Loon Lake has a hard sand bottom and is excellent for swimming, boating and fishing. There is easy access to the lake from the cabin and a private dock and boat lift. Relax on the deck or around the fire pit, fish off the dock or swim.
Five miles from the town of Vergas, with restaurants and shopping, and ten miles from Maplewood State Park for hiking makes this an ideal location.
Privacy, beautiful sunsets, and nights filled with the sound of loons makes this cabin one-of-a-kind. Couples, families, and pets will find a welcome here.

Steve and Jackie Eichmiller were drawn to Vergas, Minnesota by family history. August Eichmiller, Steve's grandfather, was one of the original settlers of the town. Having vacationed every year in the area, they grew to love its serene beauty. This is where they established their business "August Retreats" to offer you the same experience.
Why the Owner Chose Vergas
Steve and Jackie Eichmiller have loved the lakes area of northwestern Minnesota for years. In 1996, they decided to call it home when they moved from the suburbs of Minneapolis to Vergas, Minnesota. Now, they wish to share with others their enthusiasm for Minnesota and, especially, for the beautiful lakes it offers.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
Privacy, and a natural outdoor setting takes you away from the stress of the daily grind. Evenings around a fire pit, with a great view of the sunset, and loons calling in the bay is reminicent of northern Minnesota, but with easy access.

What a comfortable cabin. Beautiful views, spacious deck and patio, fire pit and great swimming and canoeing. It was very cozy and secluded. We really enjoyed being able to bring our dogs. Scout the dog was a great host, as were Steven and Jacklyn. We'll see you again!
