Conveniently located in South Kona (Captain Cook), Lani Iki is less than five minutes from a large, well-stocked supermarket as well as many other shops and restaurants; it is about 35 minutes from the Kona airport. Lani Iki rests among coffee trees and tropical flowers at a comfortable 1200-foot elevation, offering its guests a tranquil resting place graced by sweet-scented breezes and birdsong. Kealakekua Bay, just 10-minutes away, is arguably the best spot on the island for kayaking, dolphin viewing and snorkeling.

The bedroom has a queen bed, and the large living area has a queen sleeper sofa, comfortable rattan seating, flat-screen TV, iPod/cd player, and bamboo tiki bar. It’s a great place for socializing, sunning, or snoozing on one of the lounges. Enjoy cooking a tasty meal on the grill or having a soothing soak in the relaxing spa. Map & Owner's Profile
The View from Lani Iki, Priceless!
Year Purchased: 2007
Why the Owner Chose Kealakekua Bay
Milt's parents and grandparents were born and raised on the Big Island. We were fortunate to be able to return in 2007 to this beautiful piece of paradise. When you experience the view from Lani Iki, you will understand why we named it "Little Heaven."
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
The Big Island is "da best." There is so much to do here--swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and dolphin viewing right here on Kealakekua Bay. Nearby, there are wonderful beaches for swimming, surfing or snorkeling and many other beautiful places to explore: valleys, volcanoes, waterfalls and historical sites. Great restaurants and shopping, too! You really have to experience the ALOHA for yourself.
Owner's Map of Kealakekua Bay
We are supposed to be retired, but since we moved to our little coffee farm in Kona, we are busier than ever. Come visit and see and sample the fruits of our labor--fresh brewed 100% Kona coffee from Keala Lani Farms or fresh-picked fruit--papayas, mangoes, starfruit, pineapples, oranges, limes and much more--depending on the season, of course.

We spent an unforgettable week around Christmas 08 in Christine and Milton's home - overlooking this magic Kealakekua Bay. We loved waking up in the morning with that beautiful view on the ocean from the middle of our bed - having breakfast on the huge terrace and observing the animals around - we missed the whales though. But as we heard the guests that followed us were lucky enough to see them almost by the dozen - well, you cannot have all of paradise at once...! We loved to come "home" after long days of excursions on the island - unfortunately we were always too tired to get to use the whirl-pool, television, dvd and all the other great equipment of the apartment. We enjoyed Christine and Mitlons hospitality, our little morning talks from terrace to terrace and we were greatful for all the little "hints" that came from them. No matter what we needed (cable for pc, how to solve a car problem, how do we get to...) we just had to ask and were helped immediately! They always tried to make us feel comfortable and at home. We were surprised with fresh fruit, splendid tropical flowers, coffee from their own plants and home-made cookies, and one night, to our big surprise, we even found a little snow-man in our freezer - a present from their excursion to Mouna Kea, which we missed... We would defenitely love to come back soon - if it only wasn't sooooooooooooooooooooooo far!!! Uwe & Martina from Germany (Freiburg in the Black Forest)

I stayed at Lani Iki for a week in 2008 and it was easily the most relaxing week of my year, if not the past several. The apartment has pretty much all the amenities couple or a small group could need, and the description and photos of the property do it justice visually, but you have to see and hear the exotic birds, smell the sweet, fresh air, and feel the re-energizing sun on your skin to get the big picture. Every morning I woke up there and walked out onto the deck with my Kona coffee, grown on location! It was relaxing to say the least. As far as activities and attractions are concerned, there was something for everybody. While my girlfriend is more of a "lay around and be served drinks by the pool" kind of person, I tend to shy away from large resorts, preferring to look for deserted, hard to reach beaches. To make a long story short, on our trip back from hiking to a near-deserted snorkeling area (we saw one woman with two children over 4 hours) where we swam with sea turtles and all sorts of fish, we took a well deserved pit-stop by a resort's swimming pool. My girlfriend and I were completely content and tuckered out and the end of the day, and returning to Lani Iki at the end of the day was the icing on the cake. We kept busy paddling with the dolphins and snorkeling in the Kealakekua Bay; we explored black and white sand beaches (and even one that has both) all over the island; we visited volcanoes, orchid farms, and golden pools, and we did all of this without spending much money or driving time. An absolutely gorgeous and fulfilling vacation.
