Newer FAMILY FRIENDLY custom built and designed 3 bedroom, 2 bath beach house with beautiful sunrise views of the Atlantic Ocean and White Sound. Just steps to a great surfing beach and minutes to the Sea Spray Resort (full service Marina, restaurant and outdoor Tiki Bar).
A nice walk to world famous Tahiti Beach , one of the most beautiful beaches on Elbow Cay. A short golf cart ride to picturesque Hopetown, restaurants, shopping, groceries and miles of pristine beaches.
Colorful Bahamian/coastal style decor and furniture. Ceiling fans in all bedrooms and throughout home. First floor open living room with wall of windows and glass sliders out onto covered porch area. Entertainment center with large flat screen TV/Home Theater DVD/MP3 hookup and plenty of board games. Newly built SUNROOM directly off the living room with sofa and matching ottoman, coffee and end table and a large wall mounted flat screen TV. Glass sliding doors lead directly out onto the deck, looking out over the gazebo and White Sound.

Door to outside covered deck/dining area. Walk out to large deck with bench seating along the entire back wall, separate, smaller seating area and fully enclosed and private outside shower. Large side deck area surrounding a custom, private, freshwater swimming pool, arbor with privacy lattice walls and gazebo, separated by a locking gate. Plenty of seating/lounge areas to enjoy sunning and great views of the Atlantic and White Sound.
Two bedrooms downstairs, one queen and two twins beds (can be converted into a KING BED) and hall bath with tub/shower and double sink vanity with granite top. Upstairs Master Suite with king bed, flat screen TV/DVD combo, separate AC mini split, bathroom with large custom tile shower and frameless glass door, double sink vanity and granite top. Glass sliding door opens onto private deck with magnificent views of the Atlantic and White Sound. Cozy sitting area with rocking chairs.

Nightly rates starting at $375.00 (3 night minimum)+ 10% Bahamian tax
10% higher over holidays excluding Thanksgiving. Payment 50% to guarantee
reservation, balance due 60 days prior to arrival. Security Deposit 10%
(refundable w/satisfactory inspection w/in 14 dys of c/o).$150 cleaning fee
(security and cleaning fee payable w/final payment). Cancellations more than
90 days, refund minus $100 processing fee. Less than 90 days, forfeit money
(except security and cleaning fee) unless rented.

Why the Owner Chose Hopetown
We decided to build our DREAM vacation home after our first visit to Elbow Cay. We stayed with friends in White Sound and from the minute we got off the ferry we absolutely fell in love. It reminded us so much of our days on Nantucket and how it used to be 30+ years ago. The beaches with their beautiful coral shaded sand and crystal clear turquoise water are second to none. Not to mention how hospitable and friendly EVERYONE is. It is the perfect place to escape, unwind, relax and create many memories!!!!
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our goal was to build a vacation home in keeping with the "Bahamas" theme of bright colors and coastal decorations, along with all the modern amenities one would want to make for a perfect stay.
Catch A Wave's location in the White Sound area has some definite advantages. First of all, being on the South side facing the ocean there is always a breeze, unlike in town or facing the Sea of Abaco. This especially makes a huge difference in the summer months. We are right up the street from the Sea Spray and a short walk to Tahiti Beach and only minutes by golf cart to other beaches and town. And.. in the summer, when power outages are a common occurrence, we have an automatic full house generator.

A few minutes by cart. Great sunsets for happy hour with an ocean view dining room for later.

We are a family of 5, three children OUT OF THE HOUSE and a golden retriever, TAZ. After growing up in the suburbs of New York and Boston we met after college in Nantucket, MA where all three of our boys were born. To escape those, long, cold, harsh winters we moved our family to Hilton Head Island, SC in 1992 where we currently live. Our kids have always had a love of the water and "island living" (although they have chosen metropolitan areas to attend college and live, temporarily).
Our love of the water (and surfing) have taken us on vacations to Costa Rica, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Barbados, Mexico and now Elbow Cay.

We stayed in Catch A Wave for a week of great swimming, snorkeling, surfing, boating to the nearby islands, sampling all the beach bars, and trying to determine which was our favorite beach...but each beach was more beautiful than the next. Catch A wave was a perfect location for a quieter stay, views of the water and a short walk to the marina, but still accessible to Hopetown by golf cart for dining out. The house was very well equipped - all the amenities of home plus board games, books to read on the beach, and a nice pool and deck.I would recommend this property - there was a nice caretaker to help with any issues (but we never had any) and was there to meet the boat upon arrival and get acclimated.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children.

I’ve always had a travelers heart but have yet to see very much of the world but I’ll never forget my trip to the Bahamas and the pleasure in staying here at your home. It was truly so inviting and a wonderful place to spend some (well needed) relaxation time. Thank you for putting so much heart into each and every room. The décor, and all the amenities a girl could ever ask for were lovely, and appreciated. It certainly is more than just a little piece of paradise… the memories here will most definitely make those snowy, wintery night ahead of me just a wee bit easier to bare.

This was our 4th stay on Elbow Cay, and "Catch A Wave" has by far been the best house we have stayed in! It was perfect for our family. We loved coming back to the pool and the fabulous views after a great day of boating on the Sea of Abaco. Sad leaving Abaco on a day of bad weather, BUT the weather was gorgeous the rest of the trip! We loved coming back and visiting our favorite spots such as Nippers, Tiloo Bank, Fowl Cay, Bakers Bay, Pete's Pub, Sandy Cay, Cracker P's and of course Hopetown! Thank you so much for the great accommodations! We hope to visit again soon!

We couldn't have dreamed of a better vacation! Your house is beautiful- we loved all of the fun pictures/decorations on the walls. The pool was great for the kids, especially for practicing snorkeling (although the real thing, on the coral reefs was amazing!) We will definitely be back!

My wife, daughter, son-in-law, and a very good old friend enjoyed a great week at Catch a Wave during early April. The centerpiece of the week was my son's wedding on Elbow Cay. We were very impressed with the spaciousness, amenities, and appointments of the house. It provided plenty of space when we wanted it, but also the opportunity for all of us and others to get together on the beautiful large deck and appreciate the view in near perfect weather. If we had been so inclined, the numerous flat screened TV's would have allowed us to all view our own favorites shows simultaneously, but we were always busy with other activities. The satellite phone was a great perk that enabled us to keep in touch with the States when necessary and the WiFi internet access was also much appreciated. I was able to follow the progress of my beloved Phillies. If we return to Elbow Cay, we will definitely stay at Catch a Wave again.
Recommended for:Age 55+, tourists without a car, families with young children.

We found Catch A Wave to be the perfect rental house for two couples. It is beautifully decorated and in a wonderful location on the island. There was nothing we needed that wasn't supplied. The kitchen is very well appointed. Although we spent much time on the expansive deck overlooking the Atlantic, the unusually cool weather kept us out of the swimming pool! Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us.
