This new Eco-Friendly lakehouse is beautifully furnished with energy saving appliances and new furniture. Furthermore, the interior is spacious and roomy, and allows you to completely relax.
After a day of sailing and water skiing have a glass of Texas wine by the fireplace. Or, relax in the hot tub after a day of hiking and mountain biking. If you feel like watching the sunset and stargazing you only need to step onto the second floor deck. There is plenty of room here with 8 queen size beds and a sofa sleeper, you can bring your entire group.
We have a large restaurant style kitchen and a wonderful caterer. You are welcome to bring in your own caterer to serve a large group, use the facilities to whip up your latest gourmet creation or do something simple. However, if cooking on an outdoor grill and having a picnic while gazing at the deer and road runners with your children is for you, we have the facilities you need.
Enjoy a wonderful large gathering room with a DTS, digital, surround sound stereo system and satellite television. This can be used for presentations or simply relaxing to your favorite music as you have a fire and enjoy after dinner drinks, or tell your kids well loved ghost stories.
If you are a stressed out urbanite, looking for a place to get away to, we can schedule private meditation and yoga classes as well as spa treatments. You can enjoy these in the privacy of the house without ever having to leave this tranquil sanctuary.
Furthermore, it is our utmost pleasure to arrange tours in the wine country, to lavender farms and olive oil orchards, a caterer for your events, secure reservations to nearby restaurants or any thing else you may require. Moreover, there is plenty to do when you stay at Straw Manor! If you love water sports we have a great view of the lake from our deck and are within walking distance of sailing, fishing and jet skiing on Canyon Lake. Or, if you prefer tubing we are a 5 minute drive from the Guadalupe River. Not to mention the incredible water park Schlitterbahn fifteen minutes away. In the alternative, Canyon Lake and the surrounding area is filled with horseback riding, tennis, golf courses, hiking, road cycling, and mountain biking in those famed hills of the Texas Hill Country. We built this retreat with strawbale, we are committed to the environment, use environmentally friendly cleaning supplies and donate a portion of profits to the Texas Hill Country Conservancy to preserve land in Texas. We all had a blast. Everyone liked the house and the fact that we all could room together. Thanks for all your help. We will be back. My family is still talking about the house and how comfortable it was for all us even when we were all in one room. Matter of fact it came up again last night while some of us were visiting mom and dad. You should be proud that you have a place that family can gather and have special times together. We use to always talk about the cruise we took mom and dad on. But now, your place has filled our hearts with memories with them. You should put that song "Making Memories of Us" on your web page to play while people visit. That is what your house has been titled in our family. Just a thought. As someone with architectural training, I can say it was a great experience. The thick walls give the house a Mediterranean feel (enhanced by the lake water colors, the stone and outdoor spaces). Congrats to everyone involved in designing and building the house.

This was our 50th Anniversary. Our 3 children and their children joined us (15 all together). It was a wonderful experience. Our children and grandchildren planned a second wedding for us with flowers (you gave us) and photos. The grandkids were the flower girl, bridesmaid and groomsman. It was outdoors and under the pagoda with music and pictures taken. My wife said it was better than the original. Needless to say there were lots of tears. We could not have stayed at a better place for all of this to happen. We have been blessed and Strawmanor was a part of it. The grandkids want to know if we can all come back again. They loved the big house, tubing, and outdoor adventures.
