is comfortable, and is stocked with everything you need. There is nothing to complain about here, other than our stay was too short!!!

Our first time in Hawaii - We spent an entire week in this fabulous condo and could not think of anything that would have made it better except to be able to stay forever! The pictures do not do it justice - the view is absolutely perfect. We almost ruined a few breakfasts running out to the lanai to see yet another magnificent display of whale activity! We only closed the lanai doors when we left the condo and slept all night with them open - listening to the hypnotic sound of the ocean made for heavenly sleeps! Kathy and Michael - thank you for sharing your piece of heaven! We will be back!

Our stay was absolute PERFECTION! The condo in and of itself is wonderfully decorated, and truly the owners have included everything you will need for your stay (from over-sized beach towels, to a pizza cutter if you are so inclined). The floor to ceiling windows allowed for the most incredible views of the ocean we've ever seen. We kept the air conditioning off at night and let the screen doors envelop us with the Maui breeze and the gentle, soothing sounds of the waves! Literally, you couldn't have this property closer to the ocean! From the lanai (which has lovely patio furniture) we saw a cruise ship, sea turtles, whales, dolphins in the distance, kite surfers, and breath-taking sunsets! At night we also sat on the lanai, and saw billions of stars! There are so many activities to do and see in this area of Maui; this condo is close to everything! We chose to have a combination of quiet time at the condo and water activities. The location of the condo (top floor, penthouse) allows for privacy and quiet surroundings. My husband and I have never before experienced anything like this condo and the area around it. Kathy and Michael, thank you so much for everything. We only want to stay in your condo from now on for our trips to Maui! Mahalo a million times!!

Strongly recommend this as a beautifully decorated and appointed penthouse experience. Right on the beach, the sunsets are spectacular. The top floor gives a great feeling of isolation as well as beautiful views.

The condo was stunning. Everything as advertised. Unbelievable views from really everywhere in the condo. Sunsets on the lanai were amazing. All the amenities were great. Pool clean and protected from the wind, the beach was steps away and the snorkeling right out in front of the condo was perfect. Would highly recommend the condo to anyone looking to stay in Maui. Was great having Duke’s right next door for happy hour as well as close to Kaanapali and Lahaina for shopping and nightlife. Would definitely stay there again.

We chose this penthouse for our first trip to Hawaii. Kathy and Michael were great to work with, and the condo was everything that had been promised. We were too late in the season for whales, but the dolphins and turtles didn't let us down. We absolutely adored falling asleep each night to the sound of the surf. We were lucky enough to have the natural air conditioning of the trade winds for our entire stay, so we were very careful to use the wind door as we came and left every day. We ate out most evenings, but the kitchen was great for our breakfasts and happy hour! If you are looking for something special you won't be disappointed with this choice!

Stunningly beautiful oceanfront penthouse

The Mahana is a beautiful condo complex, but this one on the 12th floor is knock-out stunningly gorgeous! The view from the living room and bedroom is breathtakingly spectacular. The sunsets are unbelievably beautiful! Whales and dolphins were ridiculously easy to view, even without binoculars. The best part was waking in the morning and spotting whales, usually within a minute, from the living room or lanai. The unit is very private and quiet; we were not bothered by any extraneous noise. All that we could hear was the soothing sound of the surf. The gourmet kitchen was immaculate and well equipped, although we did not take enough advantage of it. Instead, we enjoyed going out to a different restaurant almost every night. Kathy and Michael were very easy to work with, even as we had to reschedule our visit at the last minute due to a medical emergency. We enthusiastically agree with all of the previous positive reviews, and can definitely recommend this condo if you're looking for the ultimate in Maui accomodations. We will be returning as soon as possible! No reason to go anywhere else!

#1216 is certainly a wonderful place to stay while on the beautiful island of Maui and Kathy was as accommodating as the condo! Everything listed in the description is correct and all the photos are current, really the condo speaks for itself. The condo was very clean and tastefully done with the best view on the island; simply wonderful. During my 7 day stay I shopped exclusively at the Fresh Fish Market a few blocks away as well as the farmer’s market a block further, utilized the wonderful kitchen and had dinner on the lanai each evening. The location of the Mahana is situated just right as you are near nice restaurants, Safeway and the ABC Store. I would most certainly recommend the condo to anyone considering Maui and looking for the condo experience over a hotel as this unit is a home away from home.

