Located in a newly developed residential enclave on the campus of the beautiful University of British Columbia, this non-smoking apartment is perfect for discriminating visitors to Vancouver who want easy access to the city, but a quiet retreat at the end of the day.
The 200 square foot deck, with views of the spectacular North Shore mountains and the Pacific Ocean, looks down into a landscaped quadrangle and our quaint, neo-gothic neighboring building, reminding that you are on a university campus. The neighborhood is very quiet.
Downtown Vancouver is 15 min. away by car, or 20 min. by bus. The university is served by many bus lines; the building has secure underground parking – one stall exclusively for the use of the apartment as well as several visitor parking stalls.
The apartment is luxuriously furnished and centers around a fabulous, open kitchen. Top-of-the-line appliances, Sub-zero fridge and freezer drawers Miele gas cook-top, wall oven, microwave, and dishwasher, granite counters, limestone floors—the apartment is designed for people who appreciate fine things and will respect them. This apartment is not suitable for children.
It is ideal for a couple, but a comfortable euro-system convertible queen-size sofa-bed in the cozy den would allow for a third or fourth guest. The master bedroom is carpeted; it has a queen-size bed with 500 count sheets and luxurious en suite spa-style bath with Turkish towels. The bathroom is very large, with multiple-head, walk-in shower and deep soaker tub, all kept warm by in-floor heating. There is a second full bathroom opening to both the entry hall and to the den (2nd bedroom) so it can be a private en suite.
The living room and dining area offer custom furniture, bar stools for a casual dinner, or a beautiful table for six, if you feel more formal. An extensive collection of kitchen equipment, dishes and tableware assure that you can live here in definite comfort.
The building has concierge service.
The location is 20 mins from the Vancouver International Airport, 2 ½ hours by car from Whistler, and 30 mins from the North Shore Mountains. UBC is the site of the Nitobe Gardens, The Museum of Anthropology, and Pacific Spirit Park with 2000 acres of walking and biking trails. The UBC Golf Course is a public course and there are several private courses in the neighborhood.
All the amenities of a major university are within minutes walk including the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts, The Belkin Art Gallery, Frederic Wood Theatre, and the University Library. We are a longer walk away from Spanish Banks, Jericho and Wreck beaches, and parks.
Vancouver will be the host city with Whistler for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
