This property is in a prime area of Charleston. You can walk to everything, we spent 3 days as two couples and walked twice to battery and three great restaurants on Bay Street. The only time we needed to get the car from the garage was to visit Patroits Point. The property was clean and ready to use. The only negative was our unit is a 3rd floor walk-up so if you have a lot of luggage be prepared to carry it up two flights of stairs.

Just returned from a long weekend in Charleston (girls weekend away). This location simply cannot be beat. The condo was clean and safe - very spacious and comfortable. Just a few suggestions to the owner or future guests: direction on how to work the TV would be nice. We finally figured it out but it took a while! No coffee filters or dishwasher detergent - we felt these should have been supplied. We did not realize there was no elevator but we are healthy women and laughed as we climbed the 2 flights of stairs. It allowed us to eat more at the great restaurants. These are very trivial notations as we would return to this unit in a heartbeat. We ate at some fabulous places so our recommendations (all within easy walking distance) are Fig, Magnolia, Husk, and McCrady's. You absoultely cannot beat the location of this condo, nor the price compared to the better hotels. We highly, highly recommend this place!

This was a great find and a great stay. More than enough room for my family- we would have normally had to stay in 2 hotel rooms. The Society House was upscale, friendly and provided so much room (bedrooms and general hang out space). Complete with a full gourmet kitchen, washer/dryer and a location that can not be beat! Great service, excellent value and very comfortable bedding. We even had a private terrace which was unexpected

The Society House was wonderful. Why stay in a hotel when you can have your own luxury apt?? It has changed my outlook on traveling from here on out! Wow. Things I loved: We had our own washer/dryer, fully stocked kitchen, central location. It is in walking distance to the battery and all the restaurants, and night life. Perfect customer service. The manager did a great job. Cannot wait to return!

We stayed here because of a friend referral. It seems to be quite new. We can not say enough great things about it. I took lots of pics as I think the space was phenominal. Everything was great- the location, the really great interior, clean and more than spacious. We did not need our car at all. The best part was that this was like a home away from home. Not a stark hotel feel at all. The management seemed to really care about our stay. They followed up several times and sent in more amenities as we needed them. They left no stone unturned. Please see our pics- we were blown away with this property! Cheers!

My wife and i just returned from Charleston and had the most delightful stay at the Society House !! Great location and large condo with all the comforts of home. The ability to stay riight in the heart of Charleston along with the privacy of the condo made for a great retreat from our nromal hotel stay. The housekeeping was excellent .I had to call the help line once for locating a restuarant for dinner and the young man who took the call gave us super advice on local dining. We will definitely be back
Owner response:We are very proud to have been your host while visiting Charleston. We strive to be as helpful as possible with all of our guests so that they can relax and truly enjoy the charm of Charleston. We hope you will come back soon and stay with us at the Society House.

We just returned from 4 days in Charleston and The Society House and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Everyone who works there is intelligent, extremely helpful, informed. It reminded me of what good travel used to be like before corporate mentality took over. It is a well run, beautiful and affordable. If you want to relax, enjoy beautiful Charleston and sleep well, go.

My family and I had a great Charleston visit. Stayed at The Society House on a recommendation. It was an awesome set up- we have a large family and it comfortably held all of us. The condo was really large and in the center of it all. I liked it because we could come and go easily and still managed to cook a few dinners with the big kitchen. This was a different property than most out there and made a lasting impression with us.

This was our second stay at the Society House. I love the location, high end interior and it is unlike any other hotel out there. These are individual penthouses and condos in the middle of the city. This is not your typical run of the mill small hotel room (I think it was close to 1200 sq feet!). The service is always very professional and they assist with any needs promptly. We will be back next month on business and have already made the decision to stay here again.

Recently my wife and I, along with two friends stayed at your property. Although the location was convenient and the unit was spacious we were very disappointed in the cleanliness of the unit, in the quality of the bedding, and the lack of required supplies for a five day stay. We understand that your property isn’t a full service hotel but you should provide for the basic needs of your customers or at least advise them that no services will be provided regarding lines, towels, toilet paper, and soap. The mattresses & pillows were extremely uncomfortable and the floors and counter tops were covered with dust. Based on my discussion with your new cleaning supervisor many of these issues are known to management and have been ongoing which suggest that the information contained in the VRBO site was at best misleading. By far, our greatest disappointment was the lack of information regarding the two very steep and very narrow flights of steps that must be maneuvered to reach the third floor. Climbing those steps with luggage is a safety hazard for anyone but for people in their sixties and seventies they are dangerous. My wife and I love the city of Charleston and have visited many times and will again but we never again stay at the Society House nor recommend it and we’ll post our comments/concerns to the VRBO “blog.”
Owner response:Thank you for taking the time to review The Society House. We sincerely regret the room was not as clean as we desire for our guests. The issue has been addressed as we have recently hired a new cleaning crew which has been taking excellent care of each condo. We now have an extensive cleaning check-list required for each condo which we think will meet the expectations of all of our valued guests. Management has taken into consideration the need to mention that our property does not have an elevator. This information is going to be added to our listing, our website, and has already been added to our confirmations. We want to ensure that our guests have a wonderful experience in their home away from home and have not felt misled in anyway. This is not our intention, and we certainly do not want to be seen as running our business in such away. We understand that our guests may have additional needs during their stay so we have also added a contact number on the check-in information for our guests to use if they would like to be provided with additional items or services to enhance their quality of experience. We sincerely appreciate your comments and hope that you will reconsider staying with us again when visiting Charleston.

