The Lodge at Fernie is a 3700 square foot custom built log chalet nestled in the Canadian Rockies at Fernie Alpine Resort.

The house is built of spruce logs in the Swedish style of log building. The 29 foot ceiling visible from the entry way highlights the complexity of the architecture. Massive log beams, hardwood floors, antique furnishings and cozy fireplaces combine with breathtaking views to create a rare combination of wilderness and comfort.

Within walking distance to ski lifts, bike trails, the Elk River and restaurants, the lodge boasts an 80 foot deck with an 8 person hot tub, a stainless steel gas BBQ, a 12 foot picnic table, plus patio tables. Steps from the deck lead to an outdoor fire pit surrounded by log benches and to a bridge crossing the small stream that meanders through the property. Moose and deer are occasionally seen from the back yard.

    • King Bed: A king four poster bed is located in the master bedroom, which is complete with ensuite.
    • Queen Bed (2) : There is a queen bed in the main floor bedroom. There is a queen bed and a single bed in the third bedroom.
    • Twin/Single Bed (5) : There are three single beds in the fourth bedroom, located on the second floor. There is also a single bed in the loft. There is a single bed & a queen in the third bedroom.
    • Bunk Bed: The fifth bedroom contains a bunk bed (equivalent to 2 twin beds.) This bedroom is adjacent to the master bedroom, and is entered through the master bedroom. Usually used as a child's bedroom.
    • Crib: There is one crib for use by renters.

    • Deck/Patio: French doors lead onto the deck with 12 foot picnic table that easily seats 13 people. Hot tub, BBQ and two patio tables also on this 80 foot deck.
    • Balcony: Each of the three second floor bedrooms has French doors leading onto a balcony with a patio table and chairs.

    • Mountain View: The mountains are visible from the living areas, loft and from the deck and balconies.
    • Ski-In: Ski through the tunnel just below Timber Chair to ski back to the house.

    • Kid Friendly: Highchair, children's play table. Outside there is a children's veranda bench swing, stationary child's bench and a child's picnic table.
    • Minimum Age Limit for Renters: We do not encourage university groups. We prefer families or couples.
    • Smoking Not Allowed: There is no smoking allowed in the lodge.

    • In August, we stayed at the lodge for one week and held our small outdoor wedding there. It was a lovely setting, inside and out, and we could not be more happy with our stay. Our families joined us for the week for a total of 8 adults, and we were all comfortably accommodated with room to spare. The lodge alone is gorgeous, but the antique furnishings really make it one of a kind. The lodge has everything a family could desire in a home, there wasn't a thing missing. We spent the majority of our time out on the beautiful deck, and of course in the hot tub, what a hot tub! The homeowners were incredibly kind and helpful, and the communication was great, it was such a pleasure to rent from them. This was a dream wedding and vacation for us and our families and we can't wait to go back!
