Casa Plata, Condominios LeBlon, Punte Diamonte, Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca
In a town where even the supermarket has a great view, our condo has a mind-blowing view of the bay, from the Faro to Zicatela (one of the world's top ten surfing beaches)to la Punta and then, across the great Oceano Pacifico to the ends of the earth.
Our new condo, Casa Plata, is dramatically located on a cliff above the Mirador, facing southeast toward Zicatela beach. It is within walking distance or if you prefer, a 25 peso cab ride, to all of Puerto Escondido's best attractions, beaches, boating, surfing, shopping, and restaurants. From our balcony we typically see dolphins, whales, turtles, manta rays, schools of jumping fish, bobbing heads of surfers at Zicatela, working fishing boats –enough to keep you entranced for hours on end, especially if you are sitting in one of our two serenity chairs on the balcony! The escenico andador, also known as "un sueno possible" on tomzap, winds along the foot of the cliffs from town beach to the condo, giving the athletic and adventurous another way to get to town.
Our property manager will share with you her favorite places in town - she speaks English, German and Spanish and has lived in Puerto since the 90's. With maid service five times a week, and all linens and kitchen equipment on site, all you need is a bathing suit and a toothbrush to completely enjoy yourself.
Casa Plata is a luxury condo that's very easy to live with - living and dining areas are open to the palapa roof, screens help keep out the (very few) mozzies that make their way to our floor. Ceiling fans keep the air cool - but if you overheat, each bedroom is separately fitted with an air conditioning unit. Drinks on the balcony are the perfect opportunity to watch the lights come on in town as the sun goes down after another perfect day- and maybe this will be the place you finally see the green flash!
We think of Puerto as Acapulco in the 1950's - a sleepy Mexican port city, in an incredibly beautiful setting. The bustling mercado, the fishing boats lined up in the bay in front of Playa Principale, all speak of old Mexico. The international surfer influence over the last fifty years has added depth to this little town: great pizza from a wood burning stove, sushi and Portugese food are found as easily as guacamole and margaritas. |
