Beautiful Adobe Retreat

The Taos Guesthouse is the epitome of Southwest culture and spirit. It was beautiful, well appointed, quiet, and a true retreat! The table and chairs outside are perfect for your morning coffee, an afternoon of reading, or dinner under the stars. And don't pass up a relaxing evening around the fire... the pinon firewood is a true delight. Burt, the property owner and host, is an amazing gentleman. We felt very welcome and at ease during our stay. Not only did he provide wonderful suggestions for activities and meals but also was keenly attentive to details both large and small. We highly recommend the Taos Guest House! While on vacation we enjoyed the following activities: hiking Williams Lake Trail in Taos Ski Valley, visiting the Taos Pueblos, viewing the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, climbing into cavates and viewing a few petroglyphs at Bandelier National Monument, not to mention the fantastic shops and beautiful art galleries in Taos and surrounding communities (Ranchos de Taos, Arroyo Secco, etc.). On our way back to Austin we also visited White Sands and Carlsbad Caverns -- both are also highly recommended activities! We enjoyed the following restaurants (and didn't make it to all that we wanted either): Pizza Out Back, Bent Street Cafe, Caffe Renato, Orlandos New Mexican, Michael's Kitchen. And as an idea, you can get your food to go from Bent Street Cafe and sit in the near by park or Plaza :)

My husband and I greatly enjoyed the guest house. It was very clean and well-maintained. The photos were accurate and the guest house is nicely decorated. The owner is very hospitable and will provide you will insights into the Taos area. Also, the church San Francisco de Asis church is within walking distance of the guesthouse. Activities that I recommend include balloon rides and Llama trekking. Restaurants that enjoyed include Doc Martin's and Pizza Out Back.

Lovely Casita in Ranchos de Taos

This is a lovely guesthouse! Very comfortable, spacious, and spotless. We greatly enjoyed our four night stay, and the owner was most helpful and accommodating, both before we arrived and during our time there. The pictures of the guesthouse and surrounding grounds are quite accurate. It was a beautiful place to stay with lots of Southwestern charm. Although the guesthouse is several miles from downtown Taos, we appreciated being away from the traffic and congestion (especially on the 4th of July weekend) and could easily drive to Taos for meals or shopping. After a busy day of sightseeing, we loved the peace and quiet. I would recommend this property to anyone who has transportation and does not need or want to stay close to downtown.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing.
