This charming 150 year old Provençal house built in local stone has been recently renovated with quality materials and decorated with excellent taste. It lies nestled at the foot of the famous red ochre village of Roussillon in the Luberon National Park. The house is surrounded by a lovely flowered garden, delightful pool and has everything you could wish for a memorable holiday.

As you walk down the steps through the shady garden on to the front terrace you enter into a light and cool lounge. There are sofas and armchairs to relax in by the Provencal fireplace. On the same floor you will find a modern well equipped kitchen and a laundry room to the side. Also a separate shower room and WC.

To the far side of the lounge is a cozy dining area with a vaulted ceiling next to the inside well. You will discover that an unusual source flows under the mountains and below the house and has been there for many many years keeping the house very fresh inside throughout the hot summer. There are lime stone floors throughout and lovely old beams on the ceilings.

Upstairs you will find a pretty master bedroom with a french fer forgé queen size bed and a second bedroom with bunk beds ideal for children. They share a fully equipped bathroom with views over looking the pretty garden.

There is a shady terrace for outdoor meals by the pool and in the evenings you may sit and admire the lit up village of Roussillon from below.

Roussillon is very animated all year round without being loud and noisy. There are many shops, potteries, cafés and restaurants in the village as well as the red ochre valley to wander around in and the traditional market is on Thursday.

The house is not far from Aix en Provence, Marseille and Avignon and all the other famous Provençal perched villages are close by, Gordes, Lacoste, Bonnieux, Oppède le Vieux and Menerbes. Everyday you will discover a different local market to visit unless you are sightseeing in the Papal City of Avignon or having lunch in Aix en Provence.

Taste the Luberon Rosé wines and Cotes de Ventoux or go for a day trip on the route des vins towards Chateauneuf de Pape, Gigondas and Séguret. Marseille and its Calanques are not far and St Marie de la Mer still has it's famous Red flamingos and bulls to admire.

There is so much to see in this beautiful region of France that you really must come and visit.

  • This is a lovely little house. Redone and emaculate inside; new kitchen and bathrooms. The outside is charming with a lovely view of the Roussillion hills. There are lovely seating and lounging areas poolside. Good location in that you can walk right into town yet it is not in the midst of a crowded village.

  • Great place in a wonderful location. Very easy to walk to the village. The house is well appointed and very suitable for a family of 4.
