Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2000
After a junior year abroad in Aix-en-Provence, owning a house in Provence was my dream.
Many years after this year, my husband and I realized my dream in buying this house.
We chose St. Remy because it is centrally located for touring, and a village of medium size, with all necessary services.
We know that you will love visiting here!
Why the Owner Chose St. Remy de Provence
We find St. Remy to be a village with a life after the tourist season, so, unlike other smaller villages, there are always shops and restaurants open, even in winter.
We find the location ideal for touring Provence.
And of course, the beauty of the area is absolutely incredible! No wonder Van Gogh painted so many of his famous works here!
The Unique Benefits of this House
Ideal for touring during the day, then coming "home" to relax and either cook a delicious provencal dinner, or walk to one of the many restaurants close by.

We had a great experience from initially contacting the owners, to meeting the property manager and staying in the apartment. It is the perfect location, right in the old part of the city, five minutes from great shops, restaurants and a grocery store. St Remy is small and feels safe and friendy but is centrally located for visiting Arles, Avignon, Aix-en Provence and so many other areas. The apartment made us feel like we were (almost) natives, sipping wine on the deck before strolling to dinner. The furnishings and the artwork are warm and inviting. You should be pretty fit because there are several flights of stairs. While you're in St. Remy, be sure to visit Glanum, a restored Roman town, a short walk away. It was amazing. If you love seafood, there's a great restaurant on the main road around the old city, Chez Gus. We were worried it would be touristy, but the food was great and the staff very friendly.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

Excellent accommodations in a great site! Parking is two blocks away. The Wednesday market is great and this year (our second trip) we were there for the "moving the sheep" festival. Lots of fun at a restaurant on the street. Need to be able to walk upstairs - two flights max. Wifi is a great addition since our last visit.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

This was exactly what we were looking for. Located right in the middle of this amazing village, this was the place to be. Steps away from all of the wonderful things Saint Remy has to offer (restaurants, shopping, museums). By living in this house we had the opportunity to meet local people and business owners, walk down to the local "boulangerie" for "pain au chocolat" every morning, to the amazing street market (on Wednesdays) and evening "aperitif" at one of the local bistro where, in no time, we became friends with the owners. Mademoiselle Carole provided an impeccable reception and made herself available to tend to every need we had. The house is cozy and well equipped. It could comfortably fit six people, although there is only one full bath. The stairs connecting the three floors are quite steep, but it wasn't a problem for us. A nice feature is the small open-air terrace on the roof that made our dinners even more pleasant. The booking process was made easy by the owner's availability to provide all necessary information in a timely manner. Upon arrival, we realized that the owner had described the property accurately and we found exactly what we ecpected. All in all we would recommend renting this property to anyone who wants to be in touch with the people of Saint Remy and does not have a problem with climbing stairs.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
