The 15 minute drive from Hood River to The Dalles offers some of the most dramatic and varied scenes in the gorge. Densely forested landscapes open up to golden rolling hills as you emerge on the eastern side of the Cascade Mountain Range, all the while flanked by
the shimmering waters of the Columbia. The classic freight trains appear toy-like as they run along both the Oregon and Washington sides of the river!
