Exactly as advertised and illustrated in the photos. The house and pool are in excellent shape, and Kerry was extremely attentive and responsive before, during and after our stay. The beach is minutes away (even walking, though bikes are also provided) and we usually saw very few other people, which was great. The backyard is quiet and secluded (great for sunbathing and reading), yet Harbor Town, South Beach and the Sea Pines Beach Club are only a few minutes' drive by car. Bike paths run all through Sea Pines,so you can get nearly anywhere on bike as well and because it's a gated community, traffic is pretty low. Highly recommend heating the pool -- it was perfect to cool off during the day, but wasn't too cold at night. Also, the petting zoo at Lawton Stables is great for all ages. Overall, and excellent house and setting. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a place to slow down and relax (as the name aptly suggests!).

This was our 3rd time at Sea Pines and first time staying at Chateau Relaxo and it was a wonderful vacation! Kerry was extremely helpful with our preparations and also responded quickly to any questions we had. We have never stayed at a home in Sea Pines where the owner was so attentive. The house itself was BEAUTIFUL. It had plenty of room for our family (6 total) and was very clean. We loved having the bike path right next to the house. Every evening after dinner we set out on a riding adventure. Thanks to Kerry for use of his bikes and "the mule" :). We also LOVED how close we were to the beach. It made it much easier to go to the beach daily with our young children. The pool and screened porch where also a huge plus. The pool deck got lots of afternoon sun which I loved! No doubt we would love to return to Chateau Relaxo for another family vacation!

Great vacation home!!

This was our first visit to Hilton Head Island, and it definitely won't be our last! Chateau Relaxo was much, much nicer than the pictures indicate. Kerry was very attentive, even calling us on the day of our arrival to make sure that everything was in order. Our family of 6 adults (3 couples), 1 toddler, and 1 newborn, was very comfortable. It truly is a home away from home, and has everything that you can possibly need for a vacation. We loved the tiled floors and the granite countertops in the kitchen. The great room has plenty of room for the entire family to enjoy together. The master bathroom was so nice, that it inspired us to renovate our own when we returned home! Chateau Relaxo is a pleasant walk or bike ride to the beach and surrounding areas of Sea Pines. It was wonderful having the bikes available when we arrived. The beach cart was a life saver and kept us from having to carry our gear to the beach. We enjoyed having access to both the beach and the home's inground pool. We enjoyed eating at Hudson's, The Skull Creek Boathouse, and The Sea Shack (be prepared to wait a while to get inside). We did some shopping at the Tanger Outlet stores in Bluffton. We even found a bowling alley on the island and had some family fun. There were plenty of other activities to explore, which means that we MUST come back for another visit. Kerry, thank you for sharing your home with our family.

Ideal Vacation Home

Chateau Relaxo is the ideal vacation retreat for families or couples. It is situated amongst pines, bike paths and beautiful homes. The beach is just a bike ride away. Take the bike path across the street, make a couple of left hand turns on the path, and you will arrive a few yards away from beach path number 25 which takes you straight to the ocean! The Hilton Head Lighthouse area is also within biking distance! The owners of the home have thought of everything to make your stay fun and relaxing. The house is equipped with everything you would need or want for a vacation on the beach. The furnishings in the house are updated, comfortable and in great shape. Chateau Relaxo is a home away from home and one truly settles in. I especially appreciated the owner's availibility, responsiveness, and terrific communication with me. It's obvious that Kerry is very consciencious and wants the best for his guests. The next time my family vactions in HH, we will definitely check to see if Chateau Relaxo is available to us before we check anywhere else!

Our family has been to Hilton Head many times but had never rented a house for an entire week before. This house was all we asked for, very clean and comfortable with amenities galore. Our 3 grown children enjoyed hanging out with mom and dad here, enjoying the pool, bikes and close proximity to the beaches, Harbor Town etc. We have already booked our stay for next year! Although this is a pet friendly home, there was no lingering evidence of such. This home is truly a gem and the owner is exceptionally accommodating!

the description of the home was exactly as stated. the photos prepared us for a beautiful vacation home. the home was immaculate and furnished with cleaning products if they were needed. the owner has been exceptionally helpful and kind before, during and since our stay. we would definitely recommend this home and will consider returning to this property. we loved having bicycles to ride the wonderful paths and go eat at our favorite restaurants: THe Salty Dog Cafe in South Beach and Quarterdeck and Crazy Crab in Harbour Town.