We spent a week here in January. What a gorgeous place. If you check the Internet you will find the Mahana is the number one place to stay in Maui. If you want to make sure you get a beautifully appointed place with a million dollar view, this is it. We had the whales so close we didn’t need binoculars and watched a sea turtle dine on the grass right below the deck for 2 days. Beautiful granite countertops, travertine bathroom, top appliances, entertainment center, 2 flat screen TV’s - you might not want to leave. Kathy and Michael really do care and want to share their slice of paradise with us.

1216 at the Mahana is a wonderful destination. It is immaculate, beautifully decorated and maintained, and all the creature comforts have been anticipated by the owners to make your stay special. The photos and description are accurate, in fact the condo looks even better when you see it in person. This was our fifth trip to Kaanapali. This condo surpassed by far the accommodations we have had in the past. We felt lucky to have it to call home for our anniversary trip. We loved watching the whales while having breakfast on the lanai. It is so thrilling to see them. We saw Willie K at Mulligan's in Wailea. Great show. He also appears at Kimo's in Lahaina. We enjoyed walking on the boardwalk over to Duke's for a couple of light dinners. There are so many great restaurants in the area. We always go to the Plantation House in Kapalua for a special dinner, and this time we went on a recommendation to Mama's Fish House - a drive, but worth it. The owners are good at having everything in place and responded quickly to questions I had. Thanks very much for your hospitality!

The Genuis Loci of Maui

This was our first trip to Maui and so planning our romantic getaway was a bit intimidating as we wanted to select the perfect place. But luckily our friends who stayed at the Mahana spontaneously recommended the penthouse 1216. The whole process of planning the trip was very smooth and easy as the owners provided us with ample information. We stayed at the penthouse for 5 days and had a great experience. The exterior of the Mahana is a little outdated but the moment you enter the condo, its full of surprise. The breathtaking views of the ocean ,fully upgraded high end kitchen, bathroom, sustainable furniture and the state of art of technology. The use of mirrors to reflect the ocean at every part of the condo was a great idea. The condo was very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the sound of the ocean from the bedroom and the candle light dinner at the Lanai. We booked all our activities through the recreation kiosk at the Mahana. We watched the sunrise at the Haleakala National Park, snorkeled at the Molakini Crater, toured the winding roads of Hana and attended the Lahaina Luau. We spent most of the evening at the condo, just unwinding at the Lanai and counting the stars. This is a perfect place to stay if you want to be in unison with the nature. The condo very beautifully merges with the beach and the sound of the waves are so soothing. I will surely stay only at Mahana 1216 on my next visit as it was everything you look for on a vacation - spectacular views, value for the money, safety, interactive owners and finally the place has a magical spirit.

We absolutely LOVED our stay...both times! We couldn't believe the views and how close to the ocean we were. We opened up the sliding doors and let the ocean lull us to sleep each night and wake us each morning. We also had a ringside seat to watch the whales frolic from the floor to ceiling windows while sipping tea. As if the oceanfront and whales weren't enough, the condo itself was one of the most beautiful we've stayed in. Coming to Maui is a great experience, staying at the penthouse at the Mahana during your visit will probably make your experience one of your top most memorable vacations...one that you'll want to repeat again and again. The last day we were there in April and literally packing and taking our bags to the car, a whale and baby breached 9 times in a row as if to say good-bye and come back soon. I'm sure we will!

Our trip to Maui was made all the more special by the amazing furnishings of the condo. The bed was of high quality and the furnishings top notch. Everything from the furniture to the cook ware was in excellent condition and even the small things like plenty of high quality towels made the stay that more pleasant. We were hoping for a nice place with a good view based on the pictures but just walking into the place the first time took our breath away..my first thought was, Why would anybody want to go anywhere else??? Having the beach so close by just gave us some exclusivity and made it possible for us to be there as many times as we wanted and for as long as we wanted. You also gave us some great tips on things to do and places to eat. Overall my husband and I had a wonderful experience. We liked it so much that we recommended some friends of ours as well and sure enough, they have come back with the same sentiments -- great place! This condo was absolutely bueatiful and in excellent condition, very clean. My wife and I come to Maui every year and we discovered this condo for the first time and couldn't have asked for better. The kitchen is first rate, the bed very comfortable, the atmoshpere of the complex relaxing. The condo has air conditioning but we found ourselves not using it. The trade winds come up throughout the day and the nights are very comfortable. We came to stay at the very end of the whale watching season yet I was able to still observe two or three whales each morning we were there. The views are spectaclar. We would definately stay again and would reccommend this condo to everyone. The owners are wonderful people who are very easy to work with and comne through on their side 100%.