My husband and I decided to stay at the Society House on this visit to Charleston. These were former high end condo-(HUGE) and have been made into an Inn. I LOVED it. The kitchens were Full High end kitchens- MUCH BETTER than what I have at home! They were stocked very well. Bedrooms and bedding was comfortable and the location was more than amazing. We usually stay at the hotel down the street, but this gave us MUCH more bang for our buck. All the while keeping with our high standards. The entire reservation process went very smoothly.

I have always stayed in very nice Charleston hotels as I visit once every 4 weeks (business, liesure..) I am an investor and like to discover new ideas and perspectives. The Society House really blew me away with the quality. I want everyone to know the huge amount of space and upscale quality I got here. I will never stay in a hotel again. Everything was well done (I have high expectations since I travel so much). The bedding, the products used and the decor- well done. I needed extra amenites and they gladly provided me with all requests. The location was unbelievable - which made my stay. The owner used high end flooring, appliances, counters, faucets- you name it. I can see they put alot of work into this. My counterpart stayed in the 1 bedroom loft- now that was eye catching! I will plan on staying there next time. Thank you Society House- I will place on my traveler blog great reviews. Best- Randy

This was great place to house and host my family. I am very familiar with Charleston and live outside of Charleston. Since my place was not big enough to host my family- we chose to stay here. Having this location and all the comforts of home was the best decision I made! (the beds were sooo comfy) They were very helpful in coordinating two penthouses next to each other so we were all close during the stay. It was incredibly large and all went very smoothly from start to finish. I will be doing this again!

We had a great experience. I usually stay at chain hotels but this was a great find. Possibly one of the most comfortable stays I have had in a very long time. We were amazed at how much space we got. It was in an incredible location as well. We looked over on King Street. Great service. They brought extra towels as soon as they were requested. VERY responsive and johnny on the spot with everything. Highly recommend.

Location, appliance and fixtures are the only positives. During our stay, the cable was disconnected due to non-payment of bill. My husband called the cable company. Our security deposit was 3-4 weeks late and the check bounced three times. Finally found out from the bank they had funds (pending). After begging the bank to cash my check, my history and FINGERPRINT they cashed the check. No one should have to go through this. I listened to every excuse possible from the owner. They don't understand it is against the law to write bad checks. I know my security deposit should have been put in escrow not in their pocket.

Fantastic! The description and pictures were very accurate. It was very clean and well maintained. The owner did a great job in assisting all my multiple questions and coordinating my large group as we took up several condos. The location was perfect(no need to have a car) and the interior was very very nice. I highly recommend to anyone seeking a prime Charleston vacation. We spent alot of time shopping and eating in the sought after restaurants- what more could you ask for?! The owner suggested a restaurant called The Leaf Cafe-... WOW! That was a true Charleston experience (just off of King St..15 Beaufain St- Go.. you won't be disappointed!)

This was a perfect set up for our wedding party. The people at the Society House made it super easy to get our large group set up and organized. With a party of 25 they handled it incredibly well- even when we requested more towels and such. It was great that everyone could stay together yet have thier own space. The location was awesome since the church was in walking distance as well as our reception. Pics to follow! Not a complaint out of any of my guests- it made a typically stressfull experience stressless!

This was perfect for my large group of 10. We were able to rent several condos and mingle between them. I will be back! The location is more than perfect- really in the middle of everything and the interior was well done. The 1 bdrm was a great set up with the 20 foot ceilings and overlooking King Street- that is where we held a small cocktail party. The customer service was impressive.

I recently stayed at the Society House and I am glad I did! The interior was more than superior. High-end everything. It was like having my own million dollar penthouse in the middle of this great city. The views were of King Street which is the hearbeat of Charleston with its amazing shops and restaurants. Great location and great service by the management. They assisted every request flawlessly. The bedding was new and comfortable- my room was very cozy. The rates were more than reasonable for the amount of space I got. I plan on coming back very very soon. Charleston is one of my favorite cities!

We had the best location in the city. It was an upscale environment- very very tastefully done interior. Flat screen tvs- and gourmet kitchen (although we ended up enjoying the restaurants). I can not wait to return and bring my sisters with me. We rented 3 condos as we had a large group. The pricing worked very well for being able to sleep up to 6 in each condo. It was in line with the premium hotels but we got alot more space and quality for our money. Highly recommend. I could not believe such a great place existed in such a prime location. -Mary G. By far, this is the best spot to be in Charleston when it comes to location. Best shopping and restaurants are all within walking distance ... and there is a ton to see!! The condo was well appointed and very cozy! The traffic on the street was noisy well into the night, but that is to be expected when you are located in the heart of it all. We were early risers so the daily early morning trash pick-up was of little nuisance to us ... but if you want to sleep in, you may want to book something on the back of the building. Two favorite restaurants for us were Rue de Jean and Chai - both on Upper King Street. They had amazing food and great drinks! Many thanks for a wonderful trip to Charleston!

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. We just returned home from an incredible girl’s weekend in Charleston. This unit was the perfect choice for our stay. The unit was impeccably clean and the condo was elegant yet comfortable. Talk about location! WOW! We spent our days shopping and dining with everything at our doorstep. We ate at Chai's, Basil, FIG, Magnolia's and had bottomless Mimosas at Virginia's! (S.N.O.B is still our favorite!) Everything was in walking distance. The condo was even better than the pictures. We have stayed in many Charleston hotels, but these condominiums far surpass any of those. We will never stay in Charleston again unless it is here! Thank you again for making our mom’s weekend truly special.