Our second vacation booked at this lovely home. Comfortably and stylishly appointed, sqeaky clean, this home offers the perfect location for all your HHI activities. A sweet stroll to the beach, a short bike ride to Harbor Town and South Beach, as well as Lawton Stables, Chateau Relaxo, located on a quiet and picturesque street, is equipped with several bikes and beach equipment making your trek to the shore swift and convenient. The pool, which over looks a lagoon, is welcome relief from a day spent outdoors. Finally, the owner is extremely pleasant and available, offers his attention to the smallest details. We'll book again, for sure!

We have rented many homes through VRBO and this was the nicest one we have stayed in. The home is very well maintained and includes everything they indicate and all in working order. The home is located perfectly to make access to everything very convenient. The patio was the perfect place to listen to the waterfall and enjoy your morning coffee. Truly a great vacation home!

Fun Time in Hilton Head, Island!

Our week in late August, 2011 was super. We had visited Hilton Head in the past, but hadn't been back in about 10 years. Your home in Sea Pines was wonderful! It's location was very convenient to the beach, South Beach, and Harbourtown. We enjoyed biking, walking in the evening, and swimming in the pool. We will remember your home as being comfortable, clean, and well-equiped with all that we could have needed. Our dog enjoyed her time there too...we were so lucky to find that your home was pet-friendly!

My family stayed at this wonderful home last week and did not want to leave. The pictures are fantastic but the reality is amazing!! The owners have thought of everything to make your stay carefree and your packing easy. From the beach towels, many bicycles, beach chairs, pool toys, coolers, and fully equiped kitchen all you need to bring is your clothing, sunscreen, and a good book to read by the pool. You can definitely see pride of ownership and the upgrades throughout the home are like staying in a 5 star resort. We really enjoyed the personal touch provided by Kerry who was kind enough to call to ensure everything was in order on our first night. Our children loved being able to jump out of bed and into their own private pool, and we parents enjoyed being able to enjoy our coffee without cries of when can we go swimming?? We also enjoyed being able to bring our dog with us and she loved the near by bike path, wild life, short walk to the beach in the morning, and being able to watch us swim in the pool. This is by far the most amazing and comfortable home we have stayed at in the area and we are looking forward to renting again here next year. Thank you so much to the owners for opening up your home for our family to enjoy.

We Keep Coming Back!

Last week we stayed in this home for the THIRD time. We have stayed in other houses in Sea Pines in the past and they were nice, but there is just something special about this house. Everything is comfortable, beautiful, and clean. The many upgrades (the large shower with the cool river rock shower in the master bath, granite counters in the kitchen, beautiful tile throughout) and extras (the bikes, the beach chairs, the mule, the cooler, the beach towels, the pool floats) are an indication of how much the owner, Kerry, cares for this home and wants his guests to enjoy their stay here. We love the location...It's an easy bike ride to the bakery in Harbour Town for morning pastries, to the Beach Club for fun in the ocean, and to South Beach for drinks at The Salty Dog outdoor bar right on the water. The best thing for us is that the house is pet friendly! This year our favorite restaurant (again) was Charlie's L'Etoile Verte...a little pricey, but absolutely delicious food, unique dining room, and you can find a coupon at hiltonheadisland.com. We also enjoyed burgers and sandwiches at the Beach Club one evening while listening to entertainment. Did the 1-1/2 hour sunset dolphin cruise out of Harbour Town one evening and would highly recommend that. Saw LOTS of dolphins and the narrator was great. Thank you, Kerry!! We wish we were still on vacation!

I would like to continue the praises for Kerry and his family's house. We took a family vacation (party of 6 adults and two toddlers) in the middle of July 2011 and could not have been more impressed. Kerry was first class from the first conversation I had with him all the way through the week of our vacation. I can't imagine a better person to rent from. As the home goes, the pictures do not do it justice. As someone has said it truly is a home with personal touches from the owner that let's you know he takes pride in this house. The location is good short bike ride to the beach and within only a few minute bike ride to any point in Sea Pines resort including Harbour Town and South Beach. The pool was wonderful for the kids with plenty of area for them to swim and splash around. I would highly recomend anyone to this property. I really just can't say enough about it. If our travels and fortunes bring us back we most certainly will stay here again. THANKS AGAIN KERRY!