Based on the pictures and information on the website for Mahana #1216 we had high expectations. When we arrived in Maui our expectations were exceeded. The condo was perfect. What a beautiful condo!! This is our 1st trip to Hawaii and we didn't quite know what to expect. The second we walked thru the door of unit 1216, we were just blown away. We normally rent a 1 bedroom condo unit when we make our annual visit to Myrtle Beach and we are always very happy. However, now that we have experienced THIS condo, and THIS island,our normal vacations just won't compare. We leave in 2 days and I am not looking forward to it.

This was our first condo experience3. e are here to celgrate my hisbands 50th birthday. You have set the standards at a new high. Everything is so perfect and convenient to have all the sweet touches of a home. We did get to enjoy many days of whatle watching from the loanai. After a long trip from our place, we arrived at your beautiful condo feeling very welcome. It was 9:00 pm Maui time, which meant it was way past our bedtime. We awoke the next morning to the most beautiful awesome view and took a picture to remind us when we have dreary days in Michigan. We loved calling your place our home for a week. You have done so much to make this a gorgeous and relaxing place to enjoy. We fell asleep to the soothing waves of the Pacific. We are already talking about next time. Wow! We stood on the lanai laughing at the beauty of it all when we first walked in. We feel so lucky to celebrate our 15th anniversary in this beautiful space. Love the floors=they are so warm and clean. Definitely recommend a massage on the lanai. My favorite place is the lounge chairs on the lanai-love the footrest. What a beautiful home you have! We have been so comfortable here... the bed is heavenly! We know how fortunate we are to have been "assigned' to Mahana #1216. We have explored the Island, eaten wonderful food, watched whales, snorkeled, enjoyed the views and beach. Tomorrow we go home :(, but with unforgettable memories and hopes to return soon. Amazing place!!! Felt like I was in the penthouse suite of a 5 star hotel but better because of all the fine upgrades and home amenities your home provided us. The views were incredible. Saw rainbows and whales everyday we were here. Snuck into another condo while we were here just to see if all the other homes were just as impressive. Like I said earlier, this is the Penthouse Suite! Thank you, thank you for providing a home away from home in this paradise called Maui. This wasn't my 1st time here, but when I return, it will be at The Mahana #1216. I hope to return in the future and will share my experience with my friends. Thank you for a piece of paradise.

This is my third time in Maui and I have stayed in every major hotel here including the Four Seasons and hands down, your home is the best I have stayed at. Thank you for sharing everything. I felt so at home. I love your furniture and I really felt like I was in paradise. The views are spectacular. I have been here for 2 weeks now and I'm sad to be leaving. I wish I could stay here forever. I will definitley stay here again and hopefully I can request your home again. I will highly recommend this to all of my friends and hopefully I will be back again soon.

Jut wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay in your beautiful space. We are celebrating our 15 year anniversary and first time to the Hawaiian Islands. Your immmaculate "home" was very welcoming. Kudos to your detail in lighting and tile/stone work. The view is awesome! It was so wonderful walking into your beautiful home. You have done a great job making us feel welcome. This was the perfect location for our second honeymoon. We loved the quite and peaceful beach. Last night we picked up dinner and had a private dinner on the beach. It was great. Mahalo

Never having spent a vacation in a condo, I was leary, but I'm so glad we did. The unit is beautiful and so tastefully upgraded. Every night we were able to listen to the ocean lull us to sleep. The location is ideal-within a few minutes we can join lots of others or slip back here and enjoy each other and the views. Sunsets are incredible. Thank you for sharing your place with us. It really helped make the trip lovely.

As soon as we walked in, we felt the Aloha. What a great view! The sunsets were beyond description. I don't know how you can stand to be away. We love your tropical decor. It just added to the "magic". We hope to come back to Maui someday and, of course, we won't want to stay anywhere but here. It truly felt like home. Thanks so much for the Aloha!

Great place and great location. We spent our Honeymoon here. It was far enough away from the hussle and bustle so we could enjoy some quiet time, but close enough to have some fun. The condo was beautiful and the view was amazing.
