We had a great vacation there. The house is the one right in those beautiful pictures. Kathy and Todd are very nice. Price is very reasonable. No.1 choice if it is available.

Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Beautiful rental

My family stayed here for a week and it was great! The property walks out right onto a small lake and has a gorgeous view. The large wood deck was a great place to eat breakfast. My kids woke up every morning excited to run out and feed the ducks. I think word spread among the duck community because by the end of our stay we had about 30 ducks waiting for breakfast. We loved the accommodations and would definitely go back. The photos are pretty accurate. The rental is the bottom half of the house and has large spacious windows where you can look out over the lake. The owners are very communicative and worked with us when my mother-in-law decided to join us at the last minute. The property is clean and well-maintained with a very nice kitchen.

Very Peaceful View.... but.... some honest feedback

It wouldn't be fair to the owner or future renters to simply offer a general complaint; here are the specifics of our concerns. - The listing clearly states that the visitor is renting a house. What a surprise we found when we arrived to find that while we were actually paying for renting a house, our area is actually the walkout basement of the house that the owner lives in. What deception! - The bathroom is actually on the other side of the bedroom. Yes, a person actually has to walk through the bedroom in order to get to the bathroom. This is so odd, not allowing any privacy for those in the bedroom, not mentioned in the listing. - There is no second bedroom, although advertised as a 2 bedroom rental. If this had been a house rental, one could assume that the second bedroom area would be somewhat private... in reality the kitchen, dining area, living room, and the bunk beds are all in the same large room. - There is no private laundry area, despite the claim. I took out the owners clothes from the dryer, folded what I could, before drying my clothes. I certainly didn't mind, but wondered, why in the world would they post this as a private laundry room when in reality it is shared with the owner? It's not a huge thing, but again, deceptive. If they were to write that it was "shared", then it would be obvious that this wasn't really a "house rental". - Kitchen... we wanted to cook a bit while at this rental "house" (walk-out basement); the kitchen is really only a sink base. The microwave is set on a bookshelf in the living room, next to the refrigerator. - Fire pit.. they still advertise that the customers can use the fire pit. Yet, the owner's boyfriend, who first met us at the walk-out basement , told us that if we used the fire pit they would be subject to a possible $10,000 fine. The owner updated the property profile on the day we arrived, yet by comparing it to the previous version, only the cost of cleaning was changed. All of these other things remained the same. Yes, there is a wonderful view, and many windows facing the lake. Very peaceful. But this walk-out basement is best suited for visiting relatives, or, at the very least, could be rented to those who would be able to read a straight forward description of what the conditions really are like. This is not just a bit of creative marketing, but goes beyond that. We are very low maintenance people, we tend to roll with things. This is our first rental complaint. With sincere concern

Owner response:I advertise it's a house because it's the type of the rental place. It's impractical to think that one rents the whole lake front house of 3300 square foot in Seattle area for the rate that I charged. I am revising the listing to specifically show the lower floor. The listing is now clearly identify the arrangement of the rental spaces. The pictures show what the rental place offer. The laundry room is dedicated (privately) to the house. Owner lives on the top floor, provides maintenance, and provides immediate service to the guests. The owner does share the laundry room and wash only once a week. As for the kitchen, microwave, etc.. the pictures show what it offers. The guest's comment is an opinion. The bathroom is just fully remodeled last month. We have to follow fire-ban sometimes imposed by the government especially July, Aug, and September. Other than that, it's ok to use the fire pit. We are renting this place with the intent of sharing the great place with travelers. Staying at a hotel costs a whole lot more than the rate charged to have the same square footage, kitchen, refrigerator, lake front access and view, washer/dryer, and other accommodations. We have very full booking. All have positive comments (emails since they do not want to spend time to provide formal reviews) but this one. The comments were based on his expectation - for much more than the rate per night can offer.

What a wonderful vacation!! We absolutely loved the darling little house and the amazing hosts. They were so good and kind to us and so thoughtful in every way during our stay. The place was clean and well furnished and very cozy. Our kids were ready to move in!! This place is literally sitting on the water so bring fishing gear. You will love this little get away. Our family gave it a huge thumbs up!!! Thank you, Kathy!!

Clean Quiet and relaxing. The hosts are very accomidating to your every need.Secluded but close to stores and resturants. would highly recommend a stay here.