My husband, daughter, her friend, and my mom arrived at your home on Saturday afternoon. We found the home in perfect condition. There were many bikes, pool toys, boogie boards and most importantly, the MULE which our family enjoyed. The home is well stocked with most anything you would need. The home is warm and inviting and is beautifully decorated. The bike ride to the beach was even shorter than I thought and so very easy! We would absolutely recommend this property to most anyone. Kerry was very helpful and timely in addressing questions I had before arriving and upon arrival. The property manager was also helpful with another question we had regarding the television. This was a really good experience and one that we hope to enjoy again in the future!

We have been coming to Hilton Head for several years and this was the best vacation experience we have had yet. This home is perfectly located on the bike path. It is close to the beach and a quick bike ride to our two favorite places South Beach and Harbor Town. The home is beautifully decorated and very clean. The owners thought of every amenity. The "mule" and extra beach towels made trips to the beach so easy! Kerry was very helpful and even called us the night we arrived to make sure everything was as it should be! This is a wonderful vacation home, and the owner couldn't have been nicer. He went out of his way to make sure our stay was great. We loved the home. Loved the pool. Great sense of privacy. Beautiful neighborhood. The bike trails were fantastic. And it was a huge plus to have bikes included with the house. Best vacation rental experience

This was not a "rental" house, but a home. The minute one walks into this home, you can feel the stress melt away. A very tastefully decorated home in Sea Pines gives you the feel that the de Vallette's were your best friends who were letting you stay in their home. All communications wirh Kerry were timely and informative. The home is a five minute walk to the beach (quicker if you use the bikes and the "mule" that are provided). The attention to details were wonderful. Beach towels provided. Quality beach chairs. The swimming pool and hot tub. A thoroughly modern kitchen. Comfortable sheets. The phone call from Kerry upon our arrival. This is an owner who clearly wants you to enjoy your whole experience. We have rented houses all along the Carolina coast for the past 20 years and this is by far the best experience we have ever had. Our family of six commented that this was the best spring break ever. I should also note that Kerry's consideration in allowing us to bring our Boston Terrier was another reason for our choice. South Beach and Harbor Town are just a short trip away on bikes. The home itself is nestled on a quite street, abutting a small lake (with at least on alligator). We will definitely be planning another future visit at Chateau Relaxo!

The Best!

We first stayed at "Chateau Relaxo" in May of 2010 and fell in love with this home. We came back early this year and fell in love all with the home all over again. We loved the update to the screened in porch with the sofa and chairs with ottomans, which made for great mornings having coffee and watching the activity in the lagoon. The house continues to be well maintained, and always feels fresh and clean. We've already booked our 2012 visit and can not wait to get back!

Delightful Home

We were lucky enough to find this rental on the "Home Away" site, and chose it for our vacation because the photographs showed this house to be serene and comfortably decorated. Once we arrived, we were not disappointed! This home and it's amenities offer what vacation to us is all about. Close enough to the beach, a nice pool to cool off, a screened in porch to read and relax in the morning; what more could one ask? This spotless unit has risen to one of our favorite spots in Sea Pines. We visited Old Oyster Factory again this year and ate their Signature Tilapia dish. What a treat! Another favorite is Ronnie's Bakery in Coligny and Skillets in Coligny. Hard to choose which one to visit for breakfast. This owner is very pleasant, helpful and accomodating.

Fantastic Rental

Our family of four (plus dog) loved this rental! It was exactly the right size for us, with plenty of space and separate areas, all of which were nicely decorated. The house was clean and in excellent condition, with comfortable furniture and great bathrooms. We appreciated the nice location within easy walking distance to the beach and right by a bike path. The internet, large TVs and owner-supplied bikes were fantastic and the owner was a pleasure to rent from. This house had everything we needed and has become our new family favorite in Sea Pines.

We stayed at 17 Deer Run Lane in mid-July 2010. It was our fifth year renting a house in Sea Pines, and this was our best experience. The home was a bit further from the beach than we were used to, but it's just about 5 min on bike, 0.5 miles. The home was nicer and cleaner than our previous rentals, and we found it to be a great place for our time in Hilton Head. We will definitely plan to come back here! The pool has a nice mix of sun and shade - you can sit in the sun anytime of day, or in the shade. The home comfortably sleeps four adults and two kids. The kitchen is nice and up-to-date. Pictures show off the house nicely, and the description is accurate. Dealing with Kerry, the owner, was a pleasure.

