  My family thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Horse Haven! The very large home is well maintained and the owner is available if needed. Horse Haven sits in the valley with mountain views. This is a very private location but you are just a few miles from the main highway in town. Restaurants, shopping, waterfall hiking, horseback riding, Black Rock Mountain State Park, and the Chattooga River are all nearby.

  Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

  Great place, exactly as described on the website. Very quiet with view over paddocks with horses. Huge bedrooms and plenty of beds; big bathrooms. The owner was very reactive to address our questions. Although very secluded, restaurants and stores are just a few miles away. Easy access from Atlanta or Athens by highway. We hiked the 7.5-mile James Edmond trail, that is just at three miles from Horse Haven ; the trail is very beautiful, with rhododendrons, several waterfalls and a lake. A great place to relax

  The home is farmhouse on the outside and cozy cabin inside. Janet's family antiques, collectibles, and photos create a warm homey atmosphere. The view of the pasture and horses grazing made it a very special stay. There are not many cabin rentals like this one, and we hope to return soon.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

  We just returned from our Thanksgiving weekend at Horse Haven. Our group included a family of 5, kids aged 19, 17 and 13, plus two other adults and dogs. We had plenty of space for everyone to sleep, could have had at least 2-3 more. The location is beautiful - the house is in a valley, where you are surrounded by mountains on all sides. Plus, you can sit on the wrap around porch and watch the horses graze. We had a great time hiking at Talullah Gorge and Black Rock Mtn state parks. We were able to enjoy ourselves at the house, with the adults relaxing inside and the teens enjoying the outdoors. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner (all but the turkey, which we cooked at home) in the very well equipped kitchen. It was a great long weekend, and we'd definitely recommend this wonderful house. Janet, the owner, was helpful, friendly, and just a phone call away. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful house. It's a treasure!

  My husband and I just spent a couple of days at Horse Haven and can't wait to return! It was private, quiet, comfortable, clean, and an absolute beautiful setting. Thanks for sharing this special place.

  Had a fabulous vacation with my husband and 2 teenagers. The setting is just gorgeous, cannot describe the beauty of the mountains. Clean, serene, really a special place.
