Warm Nantucket Sound beaches are less than five minutes walk from the house. Spend your day or just ten minutes at the beach, it's not so far that heading out is an expedition and forgetting something is the end of the world.
When your beach day is over, rinse off in the private hot/cold outdoor shower and then cook a great dinner at the house or walk on down to the The Skipper for happy hour on the upstairs deck.
With a partially fenced side yard, you can sit in the sun or shade when relaxing with a book. The enclosed porch has always been a gathering place for friends and family on cool evenings. Grill up your masterpiece on the charcoal Webber grill.
Check out the news and weather and look at your favorite shows on Direct TV. A DVD/ VCR will let you watch movies from the local store.
There's enough parking to bring your boat. Linens are not provided, though blankets and pillows are. Please bring your own sheets and pillow cases. Linens are available to rent by checking the link to Essential Rentals.
The key feature of our rental is that the price you see right now is the total rental cost to you. No surprise fees or add-ons to run up the price once you decide to book! Our property offers a great value with a full kitchen so you can cook your meals at home. Park your car and you're here for the week.

We stayed here in August. The place was very conveniently located with less than a 5 minute walk to the beach, which was great as we could run back to the cottage at anytime or go for a quick impromptu walk on the beach at night too. The cottage was very nice and clean and had everything we needed. The owners were easy to work with as well. We had a great time staying here.Recommended for: Families with young children.

My grandparents purchased this home back in the 60's, before the area was very developed, and our family has enjoyed this property ever since. We hope you join us as a guest and find as much pleasure as we do in our vacation home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1957
About the owner: This home has been in the family since the late 50's. It was an old rumrunner's home that had been moved back off Smuggler's Beach. Joe and Bea Headd escaped to the cottage when they weren't tending to their restaurant, the Headd In Diner on Route 1 in Walpole. Bea Headd spent many summers in this home late in her life and passed away in January 02. The home is now owned by sisters Maureen and Sheila, who share in decision making, care, and upkeep. Steph, Sheila's daughter, helps out with the 'technology' end of the rentals. We all still escape to the cottage from our own busy lives in the spring and fall and hope you might take time to enjoy our family getaway.
Why the Owner Chose South Yarmouth:
When my grandparents purchased this home, it was at the end of a dirt road. There was a trail through the woods to the beach, which was all sand dunes and solitude. Over time, development came to the area. The solitude is harder to come by, but all the wonderful things that draw people to the Cape are still quite accessible.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This home provides a quiet respite from the day-to-day, with access to all of the Cape from it's central location. We all kick back and unwind, enjoy the local seafood, cooked home and at local eateries. We enjoy the National Seashore and would strongly encourage visitors to venture to Welfleet to explore Grand Island then take in the local scallops. Swim at the beach. Jump on the rail trail, which originates ten minutes away in Dennis. Grab a meal at Captain Parkers and a cocktail on the deck at the Skipper.