Great house and Kerry was great to work with! We had 4 children under the age of 8 with us and they loved the pool! The house is beautiful and in a great location. It was an easy walk to the beach and a short drive or bike to Harbour Town. We definitely plan on returning!

The house is perfect for the 4 adults and 3 children in our party. Location could not be better! Being exactly halfway between Harbourtown and South Beach and a pleasant bike ride to the stables... made bike riding a breeze and the kids could come and go as they pleased. Proximity to Snowy Egret beach and Black Skimmer is ideal! Probably the least crowded of any except in front of Arthur Blanks' house. The house was everything we expected from the pictures provided on the website. The property was very clean and well-maintained. After 18 yrs and vast knowledge of the island, Fiesta Fresh, Sunrise Cafe, Redfish, Amigos and Truffles for eating out!! The kids loved seeing the 3 deer every evening around 7PM, grazing in our front yard and the common area across the street. We will definitely be renting 17 Deer Run Lane next year!!

What a great home and location within Sea Pines! We biked everywhere - to the Salty Dog, Harbourtown, and even rode the bikes out of the plantation to Caligny Plaza! The house itself is so open and really comfortable - it was perfect for our families. We loved your renovations and the master bath is awesome. Being able to sit out on the screen porch and enjoy nightfall watching the wild life in the lagoon was so relaxing. It really set the pace for our vacation. We are already booking again for the summer. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us.

A Great Place to Get Away from Winter Sea Pines with its many amenities was a wonderful place to spend the winter this year. We enjoyed 10 weeks in this lovely 3-bedroom ranch home with a serene lagoon view. Its location beside the bike path was ideal for our favorite pastimes--riding bikes to Harbour Town and South Beach and walking to the nearby Atlantic Ocean beach with our dog. Each of the bedrooms has its own private bath, a feature that our family members really appreciated during their visits. This recently updated and comfortable home is beautifully decorated and its open floor plan was great for entertaining and very accessible for my husband who sometimes uses a walker. We also enjoyed watching the large HD TVs in the great room and master bedroom in the evenings. This is our third winter on Hilton Head Island and this home is by far our favorite of the homes we've rented. We also found the home owners very accommodating and responsive to our needs. We would certainly recommend this home as a wonderful place to stay in Sea Pines! We love the low country with its spectacular natural beauty, almost-constant sunshine and friendly folks so much, that during our stay this winter we bought a waterfront lot near Beaufort and plan to build a home and relocate in the near future!

We stayed at 17 Deer Run Lane May 16-30, 2009. This house is both beautiful and spotless, inside and out. Very comfortable beds and new bathrooms! We loved the screened porch that overlooks the pool/spa and lagoon. Perfect location in Sea Pines to bike to beach, Harbor Town, South Beach Marina. What a great find on VRBO, we will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful vacation while staying in your home. Our 2 daughters were well entertained by the pool.. we spent most of our time there! The house was beautiful and very accomodating. Well kept and maintained. We will most definately return!!

An inviting and spacious home. Great location for the beach, walking, bike paths, shops and restaurants. We stayed for six weeks, February/March of 2009, and enjoyed the house as a home away from home. The gas fireplace made it cozy on many nights and the heated spa was relaxing and fun. Baths in each bedroom made our family and friend guests very comfortable. The travertine tile floors make for an easy upkeep. We will be back.

Just wanted to write a quick note to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at your house last week of September, first of October in 2008. We fell in love with your home due to its location and design. We love the open floor plan with the view out to the pool and wooded area with the lagoon. Being on the bike path is just another extra. Also, being able to walk to the beach with our dog to watch the sunrise was really nice. It looks like you have done some remodeling, looking forward to seeing the updated master bathroom, it looks awesome! We hope to visit this September. Your house made us fall in love with Hilton Head all over again. Of all the places we have stayed (about 8) on HHI, yours was our favorite.

What a fabulous house! We stayed in this lovely home for a long Labor Day weekend 2008 and had a great time. Great location in Sea Pines, private backyard, spotless house. Every amenity you could think of including bikes! Would definitely stay here again. Thanks for sharing your home.
